I got in after a short wait…read moreand Dr. Parker ran me through all the tests (except that one where they blast your eyes with air!!) and was both personable, patient, and professional. I got my prescription and promptly lost it, so I went by a few days later and got another copy; took about a minute. I ordered my new glasses, and when I went to pick them up I realized just how perfectly Dr. Parker got the prescription. I put them on and it was almost like seeing for the first time. The doctor I went to about 5 years ago rushed me through like cattle, then pressured me like a vacuum cleaner salesman to buy their insanely expensive crap. I told the "doctor" that I had high blood pressure and my eyes were exceptionally blurry that day, but he didn't even bother to acknowledge it, much less reschedule the test. The glasses Dr. Parker prescribed for me are amazing; I've never been able to see this well in my whole life. I'm 71 and I still have 20/20 vision but my muscles are very slow to react and things look blurry close-up - but not anymore! I could not be happier with my eye exam.

Came in to buy a self-inflating backpacking mattress, a very basic staple for anyone familiar with…read morebackpacking or back-country camping. I was looking for something along the lines of a Thermarest, a very high-quality, reliable product. The shopkeeper showed me the mattress. I asked she had one the was self-inflating, she said yes but it was in the back and she would have to go get it. The ones on display looked very cheaply made compared to the Thermarest and were not self-inflating. I figured the store seemed like a nice place, so I took her word for and paid almost $144.95 for the one she went in back and got, the "self-inflating" one. After climbing a steep mountain and completely winded, I took out the mattress. There was nothing self-inflating about it. Nowhere on the box did it say self-inflating. There was absolutely nothing to make them think that it was self-inflating. It was the same cheaply made blow up cushion that they had on display. I can't say how disappointed I am. Clearly they thought I was some dumb tourist they could take advantage of and never see again. I am utterly disgusted, I can't believe they thought it would be okay to take advantage of a customer like that, especially after being willing to pay their self-inflated prices, basically just to be nice. I trusted them to be knowledgeable, given that they run a mountain equipment store. There is nothing worse than greed and incompetence, especially when they are together. Reputable outdoor stores like REI and Hudson Trail Outfitters would never sell these products and only carry reliable brands like Thermarest and other comparable products. The products Woodlands Edge sells useless are entirely useless and basically amount to little more than a waste of plastic.

The management team there are former health employees and when they saw an issue with one of their own kids, they started to experiment with different natural remedies, instead of going down the path of extreme medications. I met the wife who was quite friendly. I told her the issues that I was having, which included a plethora of items that I'm currently taking drugs for (medications both prescribed and Over the counter) and she was shocked at how many pills I was taking overall (I'm close to 13). She went through a list of items that would assist me with various issues that I had. - Blood pressure, cholesterol, anxiety, stress, etc. I was able to sample a few of the different oils that are all homemade and bottled in her shop. I ended up picking up a bottle of Peppermint Oil, which has medicinal values (Peppermint essential oil gives a cooling sensation and has a calming effect on the body, which can relieve sore muscles when used topically. I now use the peppermint oil at my desk when I am feeling stressed and take a few inhales of it. I also picked up a proprietary blend that was to help with sleep issues, stress and a load of other items, and it is being used at home via a diffuser. Overall, this is a hidden gem, and is one that should definitely not be hidden. Come take a look and try it out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
