We've been fans of the Orting location since they first opened, so we were eager to try the Puyallup location since moving up on the hill. Very upsetting to find that my chicken was bloody and WAY undercooked. I pointed it out to the waitress and she claimed, "That's not blood. It's just something that happens when a tendon is cut. It's fine to eat". I've been cooking chicken for 30 years and have never seen this in fully cooked poultry.Needless to say, I did NOT finish eating it and was nauseous for the rest of the night. We visited this location twice. First time our waitress was friendly and filled our water very frequently. Our food was ok, we were split between just ok and not very good. More recently we stopped in again and they were out of a few items which was a bit disappointing. We thought this visit wasn't as good as our first. Their pickle chips from our first visit were good but not offered this visit, the spears were ok. Chicago dog had no celery salt and placed on hoagie rolls. One of the rolls split in two pieces when h made a mess to eat. Our male waiter was very nice and friendly. Such a disappointment in service and food, we can't envision coming again. And I rarely say that. Weekend breakfast: yes, they were busy. BUT when they seat people in the wrong order (poor older couple got skipped!), food comes out for some tables quickly and others are waiting 45 minutes who were sat first - this is the kind of thing you don't see very often anymore. The lobby emptied out 3 times before we got our food. My pancakes were hard and cold - had to be sent back. We saw two couples wait, be seated, and leave. That's bad. They're just not efficient here. A third update on my previous reviews, I was in the area and now they have been open for almost a year, I thought why not try one last time. The food (decent) and ambiance (moderate) has improved some, but the consistency of service has improved from moderate to simply good. I still think the hostess desk is poorly managed but overall the experience of eating at Tim's has gotten better. My server, Crystal, was the highlight of the meal I shared with my husband, she was both knowledgeable and accommodating. We ordered a a combo of breakfast and lunch items and all of them were somewhat under seasoned but still reasonably palatable. The unlimited salad bar is a great value and the wait time was decent for lunch on a Sunday. TLDR/ This is still not the best breakfast or lunch option but they have certainly tried to improve the service, food, and ambiance. read more

We have visited this restaurant in Puyallup so n multiple occasions. In the very beginning a few years back they were short-handed and didn't have enough staff, but now there's plenty of staff to serve everybody. Barley a two star. I had the chili dog...it came with a smigen of chili and a few onions. Although plump, the hotdog did not have a good taste and I left most of it. The hotdog bun was "crunchy"...an overall terrible meal. The vegetable soup was tasteless. I added salt and pepper but that did not help much. The menu is extensive. But thats the least and greatest issue I had with this dining experience. The waffle butter had cinnamon mixed in with it, then when the Maple syrup hit the plate it was over. Taste bud pandemonium! After I ate what I could, as a last minute deal I ordered a apple burrito. Don't look like much but my wife called it 'apple pie on the go' since it was in a burrito. I felt like a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream finished it off pretty good, but plain was tasty too. If you get a chance, stop in. Try out the small local places you always just drive past. Had an opportunity to sit down with the owner and he's so amazing to speak with! We love coming here with the family and just us without the kids for breakfast every once in a while. The bacon was cooked perfect the waffles they serve her are some of the best in Puyallup. Love the hash browns, it hard to find them in Puyallyp most restaurants serve fried potatoes or greasy hash browns but not here. The gravy had a good flavor to too and the chicken was cooked perfect has usually We really appreciate the owner taking some time out of his extremely busy morning and speaking with us. Went to Tim's Kitchen for brunch today with my family. The wait was about 15 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad at all! Once we were seated and drinks brought to us, it took over 15 minutes for the waitress to take our order. It looked like they only had 1 or 2 servers for the entire dining room. They are horrendously understaffed. Once we ordered, it took 20 minutes to get our food. The overall quality was subpar at best. The country potatoes were lukewarm, and our over medium eggs were over easy. We ordered the chicken fried chicken, and surprisingly, it was pretty delicious. One of the only things I liked from our entire order. The waffle looked like it came with a sort of cinnamon butter, and it was really good too. This was my first time sitting down to eat breakfast in a restaurant since March of 2020 and I was desperately craving some chicken fried steak. Tim's "new" location on Meridian mostly delivered. We were greeted by a friendly server and seated quickly. We received drinks and our orders were taken promptly as well. I ordered the chicken fried steak, sunny side eggs, and fried potatoes with onions. My wife ordered the Spanish omelette. As you can see by the photo, I mostly received what I ordered but was genuinely feel