Biggest problem is that the area is crawling with ticks (and lyme disease) and the Frost Valley doesn't seem to take any precautions - aside from our daughter being reminded once or twice at bedtime to do a tick check. The kids go on an overnight campout where they hike through tall grass and then camp outdoors in tall grass - against all Department of Health guidelines. Not recommended. I see another parent had the same issue as well, which inspired me to write this review as well.

They sent 9-year-olds camping in woods during thunderstorms without tick repellent or education about risks. The camp's family handbook contains no tick/Lyme disease information - inexcusable for a camp in a high-risk area. Medical response was slow (6+ hour delay) and medication was mismanaged. Management refused any refund for sessions missed due to the medical condition acquired at their camp. Three families in our group reported similar operational issues with unresponsive counselors. Save your money and choose a camp that prioritizes child safety.

When the focus is making sure the campers have an awesome experience, it's hard to have a bad time yourself. There's a genuine camaraderie with the staff as we all live and work and spend time off together. Everyone really pitches in to help each other out and boost each other up! My daughter was a camper at camp timbertops for 3 years. The directors knew my child and our…read morefamily. She had a tough end to her summer at camp but she was still wanted to return for the 2024 season. When we tried to login to our account to sign her up for the following summer, we were locked out of the program. After multiple calls to sort it out, we find out that she was not invited back to camp. The camp opted not to tell us that she was not invited back, they just removed us from the mailing list and locked us out of our account. Inviting her back is at their discretion. What is inexcusable and totally unprofessional is not telling us and having us find out by locking us out of our account. Someone had to actively remove our family emails from the distribution list and actively remove our login details from the Camp Minder program. After 3 years of camping with them, they had so little concern for our camper and our family that they didn't call us? This camp does not live up to their mission - they do not care about the families/girls that camp with them.
