Visit this location after placing a pick up order on my app. This was my first time visiting this location and the interior is one of the coolest Tijuanas I've been to. When I got there, they asked me the name for my order and I told them they said they were working on it and then went onto making my drink showed me where the Togo cups for sauces were if I wanted to take any hot sauce at home. Super friendly staff, and by the time I was filling up to go sauce my order was ready, and I was out of there. When I got home, my blackened chicken quesadilla was delicious. Food is consistently good at this location. Double stack steak tacos are my go to. The soft tortilla holds everything together while you still get the crunch of the hard taco. Counter service was quick and efficient. The staff consistently came by to make sure we were topped off on drinks and had everything we needed. The crushed ice here is also top tier. Ambiance is very casual, can get a bit loud during busy times. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back! read more

Accidentally went to the dentist a week early so since they obviously couldn't see me decided to have a late lunch and I'm new to the area from Dallas and decided to check this place out. Couldn't have possibly had a better experience. Row/Roe? and Elena were an absolute delight as well as a man that I believe might be the GM. Everything was clean and organized and the food came out in a timely manner and tasty delicious. This is the first place I have found in 11 months of being in the Tampa area that has queso that taste like Texas. Everywhere else is bland and both their yellow and queso blanco we're great. I stopped by a couple of times, but was disappointed. Today I got 2 carnitas tacos and upgraded to a meal. The 2 tacos alone were about $11, the meal upgrade was over $18. The tacos were good sized, with a good portion of meat. The carnitas was a little bland and soggy. Taste was good when spiced up with some hot sauce. The tacos came with chips, the Order taker asked me if I wanted salsa but didn't tell me there was a charge. The serving of salsa was tiny and I was charged $1.29. Most restaurants give it for free. The meal upgrade sucked. I got about one ounce of very salty black beans and a similar small plastic serving of rice, along with a fountain drink. The containers are so small you can't get a forkful out. The first time I went I just got tacos. That was a better value - I wasn't served an $18 lunch today. A store employee came by and asked me how lunch was - I told her the beans were almost inedible they were so salty. She just got confused and left without offering any solution. read more

I have officially been to two Tijuana Flats in the nearby area now. I have to say, as the workers did they me this one is new, it's so nice and fancy! I mean nothing wrong with the other ones, but the layout and decor of a newer Tijuana Flats like this one was amazing! I truly loved it. The food here is always awesome! We ordered a taco meal, and a salad meal. The salad was ALOT of food, definitely enough for more than one meal. Awesome service and very quick. I love that they don't charge extra for full toppings like guacamole and sour cream like other restaurants. And I have to say their guacamole is one of my favorites for sure. So tasty! read more

This was my first time visiting Tijuana Flats, so I ordered online and opted for curbside pickup. Gladly I did this, because it's a Friday night and they were packed! I ordered the New queso crunch burrito, with grilled chicken, double sides of refried beans, and a refreshing Coca Cola to drink! I must say the service was incredibly fast, and the server who brought my food was a doll! Just a warning: if you order what I did, do not attempt to eat this while driving. It is an insanely messy, large burrito! At first I was skeptical about the flavors, I felt like too much was going on with the flavors, but then I hit the crunchy part and that part was heaven! I wish I could have ordered it grilled! I will give the burrito a 7/10 score because it wasn't my absolute favorite, but it was still very filling. The chips, queso and salsa that came with the combo on the other hand, were the best I think I've ever had. Specifically the salsa. I could order a whole gallon of this salsa and consume it all myself. I loved it. The refried beans were pretty good too! Worst food I've eaten in a long time. Ordered carnitas tacos for just over $11.00. Got a soft flour tortilla with a bunch of lettuce, some tomatoes. A little cheese, some mayonnaise type sauce and a lump of pork fat on one taco and the other had the same with about 3 very stringy pieces of pork (minus the fat). I circled the hunk of fat in the picture. See the size in relation to the chip. Taste was bland. Was I supposed to smother this in one of their hot sauces to make it better? The food here is NOT TEX-MEX! You're better off going to Taco Bell!! The portions look good on the outside, but the filling is disproportionate to the size. I ordered the steak chimichanga and what I got was a LOT of tortilla with a small amount of steak (maybe a tablespoon or two's worth). Really sad. Pictured is about 3/4 of the meat. From the moment walking in and being greeted to the on point cashier to the quick delivery of the large hot delectable portions of food and amazing attitude of every single employee in the place I just couldn't be more impressed. Everyone genuinely seemed happy and so extremely helpful that the 2.00 tip at the cashier just didn't seem enough and my husband and I found ourselves wanting to add more before we left. A genuinely wonderful experience and some of the best service I have come across, even from 5 star restaurants. I love Tijuana Flats. It's been one of my family's go-tos since moving to Florida nearly fifteen years ago. The hot sauce bar is the big draw for me. They have an assortment of all different types of sauces to sample, from the wimpy mild sauces to the "death wish" sauces. (Jason's Mom is my personal favorite). All of their ingredients are freshly made; never frozen. They have a great value two-taco meal on Tuesdays. They have many many options to choose from regarding toppings, protein, size, and type - tacos, flautas, chimichangas, burritos, nachos, etc. I've tried them all! And they have plenty of vegetarian options. As much as I love Tijuana Flats, this isn't my favorite location, which is unfortunate, as it's the closest location to my house. The tacos at this location are notoriously skimpy, arriving at the table half-full. If you want tacos, choose the Lumsden/Causeway location. If you eat here, opt for the chimi or burrito instead. read more

