This is my second review for Tiki Bar because my husband and I love their sushi. I also forgot to add photos to my first review. We always get the No Name roll and usually we get sashimi. The Tiki Bar is right on the marina so great view, cool tiki vibe and ocean breezes. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and have specials throughout the day, including 3 sushi rolls for the price of 2, 4-9 pm. Menu is varied and reasonable, including a page of sushi rolls, Thai salad, burgers, tacos, and nachos. We were in the mood for sushi, so ordered 3 rolls: Rainbow roll (289 pesos, $16), special cilantro roll with shrimp, cucumber, and avocado wrapped in tuna and topped with cilantro sauce, (271 pesos, $18), and the shrimp tempura with cucumber, avocado and topped w/ eel sauce ($264 pesos, $15). Took them to go. They were ok, but not great. Fish and rolls didn't have much flavor, and rice was gummy. Holy moly where has this place been all my life ?!? They get their fish fresh right off the tuna boats and don't have to use every thready scrap so even the spicy tuna that is diced up is luscious prime tuna tenderloin. So many delicious things to choose from but the sashimi catch of the day is awesome and the crispy rice topped with spicy tuna and avocado app is a must try. We came here for the hype on diners drive ins and dives. It fell super short. My stuffed shrimp "eby Nagasaki" was not fresh tasting and the sauce just didn't look right. My Serrano roll was ok but my last two were fishy. Service was lacking. My daughter asked for lemonade and the very young waitress just walked away and sent someone else who spoke Spanish...I speak Spanish she could have just said she doesn't speak English. Out of the 5 of us nobody spoke highly of their dish. Just not worth the stop in my opinion. read more

Visiting from the U.S. and this is not your typical sushi bar. I love sushi but we had it earlier in the week. Came here seeing if maybe there was something else to eat. Boy they sure did! Lots to choose from and we all loved everything. Fish and shrimp tacos were best in class for sure, husband had a cheeseburger also very very good, and daughter had a burrito and said it too was top notch! Very tasty food, drinks of course were good, reasonably priced and service was on point. Small place and looked like more of a bar than a restaurant with such great food. Great service! The gentleman sitting at the bar next to us was also friendly and inviting. I did not drink but was part of the discussions back and forth between the bartender and that sole patron. The bartender gave Ronnie a shot of tequila w/ a worm inside the shot glass on the house. It was my first time seeing that, so I was disgusted and almost gagged just looking at the worm, but I was strong and did not throw up. It was such a kind and generous offer. We were here a couple of weeks ago. The skipper from our morning boat charter brought us here to have them cook up the mackerel my wife had caught and he had already filleted. Definitely a small, casual and funky place but right on the Marina, away from all the boat "hawkers". The servers are friendly and the place has a "unique" vibe for sure - see the pic with the COVID sign... Can't speak to the mixed drinks but they looked good! Guy Fieri has apparently been here too - see pic! They did a great job on the tempura and "regular" frying of the mackerel. Light batter, very tasty and left the mackerel cooked just right. Right at the marina! Staff is super nice and friendly and our food was great. We showed up with a large party and they had no problem with quickly putting tables together for us. We all ordered and got our food which was super yummy. We even went back a couple nights later to eat again the crispy rice appetizer is a meal in and of itself. I still eat here when I am in Cabo. My favorite, Sashimi Palmitas is also known as Curricans is available in many other restaurants. It is still better at the Tiki Bar. Try the Crispy Rice, it is my second choice on the menu. read more

Found this place last minute on yelp and I expected better. Not the best, but at least edible and aesthetic. Their salad contained of shrimp and pineapple-- pretty good. I ended the night with their famous nachos, topped with shrimp, salsa, avocado, and cucumber. The chips were a little too hard but their dip was brilliant. read more

Found this place are seeing was featured of Triple D and the food looked good (plus we were craving sushi but raw fish in Mexico can be a questionable decision). Sushi was great: unique take on traditional rolls, Americanized favorites and a few local inspired ones. Two biggest drawbacks that knock a star off each: drinks were weak and bland. We tried four different drinks and they honestly tasted the same, just looked different in color. This is also a pretty popular place with locals so expect multiple dogs to just be roaming around and table surfing while you're trying to enjoy a meal. A glance at the menu led me to see they have a veggie sushi roll so I ordered that, and omg it was delicious!! My friends tried a couple rolls and they loved all of their food. We also had some nachos bc why not and they came fully loaded. Our server recommended mojitos and they were yummy. Extremely fresh and also had a decent amount of alcohol. Their prices are great and the sushi roll special makes it even better. Definitely a must if you're in the marina or in the mood for sushi. We had two rolls along with 2 orders of sashimi and all of it was fresh and delicious. The service was a bit of a struggle, but at least she was friendly. If you're from USA, and you've ever "indulged" in a California roll from Trader Joe's with a glass of 2 buck chuck, that was essentially the meal we head tonight. I was craving sushi tonight and usually go down to Solomon's... but we were "branching out." I really wish we hadn't. Fortunately, it was cheap... $40 for 4 drinks and 3 rolls. (They made us order three at once for their "happy hour," which was "buy two, get one free.") The rolls seemed like store-bought rolls with fresh(ish) fish on top. If we'd ordered just one, we probably would have asked for the bill and continued on our way. Since we had three, we ate most of them, but we didn't finish any of them. They just weren't good. (We NEVER leave sushi on the table.) The skinny margarita was GREAT, and they were super accommodating when I wanted to try the white wines before I chose one. To that end, the service was good and the place was clean. Mostly American fishermen as patrons. But, the food was so, so mediocre and just not fresh. After 3 straight days of Mexican food, I was doubtful of finding any good asian food, but the food and view here sufficed. Yay! -Wonton chips: 4 wonton chips topped with tuna and savory sauces. -Sashimi plate: delicious and presently nicely -Shrimp tempura and fries: I was craving for fries in particular, but the shrimp tempura served with tartar sauce takes the cake. -Thai mango roll: I didn't care for this too much and probably wouldn't reorder. Great sushi with plenty of non sushi options. We ate there with a party of 6 mid afternoon on a weekday and were seated with no wait. Between the six of us we had 6 or 7 rolls, a sashimi plate, Tempura, a chicken sandwich and a burger with fries. We all had beers and a smoothy, all for under $100. The service was great, friendly staff, they take US $, pesos or credit cards. There's seating at the front that looks out over the marina and security keeps the vendors from bothering the restaurant patrons. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Cabo!! read more

While there is a fancier looking place next door, the Tiki Bar is a gem. Given its location to the marina (look at it from your seat), the fish, cooked or not, is so fresh. We witnessed a fisherman selling his catch of the day to the chef while we were there. The ceviche may be the best we've ever had. A very tasty lemon drop martini too. 'A guy with a guitar' showed up to play some live tunes while we were there and he enhances the experience. This place is well worth a try. I'd be surprised if you were disappointed.
