This has to be the best location I've ever eaten from. They actually get the memo. I always order steak flautas with extra steak. Usually at the past locations I've gone to, they rarely put any extra steak in them and it's the normal amount they would normally put. This location actually put the extra steak in them. Simply not good. Think of generic version of Taco Bell. Prices are consistent with the quality at least. The taco salad was not half bad and is not available at Taco Bell, so that might be an option. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

So good, really good I got steak tacos and my friend got the ground beef tacos both were delicious. Served with a side of fresh chips and a hot sauce/salsa bar. It was so nice to be able to taste so many different sauces before putting them on my tacos. The beer was served ice cold always a plus. Service was 100% the girl that took our order was super nice and helped us with our selections. The have really neat original art work on the ceiling tiles and art work hanging. Can I ask why T-flats took their Spanish rice off the menu. I went there for their black bean tacos, black beans, and Spanish rice every week ever since they took the Spanish rice off the menu it's just not the same anymore and I really haven't been back much. just curious because it was my favorite meal of the week. We went to eat there on Sunday for a birthday and I had the nachos with ground beef and everything on it minus the jalapeños, but it came out with jalapeños anyway. I just took them off. I was hungry and didn't want to wait again. It tasted good, but that evening into the next day, I sorely paid for it. The nausea was awful. I'm better now but I won't be visiting them again. Oh....my.....goodness! This food was delicious! My family vacationed on Anna Maria (Bradenton Beach), and we ordered from Uber. I ordered the mega burrito, just thinking it would be slightly larger. It was 3x larger! It was delicious! Hubby ordered the mega bowl, he barely made a dent, but I hear it was great. We also got the Atom Bombs for an appetizer, what can I say but yum! Not sure what happened to this place. Used to be an OK place to grab mexican food quickly. I have frequented Tiajuana Flats, long before this location existed. When this particular location first opened, they were on par with the others I had been to. Unfortunately this has been on a long downward slide to not edible. When they first opened, they were a solid 4....based on price and quality. They are ONLY getting a two because of the hotsauce bar, if that did not exist, I would sadly have to rank at a one. Last trip: I ordered the blackened chicken chimichanga with an addition of a taco (inclusive of rice and beans). The app of chips and queso, was plated with stale chips. My blackened chicken in my chimichanga was hard, cold, dry chewy chunks. It was really disgusting. Obviously been sitting around for a long minute. The black beans were cold and coagulated, and the rice was not much better in being unflavorful and cold. Circling back to the chimichanga, since when did they slap on queso sauce? I did not request to "make it wet"...were they trying to hide the grossness that was underneath? This has been two times in a row that random queso was slathered on top. The taco was ok, beef was leaking grease. This was during a high peak of dinner times, 6pm. I would not expect to recieve food so old and cold. There were a total of two tables in the whole establishment. Two at mine. Two at another. There were at least five employees that I counted. So definitely more employee to patron ratio. Saw two to go orders go out. So, what were all the employees doing? Obviosuly not making sure there was a decent quality control happening, with the infrequent orders that were hitting the kitchen. (I worked in restaurants for a good 15 years in about every position in my early days. I also know, there are staffing issues....but come on....almost EVERY industry has a staffing issue at this point. This experience was NOT a lack of staff) Also, no one coming around to refill the sodas (that used to happen once upon a time). I believe Tiajuana Flats is now considered a franchise. The powers that be, need to buckle down and retrain this specific location. The other locations are operating at par. Cortez, not so much. I hope they turn around, since the location is convenient; but until then, I will abstain until I am at another location. No sense in killing off $35, on two crappy meals and a good tip (questioning what the heck I even tipped for now.) Fingers crossed they really take in consideration the other 1 and 2 star reviews that are floating around with this specific location, as it indicates a serious meltdown. read more

Great place to grab some Mexican food. Quick and pleasant service, with plenty of salsa options to heat up any dish you order. We had the Atom Bomb appetizer which was top notch. Main entree was chimichanga and a burrito bowl. Both filled us up with the appetizer. Enjoyed the peach and honey salsa, the habanero had my ear drums burning. I have never had a hot meal here. The barely-there cheese is never completely melted. While sometimes fresh, the ingredients do not appear to be the best quality. The service is great, while the food is always inconsistent. My order is inaccurate every time I visit--- for example; today my entire appetizer was missing from my take-out order. Three stars and 0 tips due to a girl named Beth's attitude when I placed my order Then when I went to pick it up,I brought my boyfriend with me whom also over heard the phone order. When we went to pay her she was STILL continued with her attitude. That was the first time in the past 6yrs that I've been there and had anyone working there be so rude. My husband and went tonight 6:30pm his tacos were warm/good. My banging chicken burrito was cold even the "wet" cheese queso ontop. A young lady asked how the food was I told her it was cold and she walked to the back never to return/not another word. Upon leaving I told (3) behind the counter my meal came to the table cold. One girl behind the counter said want me to remake it will only take 30 seconds. If 30sec is all it takes to deliver a "warm" meal why not present a warm meal to your patron? Love love this Tijuana. I always go to Tijuana for taco tuesdays on the east coast and I was not disappointed here when visiting the west coast (of Florida). Staff treats me well, when they see me coming they open the door for me even open door for me to leave... When ever I see a staff member they have a cheerful smile... Very very average Mexican. Chips were bland, the guac bland and served at almost a sub-zero temperature. The Maui-Maui tacos were mediocre at best. Definitely has the 'Hipster' wannabe feel. When I didn't get my order by the estimated time, I called Tijuana Flats to check on the order and was told it was ready and waiting at 7:50 p.m. When I asked when Uber was going to pick it up, I was told by the person at Tijuana Flats who answered the phone that it was "not their problem". So...Tijuana Flats has chosen to outsource their delivery and believes that it all falls on Uber Eats when it goes wrong, but ultimately, its Tijuana Flats' product that shows up at my door (or doesn't show up at all) with no communication even though they see the food sitting there since 7:50 p.m. No dinner. Tried Tijuana Flats for lunch for the first time with the family. We were quite pleased with our experience. Food wise this is on par with a Moe's. Great burrito. Excellent chips and 15 different salsas. I highly recommend it! You can select from a really mild sauce ( aka sissy sauce ) to the Hell-fire and brimstone variety of something relating to ghost peppers or beyond. So, you can go from "Meh" to "Holy Moley" in no time flat. Our server was a delight, and was able to bring someone who was a first-time visitor up to snuff with all the varieties of sauces available. Ok to start if you are looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant keep looking. That being said Tijuana Flats hands down is the best fresh Mexican fast food (for lack of a better term). A great value for lunch with taco Tuesday's and throwback Thursday's. The staff is very friendly and does a great job with first time guests explaining the menu and hot sauce bar. Hot sauces range from sissy sauces to death wish with a variety of flavors in each leave. The also have bottles for sale if you find the one you can't live without. read more
