I had attempted to replace a garbage disposal, but had an issue with a pipe falling apart. I emailed Rick after 9pm that night, and he responded to my email by calling before 8am the next morning. On the phone call, Rick clearly explained the work to be completed. Rick made the service call himself early in the afternoon, and resolved my issues quickly. He was able to access our crawl space, and navigate his way down there to running a new pipe for my kitchen sink. He installed the Garbage disposal, and cleared the clogged sink drain. The work was performed professionally, quickly.. and priced reasonably. The bill clearly listed all work performed, and detailed pricing. During that time he or an employee have been to the house three times. Each time, between the time I called and when they showed up, things would start working properly again. So they would try to diagnose the issue based on my description and do what seemed to be appropriate, and things would be fine for a while but eventually the problem would recur. So yesterday he showed up with an expensive piece of equipment to properly diagnose the issue, and having done so, brought in another expensive piece of equipment to fix the problem. He was there for over two hours, and along the way, he mentioned what he normally charges for use of that equipment because of what it cost him. I was OK with it; I was just happy to have the problem finally fixed. But when he was done, he said that he wasn't happy about the past "misdiagnoses" and I shouldn't have to pay for them, and he ended up charging me about a third of what I was expecting. When I offered to meet him halfway, he said, "Sorry, I've already entered it into the system, nothing I can do." I can't promise that you'll get price breaks like I got on this occasion, but I can promise that you won't get ripped off, and that you'll get excellent service.
