I came to Jennifer Hellberg in pain and fear. I have known TMJ pain for many years. Four years ago I had a fat graft transplant in my very dysfunctional and arthritic right jaw joint. Recently the pain I experienced similar to before the surgery returned with constant headaches. The first time Jennifer worked on my head, neck, and jaw, I felt the tension melt away with each breath. It was simply amazing how she helped me through the discomfort. Jennifer's intuitive skills coupled with her ability to make me feel at ease in a painful situation created space for healing to happen. The next day my headaches were gone. I am so grateful I have met this special women because she is a healer. It is evident that Jennifer loves what she does. This is very evident to me. I really like the her ability to find the muscle or sets of muscles that are all connected to the pain in my head. When I went home, I found myself throwing my arms out wide and saying "I feel so Good!" And I still do. No longer am I afraid that I will need to repeat the difficult surgery I had four years ago. Jennifer taught me a deeper understanding of my body and how to release the tension. Now believe I have the capacity to live with much joy and ease. read more

I've been seeing Jennifer for several months with a tense back, bad shoulders and other "getting older" ailments. She is an amazing massage therapist. She takes the time, each visit, to find out how you are, what special areas might need a bit more or less attention, and sizing up what you might not even know about your own body. This recent massage I walked in and she immediately spotted that I was standing a little off to one side, evidently an unconscious attempt to keep some weight off a sore hip and tense lower back. She saw them and worked those kinks out during the session along with everything else. She has good, strong fingers and arms and can do everything from gentle warming to deep tissue work. And, unlike a few other MTs I've seen, she readily mixes them to meet your body's needs on that massage occasion. Not only is she very good at what she does, she is a funny and nice individual. I've had MTs who can't talk while they rub or if you ask them something, they can't give you a real answer. Jennifer can. She has a pleasing personality that makes the massage both relaxing and healing as well as fun. My wife now goes to see her on my recommendation and loves her as well. read more

I came in to Portland for a week to work with a local business. The Grand Hotel where i am staying has great accommodations but I must have slept wrong and woke up with a very painful back ache. As the day progressed it got worse. As i was driving back to the hotel later that day I called the concierge to see if they could recommend a massage therapist who could help me. They recommended Jennifer and she came over within an hour. Jennifer was very knowledgeable about my predicament and began to work on me. She has lots of skills and was able to begin by stretching me out. (no easy task). And then proceeded to work on me with a very therapeutic massage. I was so relaxed as she worked on me. Jennifer's interpersonal skills allowed her keep me relaxed as she guided me through what she was doing. She was thorough and took her time. After she left i got a message from her making sure i followed up by drinking lots of water, more stretching and she told me to take a walk. I followed her advice and woke up this morning feeling so much better. Thank You Jennifer you have my highest recommendation :). read more

I agree with Lisa 100%. She is much more than a massage therapist. She has been working on my neck and shoulders for a short time and has results that neither doctors nor chiropractors were able to achieve. My neck was tilted to the right for over 50yrs. and she is the only one that was able to make it straight. Chiropractors puts your joints in temporary alignment but Jennifer works on all your soft tissue to keep everything in alignment. My general posture has also improved a lot. She has a very broad educational and varied experienced background. Her interview is extensive and wants to get to know you as a person so she can better meet your personal needs for better health. She is a very warm and deeply caring professional person. I've gone to a number of other massage therapist and nobody comes even close. You are wasting your money if you don't choose her to help your body get better. She is definitely a healer and worth more than what she charges. You need to give her a call, you will thank yourself when you feel what she can do for you. read more

I found Jennifer through a Google search for 'intraoral massage,' and am so thankful that I did! I had been experiencing daily headaches (at least 2-4 hours in length) linked to finding out that I have been clenching my jaw in my sleep. I had reached a breaking point and had heard good things about intraoral massage and the relief people with forms of TMJ could have from receiving treatment. Jennifer is much more than a massage therapist. She truly has a gift for listening to you, what is happening in your life, things that may be stressing you or creating more stress for you, and helping you work out ways to relieve them (not only just through the massage therapy, which is fantastic!). I have seen Jennifer several times now and have been free from daily headaches since I first saw her, so I would recommend her to anyone. She is such a gifted masseuse, healer, and someone you can truly talk to you. She has a wealth of experience and really can help you, in many more ways (and in addition to) massage therapy. Totally recommend! read more

I've been to many massage therapists. Most of these individuals specialize in one or two different practices. I have also had my share of massage approaches (Swedish, Thai, Rolfing, Cranial Sacral etc.). What I like about Jennifer is her expertise in multiple fields of massage. As a result, I feel like she gives more of complete and customized massage. I'm impressed at her desire for continued education as it tells me she is going above and beyond in her training minimums-to me that speaks volumes. I like the setting of the massages (her home office) which is very much an environment of welcome and relaxation. I appreciated how easy it is to communicate with her, which I think helped make the massage better than most. I was so pleased with her service, I cancelled an appointment with another therapist because she clearly stands out to me as in the upper echelon of her field. read more

