Tips: - Gong Cha has daily specials…read more - The Line Friends merchandise is awesome. On Saturday, I had placed a takeout order at Swiss Chalet. I had fifteen minutes to kill before heading over to the restaurant to pick up my food. I decided to check out the stores across from this restaurant, as I haven't been here in ages. I found this Gong Cha between the Bell store and Tahini's. The food scene is much better here than it was a couple of years ago. I saw RUDY nearby, and a Mac and Wings plac, too! This plaza always has a lot of parking. I pulled into a spot and walked in. Two staffers were there. The male one greeted me immediately and was so friendly. I was looking at the daily specials. I wanted a fruit drink and the daily special was a milk one. I was looking at the drink menu and got completely sidetracked by the cute Line Friends keychains in front of me. I got the Binini (brown bear) keychain. Okay, back to the menu... I ordered a large peach green tea with coconut jelly. My usual is to get it with no sugar and less ice, which I did. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. Both the male and female staffers worked on my drink. I barely had time to take more photos when my drink was ready. I thanked both of them and headed out with my drink. After I had picked up my dinner at Swiss Chalet, I took the backroads home and had my drink. I had an issue with the straw. The pointy end of the straw wasn't sturdy enough. I actually crushed it trying to stab my drink's seal with it. I ended up using a sturdier bubble tea straw that I had in my car (I have reusable straws and cutlery in my car because I'm ridiculously prepared for emergency drink and food issues). Much better! I loved my drink. It was cold and delicious. The peach flavour was perfect. I could taste the green tea. The coconut jelly made this drink sweet and I love it. So good! It's nice to see Aurora with a bubble tea joint. I should visit Aurora more often. I will now after visiting this Gong Cha! (214)

We sat and chatted for a few minutes until our drinks were ready. I forgot to ask if the sugar level could be reduced but full levels of sugar wasn't too bad. I just would've preferred it less sweet. I was surprised that I could actually taste ginger in the drink. I saw in another review that the hot drink was not actually hot. I can confirm that mine wasn't hot either, more on the warm side.

The place that used to be there was some burrito eatery a while back. I used to spend a ton of time in Aurora years ago. It's nice that York region has recently loosened the lockdown strings that it made me want to rediscover Aurora. Yesterday, I learned that it was this CoCo's soft opening. Today, I decided to drive up and check it out. The store is located next to Mark's. It's in a plaza with East Side Mario's. I parked closer to a huge mound of snow and walked inside. I was trying to figure out where to go. The waiting area for your drink greets you first, with markers on the floor to physically distance yourself from others. A nice woman asked if I wanted to order something. Yes, I did. The ordering area is further down, past the first CoCo logo on the wall on the right. I ordered two drinks: - Large roasted milk tea (March special going for $3.99) - Large strawberry black tea with coconut jelly (my usual) I got both with no sugar and less ice. I paid using a debit card. It was easy to tap. I was done and was handed a receipt that I had order #83. There were a couple of orders ahead of me. I needed to use the washroom. There are two and they are single stalls that are wheelchair-accessible. Mine was clean and spacious. I like the slate blue look with silver and marble accents everywhere. It's different than what you'd expect at a typical CoCo. I waited perhaps a minute more and my drinks were ready. I thanked the nice man behind the plexiglass, went to take a photo of my drinks, and headed out the door. I have consumed my strawberry black tea. It's not shocking! It hit the spot. It is my favourite drink at CoCo, with tiny chunks of strawberry in the best black tea formulation. The coconut jelly is cheerful and add a subtle sweetness that I enjoyed. I have missed it so much! I tend to visit Comebuy and Chatime in downtown Markham so much that I have abandoned dropping by CoCo for months. I need to add it to my bubble tea rotation. I will try my roasted milk tea in a bit. I have had it before at other CoCo locations. If the consistency is the same with my favourite drink at this place, I'm sure that the roasted milk tea will be fine and enjoyable. It's interesting seeing more Asian stores in Aurora. The shift is nice. Welcome to the 'hood, CoCo! (88)

