We have yet to find a fast food burrito place as good as Tijuana Flats. Nothing else compres! Every time we're in Florida we search for the closest Tijuana Joe's just in case. This particular one we went to two days in a row. We almost always get the chimichanga, but this visit we tried a few other menu items. We liked the atom bombs which are kind of like a jalapeño popper flauta as a starter. I got their tacos which I enjoyed, even more so because they're hard shells and it's not that easy finding places that do that outside of Taco Bell. For dessert we tried the churro fries with chocolate sauce and they did not disappoint! Would be nice to have a chain in GA, but until then we'll continue to carve out at least one visit every trip. read more

To start, we ordered through Door Dash at work one day, so this was a delivery order. I was in the mood for a fish taco, so I ordered that with the sides of beans and rice. Well, it was about what I would expect from a fast food franchise type place. First off, the chips were very flat and plain. No seasoning, no salt, no crunch. The salsa seemed fresh but watery. My taco was ok but there was way too much paprika on the fish which threw off the taste. The fish itself was flaky, well-cooked but it was overwhelmed by the topping. The one saving feature of the taco were the pickled onions. Now those were done well. As for the rest of the meal, the portions were small which was ok since I didn't like the rice or the beans. Again, not a lot of good flavors. No real seasoning to the rice which was dry, and the beans were lackluster. I've had Tijuana Flats before from a different location and was sorely disappointed by this one. read more

Here to convince everyone that the best Tex-mex experience exists and it's right here. Forget about Moe's, Chipotle's, or any other poser. THIS is all you need. And THIS LOCATION is all you need. I love being able to have sour cream and guacamole on the side. I love that crispy, cheesy, quality tex-mex. And most of all, I love the staff here and getting that 5-star restaurant service at a fast food place. Would drive an hour just to this specific location. read more

Tijuana flats used to be sooo good. Now the hot sauce bar is always nasty & my queso was rock hard. It's way to expensive for as gross as it is. We went two night ago and said this is their 'last chance' with us. We won't be back. read more

Took 35 minutes to get our food. There were only four customers in the whole store at lunchtime, two workers. The tacos were the worst. I had red grease running down my arm dripping on my plate. Absolutely disgusting. The nachos were burnt. It was an absolute joke. Will never eat there again. read more

We were starving and this was a great place to get rid of the HANGRY FEELING! At first, the place seemed empty and closed, but we decided to try the door anyway. I was glad that the place was indeed open. Our food was hot and tasty and the service was amazing. Everyone was so helpful by making sure we had refills, asking if any empty plates could be moved from our tables, and c even taking the orders correctly! I do wish, however, that the store was a bit cleaner. But other than that, my experience was A-OK! read more

Staff is very pleasant and helpful! I have Celiac Disease, and cannot have even trace amounts of gluten, so it was nice that they knew how to help me stay safe. It helps to arrive when it is not real busy so they can take their time preparing your food using all of the Celiac safety precautions (which they did). I ordered a burrito bowl. All of the proteins are GF and the rice, black beans, cheese, Lettuce, tomato, onions, are as well. The chips and taco shells are NOT. The meal was filling but it sure would've been nice to have some chips for texture! Price? There were 3 of us eating and before tip it was $56 and some change (no alcohol). Pleasant environment. Very clean. Great place for folks of all ages! read more

Tijuana Flats - Classic Chicken Burrito Bowl - Tex-Mex Near Me - Port Orange, Florida

Horrible experience with catering department. First port orange chargers thirty dollars to deliver whereas Daytona just let's you tip. Person who took order reassured me it would be plenty of food for 20 ppl upon arrival food was portioned in tiny cardboard containers that I had to open and transfer to bowls. All sides were also portioned bizarre and when manager said they'd make it right I got another $100 charge. $300 and didn't have enough meat, rice or beans for 10 pple read more

My son introduced me to this restaurant. I love the atmosphere and the trendy decor they have. Very colorful. The service was amazing and everyone was very friendly and nice! It's not a traditional restaurant. You order like you would at McDonald's, but they bring you your food like a traditional restraunt. I ordered a Baja lime shrimp protein bowl. It was absolutely delicious. I think I paid $11 dollars for it. I also ordered chips and queso. That was delicious, too. The only thing I would change is their guac; it's very bland. Other than that, I like this place. read more

The food is always amazing. The staff is always knowledgeable and very kind. I do have a MAJOR thing to complain about.... the temperature in there is ridiculous. I was sweating while eating. The staff deserve better. They should not be forced to work in that... especially your cooks! Do better for them. read more

