This is a sinking ship.
This building used to make up for its flaws with pricing and pleasant neighbors but it has had a steady decline. One of the managers, Fernando, is no longer there after 23 years of service and the new management combined with an incompetent Board of Directors serve as catalysts for the building's demise.
We have a therapy dog. When we lived here many, many years ago, we simply provided a doctor's note and our dog's therapy dog certification and we were good to go. When we moved back this past year, the Board of Directors obsessed over the details of my disability, leaving me feeling violated and judged. It's not comfortable needing help, let alone needing to disclose excessively detailed documentation of all the help you need to neighbors you don't know.
There is a healthy, booming rumor mill in place these days, which resulted in our being told there were complaints that we had "at least FIVE pets" in our apartment. We have one. The therapy dog that they basically wanted blood tests and social security numbers to verify. Management told us this has become the new norm due to a senior citizen-style mafia specializing in gossip and complaining.
Another fun feature is that while the building is OFTEN advertised as a no smoking property, that's actually a complete lie... So much so that there was a movement to make all units non-smoking and it did NOT pass.
The building is primarily elderly and families with infants and very young children. It's awesome that they were all lied to about the smoking policy and are now trapped in an unhealthy environment.
Here's the final, BEST part: there is a mouse infestation. The management just admitted it within the building this past week. It has been a problem for over six months and is now so bad that mice are very present all the way up on the tenth floor. Residents are upset and management has taken the bare minimum approach, simply setting some traps and replacing them.
If you want a mediocre experience, a unit that will sell for less than you bought it for, ever-rising HOA fees that are higher than comparable properties, or are just lonely and love rodents and emphysema, this is the place for you! read more
