I was so excited about this place after my free consultation. They seemed to have a great approach to physical therapy, offering solutions for mobility and injury prevention in addition to more traditional strengthening protocols. During my first appointment, I did a consultation with Jessica. We spoke about my history with knee pain from skiing, and then moved into an assessment on the table. Without any kind of prep, she initiated muscle scraping on my entire leg, which was one of the most painful things I've had to endure. She said nothing to the effect of "we're about to do some muscle scraping, are you familiar with this?" or "this may be painful" or "it can cause pretty serious bruising and tenderness." She just got the tools and went right in. It was excruciating, and I found the total lack of preparation unprofessional and alarming. I was left with huge bruises up and down my leg for days; this was 2 days before a birthday trip where I'd be in a bathing suit, during which I had a massage I needed to cancel due to the tenderness of the massive bruises. Had I been prompted about the severity of this procedure, I likely would have declined or opted for a less intense massage approach (which was what I had explicitly asked for in my consultation and the beginning part of my assessment with Jessica, as massage therapy has helped me a great deal before). My first visit ended with some ultrasound therapy, which was more pleasant. Despite the intensity of the scraping, I was at least interested in the fact that this PT (the fourth clinic I've been to in 2 years) was performing more manual therapy than the others. I figured that I would give it a shot. At my second visit, we did more muscle scraping, and no ultra sound therapy. I was quickly passed off to another therapist to do some hip strengthening exercises, and halfway through she had to ask me which side my injury was on. She didn't seem super prepared to help me, and then brought me to the front desk to wrap up my appointment with 20 minutes still left in the hour. That appointment cost me $168, as my insurance does not cover PT until after I've hit my deductible, so I was feeling a bit shortchanged. I asked if I could be charged for fewer PT units due to the shorter appointment, and the therapist instead took me back to do some stretching. I had arrived to my second appt with some hip pain, and the therapist showed me a stretch that aggravated that pain. Upon telling her that I was in pain, and not in a tight muscle kind of way, she said "yeah, you'll feel that" and dismissed it. I left that appointment in more pain than when I arrived. The amount of time and compassion they provide you in each session is by far better than any other officer I have ever been to. They take time to truly help address each individual need. I came here because of the location. It was right on my way to and from my office. I had been in therapy since a Motor Vehicle Accident in February. The first clinic I went to closed their doors. I went to Kaiser. They canceled appointments due to strike and when the strike ended there were no appointments available. After finishing my 2nd visit, that went OK with Tigard PT the front desk informed me they needed a referral. I was confused as I thought this was already given to them, and they received approval from my insurance adjustor they would be reimbursed. They would not accept the documents from my PCP and knee specialists the other clinics did accept as referrals. I thought one of them told me the adjustor told them they needed this to be paid. My insurance adjustor called me back and I conferenced her in on the call with Jeriana. Jeriana stated I came into their office, calling and being rude to their staff. This NEVER happened. When the adjustor and I were trying to clarify what was needed they denied saying the insurance company needed it, it was what the owners wanted. Even though my insurance adjustor assured her they would get paid Jeriana was raising her voice at us stating they wanted this referral. She was extremely rude, aggressive and talking over us. Her anger and unprofessional mannerism had me physically shaking. It left us bewildered abd not understanding why she went off on us. At that point stated I would go somewhere else and she agreed that was best. I honestly do NOT understand why Jeriana is allowed to be so rude to myself and adjustor. After she left the call the adjustor agreed it is best to go somewhere else and doesn't understand why they needed this document that isn't required for getting paid, and NO other PT clinic needed in the past. All documents from my PCP and knee specialists indicates further PT is needed and aligns up, as stated by the Insurance Adjustor, with the treatment for knee injury. It will always be a mystery why Jeriana felt the need to pick a fight with me after being told they would be paid for my treatment. I did call back to ask them to destroy my records as I didn't want to come back. I spoke with Dan. He was VERY helpful and did his best to make me feel welcomed, but the damage was already done. Beware, If you are trying to clarify what is needed do NOT get on the bad side of Jeriana. I am updating. I had a knee injury. The pain, swelling and discomfort was localized to that area. The 1st visit was ok. I was confused as to why they require you to maneuver down a fairly steep ramp to a room. Be careful as there is no hand rail on the right side and you have to use the wall to support getting down. Second visit they used a room without making me go down the steep ramp. The Therapist had an assistant finish the appointment. It was ok and the area around my knee seemed to loosen up. However, late afternoon my hip, back and the outside of my leg all the way down to ankle became painful. This morning the pain is worse. I regret choosing this clinic. read more