My first order was delicious and I got hooked but then the service started going downhill. Don't ever get curbside. Twice in a row I was left sitting outside and no one even noticed. The workers told me the app was broken or something. Then they brought me my food that had been sitting FOREVER and didn't even care that it was cold and gross and that the service was awful. I purposely ordered curbside so I didn't have to take my baby in. It didn't use to be that way. If orders weren't ready they would give you a drink for your wait or something similar. This is probably my favorite Tex Mex place. Everything is so fresh! It tastes good and looks good too. Very kid friendly. Inside and outside seating. Staff is friendly and helpful- opening doors and helping to navigate the menu, delivering food to the tables. I love love love the sauces. So many to pick from. Today I tried the taco salad for the first time -yum! The kids love the dos taco combo. Full disclosure, I just moved here from California and 4 meals at our favorite Mexican restaurants in San Diego before we moved to Florida. Why, because I knew nothing here would compare to carne asada from Niko's, the best Mexican food anywhere outside of Mexico. Heard good things about Tijuana Flats so we decided to try it. Overall, it was ok. Staff was very friendly, decor was actually pretty cool, but a restaurant is all about the food. The food was just ok. My wife thought her steak burrito was good. I thought my steak tacos were a little below average. Meat had a different texture. Not bad, at all, just not my favorite. Flavor was kind of bland. And this is why I gave it only 3 stars despite a great staff, they seem to focus on the hot sauce. That is cool, hip, and trendy, I get it. But if you are going to do tacos and burritos, you should probably offer a variety of salsas. The another issue I have, and this is because of covid, you have to ask for the hot sauce at the counter because their hot sauce bar is closed. There is no description of the hot sauces at the counter. That is fine for someone who is familiar with the restaurant, but for a first timer like me, I had no idea. Finally, the price is pretty steep for what you get. We have a place called Rubios in CA. Similar concept, but way better execution. I would suggest the corporate people take a trip and visit, they would get some great ideas. Anyway, Rubios is a similar price point for a two taco plate. But they include rice, beans, chips with a salsa bar. Chips without salsa are pretty much useless. I probably would have given 4 stars if they had included rice and beans, better value, and had salsa with their chips. While I know some of my issues are because of Covid, we are several months into the crisis. Businesses should have adjusted by now. So, staff, location, decor, 5 star. Food, 3 stars, value 1 or 2 stars. Overall, 3 stars. Sorry, forgot one item. The nachos were AWEFUL, I mean like the worst I have ever had. They say queso on the menu, and then they throw a little bit of shredded cheese. Maybe people in Florida don't know what queso is, but coming from CA, we do. Used to be good but every Time I go it gets worse last week I have burrito with extra meat and a quesadilla for 26 bucks everything I asked for in the burrito they gave me none of it they messed my order completely up I had to drive all the way back there kind of frustrating and then they didn't even fold it right it just fell open then I ordered a taco salad only to find out that they don't have taco salads no more instead I was handed a side salad something comparable to going to Applebee's and getting a side salad it was small no taco shell no taco stuff just some sprinkle cheese and chicken and a Sprinkle of four diced tomatoes on top they were very polite swap my order out for something else I actually went next-door to Wendy's and ordered a taco salad and it's a shame that their taco salad and their salads at Wendy's are better quality than TijuanaFlats just kind of sad still not the taco salad I wanted thank you have a good day but it was at least twice the size 3 dollars cheaper than twice the amount of ingredients shaking my head are used to stick up for Tijuana Flats because I like them so much now I'm wondering what it is I ever light read more

Needless to say, but we've been waiting for this new location to open for some time now. Living near here, most will attest that the food options are limited in this area (good food), so to drive by and see the sign saying that they were opening today brought some excitement (yes, life has been slow lately). I wasn't sure if going on opening night was a great idea as the thought of other locals knowing this place was now open brought about the fear of very long lines and wait times. Well, in our case, only the latter happened. The line wasn't too long and they had 4 order takers working with the training managers behind them helping input orders correctly (mostly). After ordering, the extremely nice girl taking our order said our food would be up in about 7 minutes, which shocked me because I've never had a ticket time relayed to me at any Tijuana Flats I've visited. With hopes high, the 7 minutes turned into 15, but not before a manager (they were everywhere) came over and apologized for the wait, and handed me $10 worth of free food coupons. To say that the customer service was good would be grossly underestimated. From the time we walked in till the time we left we had a barrage of employees asking if they could get us anything, if we needed free drinks, or letting us know how much longer our food would take. Yes, you would expect as much from a restaurant when they first open, but to witness it in action is another thing. The fact that they forgot my small side of queso can easily be forgotten because of how well we were treated, and because of how good the food was. After a couple of weeks go by, all of those bugs will disappear, and things will run just as smoothly as all of the other restaurants, the trick will be to keep it up.
