As a former Boston resident I was sad to leave the city, for the suburbs, but the Colonnade seems to be the best of both worlds. It maintains a slightly urban feel...the well-kept streets are lined with mixed commercial/residential buildings which hold a slew of shops, and restaurants within easy walking distance. It also has every suburban amenity. A Lowes, Target, movie theater, gas station, Petsmart, vets, doctors, dentists, Whole Foods, Giant, post office, and highway are all in the same neighborhood or around the corner. Oh, lets not forget homegoods! It's DC and Baltimore accessible, being so close to the highway and the ICC 200. The building and grounds are immaculately maintained. Given the number of residents there's never trash on the ground and dog owners here are meticulous about picking up after their pets. The pool is a beautiful feature and never crowded. There are a set of gorgeous lakes complete with small trails to walk through which I've grown to love taking my dog around. There's always a glimpse of a bunny or turtle to keep things interesting for her. Despite being right next to a main road (Quince Orchard Road) it feels well-insulated. Speaking of insulation, so far no issues with sound traveling between units. The residents generally seem considerate and respectful. Most of them seem to have been here for quite some time and have been amicable. The property manager, Bruce was very helpful and informative with my moving in process. I strongly suggest touching base with him before you move. There are a few rules to be aware of and possible fines for violations.

    If you value your safety or sanity, stay away! The…read moremanagement company (Dryfuss) refuses to make repairs, and we're talking things like flooding from broken pipes, issues that are clear fire hazards, not simply clogged toilets. Their maintenance staff, while compentent in most basic areas, doesn't know much about the physical aspects of the apartments- 'are those things you painted over sprinklers?' 'No, no sprinklers.' Five years later- 'We can't complete the repairs until we can get someone to repair the sprinklers.' Really? Some things they just REFUSE to deal with. The bathtub needs to be recaulked... they come after two plus YEARS and caulk over the old broken caulk without removing the old caulk or even CLEANING the area, so within a month it was cracked and allowing ants to crawl in from the walls again. While we're on the subject of the bathtub- creepy-crawlies crawl in through improperly sealed areas around the faucet areas- 'oh, they just came in from outside, besides it's dead.' Thanks for that. Let's not forget the murder. This is most relevent because the management company actively removed ANY fliers requesting information if anyone saw anything within less than 24hrs of them being posted- including the ones in the common areas. The management company cares little for it's residents (and that is being generous). They have proven they don't care about threats, both internal and external. In truth, I'm even afraid to post this review for fear of further retribution, but this place is dangerous.

We love all the amenities that come with the complex. We love the relaxing atmosphere, pool, gym and all the amazing shops and restaurants we have around. Most importantly the team and maintenance team makes Courts of Devon an Amazing experience. The maintenance team provides high quality service. They go above and beyond for the residents. They care deeply about their community and get any job done immediately and it's completed within less than a hour for us, the same day!!!! They are seriously the BEST maintenance team in the DMV (Pedro, Luis, and Aldo) thank you guys for everything. Kurt works in the rental office (marketing and management team) and he is truly a compassionate and caring person with "High Quality Leadership Values and Skills." Courts of Devon in Gaithersburg is extremely blessed to have him here with us. He goes above and beyond for his residents.     I went on a tour and although the surrounding area offers a lot in terms of restaurants and…read moreshopping needs, I felt the 1 bedroom I toured was too small for the amount of rent, I'm not a fan of off white carpeting, not enough closet space, the apartments looked like they were built on a parking lot. My view in the morning of the particular unit that would be available was just that- overlooking the parking lot. It also appeared that there was a lack of diversity in both culture and ages. But that could had been the timing of my tour. On the plus side, they do offer community events for tenants to mingle. That I thought was a big plus. And the large windows in the living room were appealing. But I decided , I needed something larger and more eye appealing with a diversity of tenants of all ages and backgrounds.

When I moved in one of my blinds was broken, and maintenance replaced it right away. A couple months ago my garbage disposal started to leak badly and had to be replaced. Maintenance took care of it right away, and I haven't had a problem since. There is new management since around last November, and the front office staff has always been friendly and courteous. They are proficient at their work and they clearly care. The building was completed around 1971, but it is in good condition and some of the apartments are in the process of getting upgraded. We have a community room here, a fitness room, an outdoor pool and tennis courts, and a little market. I enjoy being a short walk from the Gaithersburg library, CVS, and Lakeforest Mall. Weis grocery store is not far either, a bit further from the library. The 59 bus comes right outside the front entrance of Walker House. I haven't had any trouble with power or pests. I feel confident recommending Walker House to others who are looking for a comfortable, laid-back place to live.

Thank you Stephanie Snowden I never have a problem with walker house staff, I'm going into my 5th year here, when ever I have a problem they always get it done. Lovely place to live.
