We had an excellent experience with Utah Basements this past year. They completed our unfinished…read morebasement with 2 bedrooms, large living area, exercise room, utility room, linen closet, under the stairs closet, and full bath. They were able to schedule us immediately once we received all the bids, and the project took roughly 9 weeks from start to final walkthrough. Utah Basements was the second highest bid received, partly because they did not do the flooring (which we got through RC Willey). Communicating with Todd was very convenient, and he responded quickly to text, email, and messages through the UBKB online client portal, where we formally documented design changes. Victor was on site most days and was extremely professional and very friendly. He answered all of our questions, gave helpful suggestions, and always contacted us when there was an issue or he needed direction. Once materials were in, the crew made fantastic progress framing, plumbing, and electrical. The rest of the process went very smoothly, with the minor exception that a bunch of paint touch ups were needed, but those were taken care of immediately. Overall we had a top-notch experience with Todd, Victor and UBKB, couldn't be happier with the final product, and would definitely recommend them if you need a basement finished!

Absolutely Awful!!!…read more After we signed the contract with Renovate Ease to do a complete bathroom remodel, we met with the contractor who would do the actual work and agreed to what would be done and what I needed to order. After all the products came in, I found out that they were having someone else come out to do the work. When they arrived, they had no idea what needed to be done nor how it was to fit. I had to go through it all again. They installed the towel bars incorrectly and had to patch and do it again. Since this was what they thought was the last thing that had to be done, they asked me to sand, texture, and paint the patchwork after it dried. I told them that was their job and discovered that they didn't install the window surround and they could finish the wall when they came back to install the surround. When they came back, the window surround was not the right one, so they took leftover shower wall and used that. The biggest problem we had was when they removed the old vanity, they discovered that the hot water supply valve was leaking. Instead of replacing the faulty valve, they took the supply hose intended for the new toilet and attached it to the faulty valve and placed the end in a bucket to catch the leaking water. In the early morning hours, the valve failed completely and not only flooded the bathroom, but the furnace room below. They did immediately send a team out to replace the valve and clean up the drywall, insulation, and check the furnace, but would not take responsibility to repair the damage. Four different times over a 46-day period, they told me they would come out and repair the damage only to have no one show up and no communication from them until I asked. I finally had to take them to small claims court to have them pay the cost of the repair and pay for damages to an item that was ruined. The night before the hearing, they brought me a check. I went to the hearing to cover my interests, and judgement was in my favor. The owner of Renovate Ease never showed up to the hearing. I have my doubts if they actually have insurance since I was told they would not be contacting me. I would never recommend them to do anything. They do not communicate, the work is haphazard, and it takes forever to get the job accomplished. Update: in response to Thomas' statement about financials, I am ready to pay whomever I owe. The last communication I got was from a company that took over their accounts receivables for whatever reason. I was told not to pay Renovate Ease. As soon as this is resolved, I will gladly pay.

After losing our home to a fire we was confused as to where to start with a new build. When it…read morecame to our bathrooms we was even more confused.... with Sand and Swirl they put our minds at ease we couldn't ask for more... the helpfulness of the girls in the showroom answered so many questions for us. We was able to take our time and look, ask questions, change our minds (well, I'm woman so it's my job to do so haha) . After we made our decision and prepared everything with our plumber we called and gave them the go ahead to do the job. I seldom experience such professionalism that the young man did. He took his time, answered any questions I had and did an extraordinary job. We LOVE our walk in shower and the guest bath shower. Everyone that enters our house loves them as well and I HIGHLY recommend them. These were supposed to be installed at the end of September. They never gave us any indication of any problem until they sent a text message on September 23 saying they could not do our job. But man do I tell you Robert can get so much done even in a day ! We were thoroughly impressed with his work. If we didn't like something or if we noticed something and pointed it out to him, he would fix it. Another thing that we really loved about them is their communication. We always knew when Robert was coming or going. There were no surprises of what time he was gonna show up, which with another company, we had nothing but issues and had no idea when they would show up and do work that was not the case with these guys!! They were both very professional and anytime we made adjustments They provided an updated estimate. Robert would even show us what he did at the end of each day as well. We initially contacted them for one big job in our basement, and we were so impressed with their work that we had them come back for 4 different jobs. I believe them to be extremely reasonably priced. They were a tad more than another company that we looked at, however, we are so glad that we went with these guys over them. I really only had one single complaint if you can even call it that. But sometimes Robert would use things without asking. (One Example: our nice kitchen broom to clean up construction dust) we just bought a new one and didn't say anything cause it's not a huge deal, but do wish he would have asked as we had another broom that could have been utilized for a dirty job. But seriously I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat!
