We stayed at Timber Trails for the first time this year. Highly, highly recommend it. Well-run, very reasonably priced and our "cabin"(more like a house) was beautiful! We stayed in the "Blue Spruce. In our group there were 3 couples but easily could have accommodated more. Before we went, I couldn't find many photos or much information about our cabin so I decided to help out the next person. I took photos of all the rooms and listed all the things that this place had and what you may want to think about bringing--besides what they suggest.
Bedroom 1 has a window, 1 queen, 1 full and 1 twin bed and a small dresser. Outside that room is also a wide chest of drawers plus a long pole to hang up clothes above that--some hangers.
Bedroom 2 has windows, 1 queen bed, a closet area and drawers
Bedroom 3 has a drape instead of an actual door and a queen bed which takes up most of the "room" - no window and no storage (great spot for kids to sleep)
Bedroom 4 has a window, 2 twin beds and a small dresser. There is also a storage room that can be accessed from that room--good spot to temporarily store suitcases.
Two bathrooms. The large one has a sink, vanity with storage, shower, bathtub and stool. It is located by bedrooms 2 and 3. The smaller bathroom is by bedroom 1--it has a small sink, stool, shower, towel hooks and one rack and a storage cabinet over the stool and a small medicine cabinet over the sink.
The living room area has a nice t.v. (they have Dish cable), 2 chairs, 1 bench (lift up for storage--this is right outside bedroom 4 so help with storage for that room), 1 love seat and 1 futon-style couch.
The kitchen has a large fridge, 4 slice toaster, micro, dishwasher, NO garbage disposal -- trash is right outside but you will have to have it out there before 6:00 each day or wait until next day. There is a small entry room just off the kitchen--with another full size fridge which we used to store pop, ice, etc.
The kitchen is beautiful wood with a super-long counter and stools on one side. Plenty of cabinets pots, pans, dishes, glasses, cups, silverware, storage dishes with lids, baking trays and ovenware. Under double sink we found dish soap as well as dishwasher soap paks. Extra storage under microwave cart.
The kitchen and dining room are open and next to each other. The dining table is actually two full tables put together and lots and lots of chairs. There are at least 8 chairs -- maybe even 10. Forgot to count them.
Outside are 2 decks--one covered, a bbq grill, a fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs, a swing/glider (big enough for 2 people), 3 picnic tables. The driveway will easily hold 4 vehicles.
It was early July but was in the mid-70s so we kept our windows open. There are good screens because we had no problems at all with bugs. If you get chilly, they had plenty of extra blankets for each room. Some of the things we brought or wished we had brought (besides what they suggested) were: trash bags, paper towels, our own pillows, blow dryers, good bars of soap (theirs were small and fell apart) for the bathrooms, extra towels for the kitchen. There is no light over the stove so some sort of light--maybe a stick-up type--for that area would be very helpful.
If you need anything, they are right there! So very helpful and if you need a repair, they show up right away. We rented fishing boats but saw that they also had kayaks, paddleboards, paddle boats, canoes also available for rent. They have gas, ice and some bait/tackle available, a guide you can hire. Really about everything anyone could want. The fish cleaning station is NICE!! They even have a game room with a pool table and pinball machines. If you need dry ice, there are 2 bait shops in Ely that we found that carried both types of ice. If you like shopping, lots of cool gift shops and a super-fun shop called Cobwebs for the person who enjoys antiques--I could have spent hours in there!! read more