Absolutely positively incredible. If you have pelvic floor or diastasis recti, go see Lynne. Hell even if you don't have those issues go see Lynne. I'm almost 99% sure Lynne can fix whatever you have. I went in about 2 weeks ago for diastasis recti. Condition cause by pregnancy. The thing is I went to another PT for a minor prolapsed bladder and thought I got it corrected but after Lynne examined me it turned out the severity didn't change. My first appointment didn't have "exercises" but rather Lynne taught me how to engage my core. Something I thought I knew as I worked out regularly before pregnancy and during. I left feeling so much more confident than the other PT I went to for my prolapse. A few days later, after practicing what Lynne taught me my husband told me he noticed a huge difference with my posture and stomach shape. That was after ONE visit with Lynne. My second visit with Lynne I learned some exercises for something I didn't think related to my diastasis recti but turned out to be super weak. Ultimately I just want to say how incredible Lynne is. She and her staff are going to make me so much stronger ALL over than I'd ever imagine. read more

I came to see Lynne several months ago after a car accident that caused my neck, upper and lower back to hurt. Lynne took such great care of me over several months, always listening to whatever issues I was having and doing her best to resolve them. She and her team taught me how to exercise without exacerbating my injuries and prevent new ones, how to strengthen my back to heal and how to help alleviate my pain when it did come back up. I have been going to Tigard Physical Therapy since 2006, when it was at a different location, however, any time I've had a problem requiring PT, I always see Lynne. First, she's highly trained and skilled; she has attended one of the best universities offering a degree in PT, & she consistently updates herself on current procedures & techniques. After discussing w/you your symptoms & reviewing your medical referrals, if any, she will formulate a plan specific to your needs. She integrates different modalities to include yoga, weight training, TENs, cryogenics, & massage, to name a few. As you progress, she will constantly challenge you, increasing weights you might lift, reps in various exercises, & so on. Obviously, the goal is to get you back to your normal self as soon as possible. At that, she excels. Second, her office, inside of Boom Fitness, is conveniently located off of I-5 near Whole Foods, REI, & Bridgeport Village. Ample parking is available. PT patients are able to use Boom's equipment as long as they are one of Lynne's clients. To get to her office, head to the door on the far right-side wall, go thru the door, down the hall, & her office is the 3rd door on the left w/appropriate signage. She has a waiting area w/comfy chairs that also provide appropriate support for those w/back issues (I'm one!). Soft, soothing acoustic guitar music plays as the subtle scent of bayberry/vanilla/something that smells good (I'm a fragrance idiot!) permeates throughout, creating a warm, inviting ethereal ambience. Inside the waiting area, a patient may be performing various floor exercises off on the side--please be careful, that might be me! Lynne has 2 treatment rooms which offer more privacy for clients who may require massage, manipulation, & the like. If you require ice in your treatment, she can also provide you a heating pad &/or blanket in case you should get cold. Last, Lynne takes most insurance cards/programs. It's best to discuss this before/while making your initial appointment w/her. As for the co-pay, I've always paid by credit card, so if you'd like to pay some other way, you may want to ask ahead of time. All in all, Lynne provides the best PT of anyone I've ever seen. If there are any negatives, it's generally not her fault. There are those who are no-shows & those who arrive late (& don't bother calling), which tends to back up subsequent appointments once in a while. Six months ago I began seeing Lynne and her staff for an evaluation of general back pain. I have had some injuries from riding horses, and I have just spent so much time sitting, that my back was just always bothering me. I wanted to know what all was wrong, and what I could do to fix it. I have seen other providers for musculoskeletal evaluations, and I have to say that her evaluation was very quick yet thorough, and very expertly done. She gave me some excellent bodywork, and she referred me to her staff, who showed me several simple and excellent exercises that I could do to help myself. They also showed me how I could set up my workspace in such a way that I would not continue to hurt my back. Not only do they know their stuff, but they're great listeners, obviously care about people, and they have a friendly and enjoyable demeanor that makes the experience really comfortable and enjoyable. In addition to the typical physical therapy skill set, Lynne has two additional skills that separate her from other physical therapists, and she employs them as perfect complements. She does the same kind of spinal manipulation that chiropractors do, and she does the same kind of dry needling that acupuncturists do. I'm definitely feeling better now thanks to Lynne. I would recommend Lynne and the staff at Tigard Physical Therapy for sure for anyone who needs physical therapy. read more