I used to visit the box stores often a few years back. I decided to check out what was there and refresh my memory. I found this Bulk Barn. I parked and walked in. The staff here are exceptionally friendly. A woman immediately said hi to me. While checking out the snacks aisle (you know that I am writing this post and I haven't been kidnapped by aliens when I talk about snacks), when a man stocking items also said hi. I liked it all. There is far more variety than I recall at any Bulk Barn. I got an orange and cream lollipop, which was yummy. I actually sucked on it during a two-hour movie afterwards. Who needs to get popcorn when you can go with a lollipop for $2.49 before tax? There are plenty of dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan items. My favourite Daiya and Sweets from the Earth are all here, at decent prices. Zevia sugar-free drinks were 30% off the regular price. The cold drinks section at the back of the store is excellent. I saw Bounty minis and M&M's. There were unicorn and chocolate-covered Oreos. There were a ton of nuts and I'm not referring to fellow shoppers. It's a wonderful place to get snacks for cheap prices. You can get as much or as little as you need, which has also been cool about Bulk Barn. I liked the pineapple ice shapes. I may head back to get some. I managed to get a silicone straw for bubble tea. I use so many straws that it's time to reduce my usage with reusable ones. My purple straw was only $1. My childhood candies also surfaced here. I have never seen so many coloured gumballs in my life. There were also these giant jawbreakers that I still don't know how I would approach eating one. The cashier helping me out was super helpful and nice. You can pay using cash, and debit and credit cards. I went with a debit card. The tap didn't work, but doing the slide-slot procedure and entering my PIN worked just fine. I like this store. I'd come back again when I'm in the neighbourhood. (182)

They ended up buying the business between the two eateries, knocked down a couple of walls, and renamed the place CrepeStar Dessert Cafe and Bistro. This eatery is located at Aurora Shopping Centre. It's a plaza, so the name can be a bit misleading. There is plenty of parking. My orders have mostly been takeout. I came here a lot during the pandemic when you couldn't dine at restaurants. I have ordered a number of items for takeout, including the following: - Pork belly baos (two) that comes with fries - A side order of gravy - Chicken fresh rolls - Spicy grilled shrimp The pork belly baos were yummy! The veggies were crunchy and fresh. The pork belly was tender and flavourful. I would have put more protein in them, but they satisfied my craving for pork belly baos. If you have been reading my reviews for a bit, you'll know that fries aren't high on my list of sides. I'd rather get onion rings, a side salad, or sweet potato fries. However, I was game getting gravy. The fries taste homemade and weren't oily. You can see bits of potato skin on each fry. The gravy was perfect. It wasn't overly thick. It wasn't thin or salty. Just right. I enjoyed this combo. The fresh rolls are huge here! It was smart that they were separated by a banana leaf. The veggies here are amazingly crunchy and tasty. The vermicelli was done right. The chicken was tender and flavourful. Again, I feel that there could be more protein in it. Maybe I'm just a protein hog. The spicy grilled shrimp are yummy. They were plump and flavourful. My food was impeccably packed and tasted so fresh with every bite. I have dined in once. I had ordered grilled pork belly pho (P8). The owners advised that they were short on pork belly. I got steak, too! The pho here was fantastic. The broth was amazing. The pork belly and steak were tender and flavourful. I loved it! It comes in one size -- generous! I recently came here to pick up Krispy Kreme donuts. They were a part of the Best Buddies Prom drive. This charity that promotes inclusion by creating lasting one-to-one friendships between individuals living with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD and Autism Spectrum Disorder). The owners have an autistic son, so this charity drive was near and dear to them. I ordered a dozen donuts. They were ready for pickup at the end of February. I came here after work. It was easy to speak to a friendly male staffer and tell him my name. He immediately found my order and handed me my donuts. They were Krispy Kreme glaze donuts. You can't just have one. They were so fresh and yummy. Naturally, I looked at the Kawartha Lakes ice cream and sherbet flavours. I decided to get a cup of raspberry sherbet. The cup size was huge! I paid with a debit card. I tapped and was good. I thanked the nice man and headed to my car. I enjoyed my raspberry sherbet. It was delicious and refreshing. Kawartha Lakes does frozen treats right. It's a decent Vietnamese place in Aurora for good eats, which has rekindled my fondness for the town. The sherbet was excellent. I need to return and try the crepes next. (128)
