I like Steinbach in that it has one of most businesses. It has one Walmart. This cafe is also the only Starbucks in the city. Less is more. Less is perfect. Steinbach has everything that I need. This Starbucks has a drive-thru. All my visits so far have been through the drive-thru. It's efficient and moves well, even with a few vehicles in front of me during one visit. I have oddly not ordered the same drink so far. I normally do. I've had the following beverages: - Iced peach green tea - Cool lime refresher - Summer skies - Iced passion tango unsweetened tea Summer skies was a trenta. The rest were grande in size. I ordered the iced passion tango unsweetened tea without ordering ahead. The young female barista tried scanning the barcode on the app. It wouldn't work. I ended up moving my phone away from the scanner and back. It finally worked, which made us both laugh at how finnicky the scanner was. The rest of my visits have been Starbucks app orders. Take that, weird scanner! My trenta summer skies drink was my birthday treat. It was nice to get a personalized message, all in caps, on my cup, wishing me a great day. It was a nice touch. You can add up to twelve helpings of raspberry boba for the trenta summer skies. I did eight and felt like I was having quite the meal. I'm still working my way up to the maximum and putting a dent in the boba supply... haha I got a head start getting early access to a cool lime refresher. It is by far my favourite refresher. I was so sad when it went away. I'm glad that it's back, likely for a limited time. It's so good. I'm a citrus person and it makes me happy every time I have it. My recent drink order was an iced peach green tea. Like all my drinks from this cafe, they were refreshing, full of flavour, and consistent. Service here is extremely friendly. Once I was checked in to my hotel room and had settled in, I did a search for a McDonald's in Steinbach and found this one. I was curious and decided to order the same Diet Coke for pickup through the app. It said that all fountain drinks were unavailable. Huh? Perhaps maintenance was scheduled on the machines. I'm glad that I took the chance and got my drinks at a different McDonald's. During my stay in Steinbach, I did visit this restaurant twice. Both times were through the drive-thru. I first got a medium iced oat coffee through the McDonald's app. It was $1. I liked changing things up, as I'm not a regular coffee drinker. However, I do enjoy iced coffee, especially when I can get oat beverage in it. I fetched my drink in the morning before heading into Winnipeg. I got a nice woman at the drive-thru. I provided my order code. She found it and said that I could proceed to the next window. She was cheerful. She gave me my drink. I thanked her and continued westbound. I loved my iced coffee. It was cold. It's wasn't too sweet. It was enjoyable to sip during my drive. On my second visit, I got a large Diet Coke. I also ordered it through the app, but was heading back to the hotel after a nice day in Winnipeg. I got a different female staffer. She was nice. It was the same drill. I gave her my order code. I then picked up my drink. Diet Coke at McDonald's is a treat. It's cold, fizzy, crisp, and delicious. I had a great couple of experiences picking up orders at this McDonald's. I love checking out bakeries that are new to me. I pulled into the parking lot and backed into a spot. I then walked in, with a male customer behind me. There were folks seated, stuffing themselves with baked goods and enjoying their conversations. I headed to the baked goods display. I started to drool. Butter tarts. Sourdough brownies. Crookies. I had my heart set on a pain au chocolat. This bakery called it pain aux chocolat. It threw me off. I had never seen it as aux (plural). Shouldn't it be pain aux chocolats if we are insisting on the plural? The woman behind the counter was patient with me. I wanted one pain au chocolat. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and my payment was complete. She put my yummy baked good in a paper bag. I thanked her and left the store, heading to my rental vehicle. I sat in my vehicle, eating my pain au chocolat. It isn't your traditional buttery, flaky croissant from Paris. Rather, it was a more dense baked good with a lot of quality dark chocolate. Maybe this croissant should be modernized to pain aux chocolats because there's a generous amount of chocolate. I just know that my various French teachers over the years would be upset seeing pain aux chocolat. I'd like to return and get a butter tart. It's a decent bakery. Prices do run on the steeper side. My pain au chocolat was $5.10 before taxes. (285)