disappointed to not have received my fried potatoes. The hash browns were boring and a little undercooked. My wife felt her Spanish omelette had some nice veggies but was lacking in cheese and the chili was really bland. The chicken fried steak was delicious with a generous amount of gravy and the eggs were cooked to perfection with amazing runny yolks. Overall, the place is clean and the staff is courteous. A couple sitting next to me had to leave as they commented, " we have been here over 30 minutes, haven't had a refill on their drinks and our lunch break is over. The took their food to go. They staff did give them drinks to go. My food showed up 37 minutes after my arrival. The Denver omelet was full of ham, onions, bell peppers and 1 slice of cheese! My hash browns were half cooked. I had to just eat an get back to work as my lunch break was also over. I'm between coming back another time to see if things change. I really wanted to like this place because I've heard people rave about it. My wife and I went. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and she ordered chicken fried steak. It took almost an hour to get our food from the time of ordering although there were only 2 other occupied tables in the restaurant. When we finally received our food, my cheeseburger was overcooked beyond any recognition of being anything edible. I tried my hardest to eat it but it was disgusting. I'd like to think that my fiancé and I are foodies. We definitely love a good breakfast and choose new spots based on others Yelp reviews. After doing some research on Tim's kitchen, we decided to give it a try. First off, the wait wasn't very long to be seated. After putting our names down we got a text soon after saying that our table was ready. It was Sunday morning so we expected there to be some sort of wait. The restaurant was packed! Upon being seated we were brought our drinks fairly quickly. Our waitress was nice, offered her recommendations and we placed our orders. We waited somewhere in between 45 minutes to an hour for our food. While our coffee was pretty frequently refilled, our waters weren't. Like I said, it was Sunday morning so I expected some sort of wait for the food but just not that long. We ordered the chicken and waffles (chicken tenders), the hobo hash, an omelette, eggs and sausage links, and the stuffed French toast. Chicken and waffles: food was cold upon arrival. Chicken tenders were crispy though. Taste of food was decent. Hobo hash: it has a lot going on. A bunch of meats, hash, and eggs but the food to gravy ratio is way off. I would've asked for extra gravy but I didn't want to wait any longer to eat. Honestly, the look of this specific dish isn't very appetizing. I won't go in to details. Omelette: not bad. The description mentioned diced tomatoes but there were full on slices of tomatoes so that threw me off a bit. I had asked for ham inside my omelette and the ham cubes were just placed on top of the omelette so that was interesting. This came with a side of hash browns. The hash browns were undercooked. Eggs and sausage links: I mean, you can't really mess this up! Sausage gravy was ok. Toast was cold and I don't think it was buttered. Stuffed French toast: came out cold. I expected some glorious mountain of goodness but instead got four slices of frozen box quality French toast with a weird strawberry, cream cheese mixture in the middle. Oh! Also the French toast/pancakes/waffles don't come as a side order. It is sold as a full on breakfast. So although we wanted a stack of French toast to go along with our main dishes, we were forced to purchase an entire other breakfast, so the French toast came with eggs and a choice of meat. Overall, we probably won't eat here again. The price was not worth it for the quality of food. Don't get me wrong, our waitress was friendly but that's about all Tim's Kitchen had going for it. We have been here several times over the last year or so, I often meet for friends for breakfast here and sometimes the family goes out to dinner here. Typically the food is okay, it is nothing exciting or some culinary experience, it is just okay as it is a diner type place. However, lately it has been slipping in service and quality. Last night the we went there for dinner and it was almost empty when we got there, two other tables, greeted fairly promptly, friendly young server, but from there it just slowed down. We all ordered burgers, we asked for medium well to well, but medium well is good enough on a burger for us. First, our food finally comes up in the window after quite the wait, we can see it from where we are sitting, there are two servers working and our server is tied up taking an order from a 6 top that just came in. The other server has been grabbing and bagging to go orders for customers and delivery services but he goes over, sees our food in the pass, moves it a bit grabbing the plates, I assume he is going to be efficient like you should be and bring the food out for the other server that is busy. Instead he walks away, he goes back by it at least once in about 5 minutes, then finally as our server is putting the other order into the computer he decides to bring our food out no that it has been dying in the pass for so long, I believe it was to get it out of his way. My chili burger is rare to medium rare, the meat inside is cold and soft. I wave down the server, explain it to her, she takes the plate to the other server and asks his opinion for she takes it to the kitchen. If you cannot spot a rare to mid rare, cold red meat in center as not being mid well, maybe a diner is not even the place for you. Family enjoys their burgers generally, nothing exciting once again, I eat my fries, chili burger finally makes it way back, server suggests a to go box. Yup, pack it up and let me pay and leave. Three people having dinner there with some mozzarella cheese sticks for app, almost $100. Food sub par, service way down hill, this is the end. We will not be back. read more