I see Jennifer for visceral manipulation. This therapy helps me manage a chronic digestive disorder. Jennifer is a very caring lady who is generous with her time and her heart. She has been attentive to the issues I have due to childhood trauma and has created a safe environment for me to be able to process the emotions that are trapped within my organs. I have found her trustworthy and compassionate during this difficult work. Since beginning treatment with Jennifer 8 months ago, I am now able to lie on my right side without pain. I have also noticed a reduction in my anxiety and my digestive flare-ups. I appreciate that Jennifer is highly educated. Beyond her knowledge and experience, Jennifer is willing to walk along side her clients as they strive for improved health. It's a rare quality to find. read more

I had the opportunity to have a massage at The Nines with Jennifer. I've had quite a few over the years and this was the best. She is respectful and professional in her approach and excellent in her technique. The real difference though is in her intuitive nature and integration off positive thought, breathing and holistic perspective. She was able to read me quickly and then tailor her approach to what she felt I needed. It was really a rejuvenating experience. If you want a great massage and perhaps also a more meditative experience as well to renew your spirit and let go of life's stressors at least for an hour or two I encourage you to consider Jennifer. I appreciated The Nines providing access to such great people and services, and let them know as much when I left the hotel. read more

Jennifer did more for my psoas injury in 90 minutes than I could ever have dreamed! And her intra-oral massage was amazing- I've never had one & highly recommend it- there is so much more tension in your cheeks & jaws than you can imagine! She has her own office, but also travels to give massages at your convenience (she was recommended to my by the front desk staff at the Sentinel Hotel downtown during my stay there). And she blends essential oils to suit your likes or moods, there on the spot. My hip feels leaps & bounds better since then & her massage definitely set me up for a much speedier recovery than I had hoped for! Jennifer is very welcoming, kind, positive, and truly listens. Highly recommended!! read more

I've maintained monthly maintenance massage with Jennifer for more than six years and can adamantly attest to minimal body issues since. My initial visit was an emergency caused by multiple ongoing physical activities that literally locked my inner shoulders one morning, and Jennifer's deep-tissue skills had me 95% "cured" after the first session. I immediately became a convert to the long-term benefits of regular maintenance massage. Jennifer's professionalism, skill set, knowledge, clean environment, and caring attitude has kept my body in optimal shape. I would highly recommend her for a short-term problem or long-term care. She's a credit to the profession. read more

If you want results, go see Jennifer! I've been going to massage therapists for 30 years and she is one of the most conscientious and knowledgeable therapists I've ever worked with. She has a caring laser-like focus on YOU - your needs and challenges - You are not a nameless person on the schedule for her to get through (no froo-froo massage here). I appreciate her authentic commitment to healing and if you're someone who needs help with your muscles, your aching whatever -just tell her, she knows what to do. (Check out all the degrees on her wall - she's not only gifted at what she does, she's well-educated). Highly recommend! Julie S., Amity, Oregon. read more

When I first came to Jennifer I was in a lot of pain. After the first session, I could feel a definite improvement. She has a strong grasp on what is going on with my body and knows how to address it. Jennifer became familiar with my aches and pains and personalized my treatments so that she could do work that was comprehensive and seemed to build on what had been done in the prior session. She is always professional and open to listening to her client's needs. I would highly recommend Jennifer to anyone who is looking for an experienced massage therapist who really knows what she's doing. read more

I went to Jennifer for a persistent pain in my neck from an injury I suffered in my twenties. My symptoms included numbness and tingling in my hands. After only two sessions, I went from 7 nights a week of symptoms to only one! She does very deep work and is able to locate the trouble spots. I am active in sports and have noticed a tremendous increase in my range of movement in shoulders and upper back. You will not be disappointed with her work. I have had massage therapists before and she is the best by far! read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about her gift to heal and listen to people. I have been rear ended three time in the last three years and every time Jennifer was available and able to help me. I went to numerous chiropractors, acupuncture, physical therapy and none of them helped my body as much as she did and continues to do. She has also helped my mother recovering from shoulder surgery. He skill for massage cannot me matched. Give her a try = ) read more

As someone who tends to stress the small stuff, I have chronic tension headaches and muscular discomfort through my neck and upper shoulders. I have yet to find another massage therapist that can match Jennifer's skills. She has knowledge in such a wide range of massage and healing techniques, and she truly cares about the long term outcome of her work. I travel some distance to see her and it's worth the commute. She is a gifted massage therapist. read more

Jennifer provides a tremendously healing massage. This is a professional who care deeply about her clients and goes the extra mile to advance healing. She is superb. She is thoughtful and patient, and calls between sessions to see how I'm doing. She is terrific and I am grateful. read more

Jennifer has done amazing work on my knee pain. I have been running regularly and as soon as I started getting into the longer mileage I would get knee pain that radiated into my lower back and hips. After seeing Jennifer just a couple of times I have just completed a 10 mile run without the knee pain. She takes an overall approach and looks at how everything is connected. I highly recommend her.
