I grew up going to this camp . Its very Christian, if your into that sort of thing…read more I have had very good memories in this camp. 50/50. It was my best friends who made it fun . Without them the bullying truly ruined everything for me. Three or four girls would throw things at me, throw garbage on my bunk, call me names and laugh at me and after the 8th or 9th encounter with them I called them white trash and they ran to Scott Wilson crying about it and I was the one who got in trouble. If your kid is prone in anyway to getting bullied, they will Absolutely get bullied here and no, the staff do not care at all . There's no love like Christian love . Also Scott Wilson took a few anime figurines and manga from me and threw them in the garbage . The staff will Absolutely steal from your kid if they don't think it's Christian enough . This crap is a part of the reason why I'm atheist now . What a load of garbage .

Full disclosure- i work at Path of life camp, this is in response to negative reviews to provide…read moresome insight and context to the complaints- First, we have literally thousands of people through our barn every year, we have nothing to hide and no way to hide it if we did. Unlike many stables that would just send senior horses and hard keepers to the meat auction, we keep our horses through the end of their retirement and natural lives. The gray "powder" mentioned was over 30 years old when the video was posted, and hes still alive and well- we had his teeth regularly inspected, but at that age, they are no longer growing to be floated, instead just being lost as they age- therefore he doesnt eat a lot of hay, but is on a senior ration and supplements. Because of his age and weight, of course he wasnt being worked, just free range exercise, thats a big part of the reason why his topline was in such poor condition. Nobody has to take my word for it, we're an open facility for anybody to come through and see our largely overweight herd for themselves. As for the comments on the facilities and security of our summer camp, its important to keep in mind that this was a teen camp, yes, parents are allowed on campus during the week, but campers are supervised such that while they can be easily found, they cant be just snatched from their group. Within seconds of their arrival, they were greeted by a director and guided to their childrens location. For the facilities, theres no question that there were areas greatly in need of updating, including the bathrooms which were in an incomplete remodel- parts had been done but the shower floors had not yet been resurfaced. This work has since been done. The beds in the dorms have also since been replaced. Even at the time, the mattresses were sanitized every week and intended to be covered in camper-supplied sheets, as indicated in the packing list. In regard to being "packed like sardines" this is flatly untrue, the local health department had required empty bunks and 6 feet of spacing between as a covid precaution, about 60% of the bunks were totally empty. Again, dont just take my word for it- while we're hardly the ritz, the camp is aggressively fundraising and working hard to rescue the facilities from decades of dereliction, and welcome visitors to judge the progress and current conditions for themselves.

I'm in love with this stable! I've been trail riding all over for years and Painted Bar Stables…read morewins the Blue Ribbon! Here's why: Erika, the owner, takes the time to learn about each prospective rider before you come so she can pair you with the perfect horse. So be sure and take the time to let them know in the online questionnaire how you are with horses and riding. I'm a confident rider and got a great horse for me where my husband isn't as confident rider and he was paired with a sweet easy going horse, Faye. Actually all the horses are sweet and wonderful. We did a one hour trail ride. The trail was fun - not too challenging and we even got to stop by a beautiful creek so the horses could take a drink. It's absolutely magical & no better way to see the beauty of this region. Now the horses: They are all beautiful, very healthy and thus happy. You can get to know them on the Painted Bar Stables website! Many are rescued and have been revitalized by being in this wonderful place. I can't wait to return.

WOW! WOW! WOW! Where to begin? We try to ride every chance we get and it's a nice time more often…read morethan not. But this one? WOW! This experience was perfect from beginning to end. The website is clear, informative and easy to navigate. The owner, Erika, responded to our ride request personally and promptly. The response was clear and gave us ride time options, which was much appreciated. The booking process was made very easy and stress free. Then we got to the stables! The property is expansive and beautiful. Rolling Hills, gorgeous pastures, shady forest with rivers cutting through it. The horses are phenomenal! It's clear from the first moment that the animals are adored! Exceptionally well taken care of, pampered, and of course it reflects in their tempers! They love their humans and could not have been sweeter to us! Have you ever met a horse who's a hugger? I did today and his name is Sweet Tea! The check-in process was smooth and easy. Even the Gift Shop has some really cute and memorable selections, which is rare! We were a party of 6, 3 adults and 3 kids. Some experienced, some real novices. Our guides, Randall and Zoe were a pleasure from the beginning to end. Zoe - thank you for matching every rider to their horse thoughtfully and perfectly! This young lady must have a sixth sense about human/horse personalities because, as the absolutely delightful owner Erika was describing their wonderful horses, it was sometimes hard to keep track of whether she was talking about the horse or the rider . Randall and Zoe - our guides were respectful, patient, informative, fun, and engaging. They made this experience unforgettable for everyone in the group! Erika stopped by as we were leaving and chatted with us for a while. This wonderful woman is pure joy and a force of nature! She truly loves her horses, staff and customers alike! She talked to us about the horses, their personalities, the stables and our riding experience. Loved meeting her and our guides! Thank you for a fantastic experience! You made all of us so happy! Can't wait to come back again and again!!!

My children return from Camp Cayuga markedly more mature, grounded, and confident in who they truly are. The trust and friendships formed between counselors and campers alike is nothing short of extraordinary. Communication with counselors and division directors has been clear and supportive when needed (we have had some things to work through over the years). My spouse and I were not campers, we were never a camp family, and were initially concerned as sleep-away camp is not for every family. Thankfully, Cayuga has been the "just right" experience for us. We have even referred six other families to Camp Cayuga who have also enjoyed their experiences. (if Yelp could weight ratings based on trusted reviewers with more than only one or two reviews, surely they would be closer to getting the ratings more in-line with reality!)

Everything was so organized and explained that we barely had any questions and when we did the staff was amazing at answering them quickly for us. My 6 & 9 year old boys cried when we left camp and asked why we couldn't stay longer. The had plenty of things for kids to do like lake activities, ceramics, sports and the evening activities were so much fun for them. This is a family run camp and we have already registered for next summer and its only October. I have never done a sleepaway camp as a kid and man did I miss out. I even tried a few things like trapeze and ceramics.
