Enjoy being a permanent camper here. We've met a lot of good people. Scott and Jody have done a good job since taking over.

I stayed here for the month of October 2024. I chose this campground because it was reasonably…read morepriced, @ $800 for the month, and within an hour of St. Louis where my daughter attends an undergraduate program at St. Louis University. The night sky here is pure adulterated galactic magic. So many stars you can actually make out the Milky Way. Although I'm not a birdwatcher, I would suppose that birdwatching here would be wonderful as I saw many birds of prey, including Blue Jays and Hawks, the names of which I have no idea. There's a nice dog park, conveniently located in the middle of the campground, not at the end like at most campgrounds. The campground has a very relaxed atmosphere, which I very much appreciated as I was working the entire month. Wi-Fi signal was weak, but good enough to work, not so much for television viewing. Bathrooms were clean. The sewage system seemed new and quite good. The water was the freshest I've had at any campground I've ever been to, drinkable even right out of the tap. Eddie, the gentleman who manages day-to-day activities at the campground actually drives into Mulberry Grove every day and brings back a huge water buffalo with hundreds of gallons of freshwater. It's really amazing. They were very accommodating, when I asked them to change my location, the last few days I was there... the site I spent most of the month and was fine, except it was not level which would have made the final breakdown and hook up to leave challenging during inclement weather which was predicted. The new site actually had no Wi-Fi, but I used my phone's, cellular service and hotspot to bring Wi-Fi to my PC for the last few days. So it wasn't a problem. And summary if you're looking for a quiet hassle, free stay at a reasonable price in Southern Illinois, I would recommend this place.

Cedarbrook Camp Ground - Great for bird watching.

    Great for bird watching.

Cedarbrook Camp Ground - 1st site, unlevel enough that my wheels were off the ground when the jacks were down.

We came here for just one night as we are on our way to Memphis…read more It's a bit off the highway to get back into here, but the roads were safe enough. They were super friendly at check-in and even offered chocolate chip cookies, which is a first. They also had popcorn. There is also Fatso's pizza place that is part of the front office and they give you a menu upon check-in. We were assigned to site two, which had a beautiful Lake view and was on the end so we had fairly unobstructed views of the lake. There's plenty of green space in this park and they had Disc golf as well as a pretty nice playground for the kids. The sites are fairly close together and there are 60 total sites in the campground, so seem like they had plenty of room. There are a lot of different site types that you can reserve, including one that is completely paved with some patio furniture. They also have cabins to rent if you don't have a camper. Loved all the shade trees too. We did not use the public showers or restroom so I cannot comment on that. With a good Sam discount, this place was $53 per night. Make sure to try the pizza, we ordered a small one just for a snack and it was fantastic! Make sure to ask them to make the cross extra crispy if you like it that way. All the utilities worked fine although I will say, even with our filter, the water had a little bit of an odor to it. Not sure what that was all about. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within about a mile of this place as well.

The staff was friendly, the site was level, and the setting was beautiful and serene. The camp even has a bar (lounge) where you can get beer, mixed drinks and pizza.