Tijuana Flats - Two crispy beef tacos and chips and gold cheese - Tex-Mex Near Me - Port Orange, Florida

Tijuana Flats I had never heard of this chain until I moved to Florida, and boy, I'm happy to have found Tijuana Flats! The "other taco place" that shall remain nameless had grown stale and boring. Nothing new was happening there. Tijuana's felt refreshing. Fresh and full of flavor! It's like a cross between the fast-food chains and a sit down Mexican restaurant. I'm talking about a TexMex cornucopia of deliciousness! Bring your appetite and start with the chips and queso! Or as I like to call it, "chips and liquid gold". It's that good! Their salsa and quac is outstanding too! For entreés, you can look forward to nachos, burritos, tacos, flautas, chimichangas, Mexican pizzas, fresh salads, and quesadillas, with choices of ground beef, steak, blackened and chipotle chicken, fish, black and retried beans. Yum! And if you have a big appetite? Fear not! Ask for the Meganuana option- Double meat and double cheese- oh my! Remember, I said bring an appetite because you'll want to leave room for dessert. Their churros or cookie dough flautas are "OMG good"! You're going to love this place. It's a fun and funky little chain that I hope will be around for a long time! Olé! And that, amigos, is all she wrote! read more

Fast Food on steroids might be a fair description, but Mexican Restaurant is maybe a stretch in my opinion. Looking at the 4.5 review average I thought "really" after getting my order, although I was impressed with the traffic through this place. To be fair every place can't be everything to everyone and maybe my expectations were slightly higher than they should have been when visiting this location. But we left disappointed and wanting more. The store is beautiful on the inside it was slightly unkept but the staff was working hard to clean it up and they were all very friendly. The hot sauce bar was oddly amusing and necessary since the small cup of salsa was quite bland and is a chargeable option. The chips were typical chips from a bag and quite stale today but again this is fast food and it appears their niche is that they serve beer and the bottled hot sauce bar. We both ordered the elongated tacos they were pretty bare inside but the ingredients were of good quality. Nothing bad here by any means just not my thing I guess. I just think it could be so much more... read more

I have not been to Tijuana Flats in about a year as there are a lot of Mexican choices in the area. Today I was thinking of how good the quesso used to be. I ordered the blackened chicken nachos. The quesso is now watered down and the blackened chicken was very sparse. On the plus the guacamole was still great and the variety of sauces if fun. It just seems like they are more focused on reducing costs at the expense of the great quality I remember. read more

In the 5 years that I have been coming to this location the food has always been great and service even better but recently it seems to have gone downhill fast. I'm not one to write reviews but this is one worth mentioning. The quality of the food has drastically changed along with the cleanliness of the place. My food was soggy and looked like it was just thrown on the plate. There are always bugs on the hot sauce bar. The floors are nauseating just about every time. Chips were greasy and undercooked, it felt like I was chewing on old cardboard. I was taken care of more like ignored by what I think was the general manager. She rushed through taking my order and made me feel like I was a burden to her the entire time. All for her to run to the back of the restaurant and giggle with the rest of the staff. I really hope she doesn't treat every guest like this, but it might explain why it seems so slow now. It goes along with the child like atmosphere here. There are toys EVERYWHERE and no place to sit because the few tables they do have were dirty. I thought this was a place to eat not a daycare. Seems unsanitary to me. Or maybe it is a management problem because I have never seen it like this in all the times I've been here. Disappointed is an understatement, looks like it's time to find somewhere else for lunch. Hopefully this place can get it together before they close with the rest of them. read more

Terrible tacos that'll haunt you in your dreams. Not flavorful meat and added store bought cheese and tomatoes and lettuce. First of all, no one in Tijuana makes tacos like this... Glad this wasn't the first taco of my life it'd be a bad beginning to a wonderful world of Tacos! Update: Updated my review because business commented friendly very quickly here. It's good to see they do the best to serve good quality food and take feedbacks serious. Location was 1760 Dunlawton and I was passing by, so I won't be able to revisit you guys. I hope you level up your tacos. read more

So I used to live 5 minutes from actual Tijuana. This is Tijuana TexMex which means it's awesome Mexican food, different from border food, and still good. I ate the two steak tacos. The steak was warm, the taco looked great, like each piece of jalapeño and steak were placed perfectly. The guacamole is good and the water from their tap is crisp and clean tasting. Bathrooms are clean, tables clean, very well kept place. The staff here is super friendly and very good at suggesting meals if this is your first time. Even the chef comes out to make sure everyone is doing good. I was hear by myself and there were only a few other customers at the time. If the staff isn't busy, they spend their time making sure the customer were happy as well as making sure the store was clean. I'd absolutely eat here again due to the food, service, and atmosphere. Thank you Tijuana Flats!! read more

