Terrible place of employment. Two faced, back stabbing, management. I worked there 3 years ago…read more I left because work was slow and I needed more hours and money. I found another job and left. About a month and a half ago they had advertised an office job available. I applied for it. The human resources lady looked at my application, wrinkled up her nose, shrugged her shoulders, and said well, I have other applicants. Since then, my daughter has tried to get in there and was refused three times. She even called in and talked to the plant manager and he told her to fill out an application. She filled it out, gave it to human resources, and the manager never seen the application. since then, her boyfriend got hired and talked to the plant manager. the plant manager said, "oh yeah, I remember her, she worked at plant 2, she was a good worker". The plant manager told human resources lady and she turned him down. Would not let him hire her. Then she proceeded to take that if she knew he was in cahoots with the family, he wouldn't have got hired either. TALK ABOUT DISCRIMINATION!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot recommend them. Here is the letter I sent to their CEO which received no response:…read more I am a recent customer and purchaser of one of your modular homes. I feel like I need to write to you about this experience. I called your offices in late 2019 to inquire about purchasing one of your homes for land that we had bought in Marion, NC. The woman I spoke to gave me the nearest dealer for that area, Diane. I had many conversations with Diane about the virtues of going modular and we decided to go forward with PBS. My spouse originally met with Diane as he was up in Marion working on the land. After many months into the process of designing and talking, I found out that Diane was not a turn key dealer but basically a sales person and that we would be the builder and assume all responsibility for the house and project ( I had to sign a contract). Just so we are clear I did not call PBS looking for this situation. I wanted a turn key dealer and assumed that all of your dealers were turn key. Perhaps you have both kinds but I was not made aware of this fact. I have no home building experience and to be asked to become the general contractor on this project was beyond stressful! At some point we decided to proceed knowing all this and gave Diane our deposit. She had told us that a price increase was coming and we had better get our deposit in. As I stated, I have no home building experience and I was expected to find contractors and get the grading, well, septic, foundation all completed and up to code. I felt like someone just boated me out to the middle of the ocean pushed me over board and as they motored away said, "good luck". We did get it all completed and my spouse and I put in many hours working to complete things that we could not find people to do. I had no rule book or list of tasks to work from. We were down to the weekend before the the house halves were to be delivered, trying to finish the foundation. On Monday one half arrived and the other half did not which threw the entire set crew/crane schedule off. Diane had visited the property many times and assured us that it was very accessible. However when delivery day came she suggested delivering to a parking lot of a closed business nearby. I was not going to hand the driver a check for that much money and not have the house halves on my property. Set day came and went fine. My set crew was very professional and knew what they were doing. The factory made many mistakes which are surprising for a company this large and with your reputation. I was constantly being told that all inquiries must go through Dianne and that customers can not speak directly to PBS employees. I was even told that Diane is the builder, even though she and her company build nothing. I had to trust that what I told her made it back to Cris at PBS, who I was told was in charge of my house build. I was very specific with details that I sent to Diane to give to Cris. I made Sketchup renderings of all rooms and the house itself so we could be clear on the details. All the while I had to trust that this information made it to the appropriate PBS personnel. There were many things that seemed like dumb mistakes. For example: The plans showed rough ins for plumbing but only sinks were rough ins. I only heard the term "stubbed down" after our order was placed. There were many plumbing problems from the factory. The kitchen drain leaked, the shower leaked, the main vent was cracked and broken, the wrong fixtures were installed, I was charged for plumbing for a bidet but no plumbing was actually done and a large hole was left in the wall. My plumber fixed everything but told me it would have been cheaper for me if PBS had done nothing.Plumbing fixtures were found weeks later in the attic an unmarked box. There was no documentation about this. Maybe Diane knew but she never communicated details like that to me. The houses arrived with no door handles or locks and no means of securing the house. I had to run to Lowe's to buy handles and deadbolts that I did not want (or order) and pay the set crew to install them. On set days the factory shorted us corner trim, siding and soffit. We did eventually get the siding but it was 2 months later and it incurred more costs to bring the siding crew back. We were very upset that PBS left their trailers in our driveway for 2 months. They were constantly in the way of the work going on at the house. I have submitted the overages and mistake costs to Diane for reimbursement. So far the warranty manger has refused to communicate or reimburse the bulk of the issues.