First of all, the mimosa menu is extensive with flavors and "float" versions which is ALWAYS a plus. The food was really good too! Our family of four went on Sunday morning at around 10:30 am for breakfast. There wasn't a long wait, but the place definitely was packed. We hoped that was a good sign... unfortunately I think it made it so the kitchen was too busy to do a great job. Our overall impression was that the best thing on the menu was the corned beef hash, but everything else was simply mediocre and in some cases poor (due to their unwillingness to cook anything to order - ie "over-medium" eggs or "crispy" hashbrowns.) Portion sizes were generous, but when they delivered three orders of hashbrowns, which we had all requested "crispy," and they were piled of shredded white with tiny specs of brown here and there, the waiter literally said "the kitchen said that's as crispy as they can do." They were barely warm, much less crispy. I ordered eggs over medium and they came so runny that I could see uncooked whites when i cut into them which grossed me out and I couldn't even eat them. The toast was so dry, it was like they took one pat of butter and spread it unevenly across three orders of toast. The waffle was beautiful looking but I don't love cinnamon in my butter, and I didn't notice it automatically came that way, so that was too bad. The waffle was cold and the butter would not melt, but the syrup was hot which helped. However the syrup was so thick, it almost seemed like caramel, and it was overly sweet and cloying. I could only stand a couple bites. I realize all restaurants are still struggling with staffing after Covid and good kitchen help is hard to find right now. But to literally be told that "this is as crispy as they get," when I have asked for crispy hashbrowns a million times elsewhere and received golden brown rafts of crispy potato goodness, having them say they couldn't be made more crispy was basically a bit of an f-u. So I don't find that to be a good restaurant experience. Especially not for the prices that they charge. It was over $110 for four of us after tip. The kitchen never read the notes on the order which with food allergies is a big deal. Items were asked to be put on the side but they were not. This was my 2nd visit since they opened under a new name. 1st visit- Went by myself for breakfast and sat in the bar. Order 1/2 classic Benedict and asked for the hash browns to be crispy. Service was slim to none. Male bartender had another couple at the bar and two tables. You could tell the couple at the bar were regulars.... I was handed a menu and asked what I wanted to drink.. not a how's your morning or any type of greeting. My food arrived and the Benedict itself was some of the best I've ever had. But the hash browns were a pile of mush... he never once came and asked me how my meal was. I placed my napkin on the plate not touching the hash browns. He asked me if I wanted another drink, I said no and he brought me my check. Never once asked how my meal was or if I needed anything else during my meal. 2nd visit: Today with my son... the server was super sweet however she seemed extremely overwhelmed. It was busy and seemed very short staffed and that's not on her but it showed in her service. she came to our table 3 times.. once to take out order, once to drop it off and once to pick up my card that I laid out. We were never offered refills which were empty during our meal. I ordered the same thing as before and again this place doesn't seem to know how to do crispy hash browns and again I didn't touch them... 14.99 for half an English muffin with a pouched egg, hollandaise sauce, and ham... again the best hollandaise sauce ever... but half a portion with no hash browns I wouldn't eat was not worth what I was charged. I asked about 1 pancake since my son won't eat the bacon or eggs and was still charged the full kids meal price. Not once did she ask how our meal was. Again, she seemed very overwhelmed in a very busy place but still... we got our food before the table next to use who was there before us and I overheard them saying they were about to pay for their coffee and leave because it was taking so long. Ours took about 20 min so theirs had to have been 30/35... I think there is potential but as of this moment I don't plan on returning anytime in the near future. read more

Fire chicken and waffles!!! The chicken batter is just YUM and the chicken is nice and crispy not greasy. This spot is a gem. The jalapeño poppers with the spicy jam are delicious. Good sandwiches , chicken bacon avocado is yummy. I will say it can be a little pricey but it's worth it. It's a small restaurant so they do get very busy and sometimes have long wait times especially on the weekends. With that being said we usually have to plan strategically to come here but it never disappoints!! One thing I will note though is sadly breakfast is not served all day so you do have to plan for breakfast menu or lunch/dinner menu which just stinks because it's limiting.