So we decided to try a new local place and this place far exceeded what I figured it would be. The food was excellent and freshly prepared and the portions were large so you won't walk away feeling underfed In fact you will feel stuffed I'm not a guacamole fan but my other half is and she said it was great and and she would know seeing how she makes her own from her own trees The bottom line is that we will be back and this isn't another Toco Bell and beats Tex Mex hands down read more

This place has a great vibe to it. There is paintings on the walls and it can be considered a very vibrant place. It is pretty clean and has nice tables and chairs. What I really loved about this place was the variety of sauces they had to offer. There were all different sauces from super hot to tangy and to sour or sweet. This was the second time I have been to a Tijuana Flats. I really enjoyed the meal. I would definitely recommend if your looking to try something new or even just go out for lunch or dinner with family/friends. The customer service was also pretty good. The waiters were nice and the cashier as well. read more

Food is good but whatever you do, don't order for delivery. They seem to bulk deliveries together which delays your/others drastically. When I used their app to place my order, it said delivery by 6:31pm. I received a notification that it was picked up and still had the same delivery time. Then following them on the map, my delivery time moved to 6:50, then 7:12, then 7:18, then 7:31. It was getting out of hand fast. I called the restaurant and was told it's DoorDashes fault and there's nothing they can do. I ordered thru them not thru DoorDash. So there was nothing I could do either. Food did arrive, about an hour late and cold. A very disappointing experience. read more

We usually go to isb location and tonight I know why. I called to place my order because gift cards do not work on the app. The guy who took my order was rude and it just went down hill. We got there we were not greeted for a good few minutes. Once we were we got our orders and they were not right. The only thing good about the order was the salsa. We have decided to not return and go back to the isb location. I suggest the same for other people. read more

If I could put ZERO I would!!! This was the WORST burrito I have ever had! I took 2 bites me and my boyfriend and threw in the trash. Where are the good Mexican restaurants here??? I have not found one. In California the Mexican restaurants are phenomenal. First off...the Tortilla wasn't even heated up cooked nothing. Second the chicken tasted processed and just gross. Third the, salsa tasted like tomato paste no flavor no Cilantro, just gross. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY Run! read more

This place is overpriced, cheap, and not very tasty. I ordered a steak burrito and the meat was chewy and not grilled. It was kind of like Alpo out of a can (woof, woof!). I wanted pork, but they didn't have it. There's a Chipotle's across the street and their pork is pretty darn good! Another thing I disliked was that I paid extra to "make it wet" with salsa verde on top. When she brought it out, there was hardly any salsa on it. 99 cents for a thimble full of "wet" is a rip-off. It wasn't "wet" at all. I'm kind of neutral on Chipotle's, but they kick Tijuana Flats' ass all over the place. I'll never go back here. read more

My rating system is based upon type and style of restaurant. Fast-food can be a 5 star for fast-food category. This location is great. They are friendly and the prices are good. I eat here very often, multiple times per week and the food quality is high every time. Likewise, the portions are dependable each time. I prefer this location more than the location in Daytona because the portions are larger at this location and the have never gotten one of my orders wrong. I typically use the app and curbside. The app is user friendly and you get rewards quickly. read more

First I love this chain. Still miss the one in Ormond but that makes me usually go to Daytona in stead. This location in Port Orange is bigger and has plenty of fun things to look at in decorations. The hot sauce bar is a must - look for the face with the x'd out eyes. HOTTTT!! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is bright and fun. Order at the counter when you come in and then sit. Usually a decent wait... I try to always order online for pick up. Great food! Highly recommend! Tijuana Tuesdays have the best deal

Horrible food..dry..tasteless..almost choked..order not complete..Total waste of money!!!!

If it was POSSIBLE to give zero stars I would have! Absolutely the worst Tijuana Flats experience ever. I get it when a restaurant is under staffed and I can respect when things are backed up but this is TexMex and we waited over an hour for tostados and dos tacos...I watched 6 guests wait the same amount of time and never get their food so they demanded refunds and left. NO food was coming out of the kitchen...even the online orders were waiting...standing around...so again, zero food coming out of the kitchen! When I asked the response was that they were just really backed up. When I went to find out what the status was the lady in a blue Tijuana Flats shirt was just standing in the back doing NOTHING!! If people have been waiting an hour, you BETTER jump in the back and start doing SOMETHING. For the record, I have never left a negative review on Yelp but this was ridiculous! read more
