For the last few months, I have heard mention of Planted Earth Floral from various members of a plant group in which I participate. The "Floral" really throws you off, as I would assume they are a florist, rather than a mostly-antiques-with-a-side-of-houseplants-shop. When I heard they had some long sought String of Turtles in stock, I made the drive down to Orem. They are located right off State Street, in a beautiful Victorian brick house. The facade is cluttered with décor: signage, furniture, garden statues, and other large decorations. The interior arrangement of goods matches that, but it is in the charming way where you never quite know what you will discover. When I walked in, a gentleman was at the front desk looking at his phone. He looked at me, more than once, but without a smile or any sort of greeting. Thus, it felt awkward looking at the goodies in that immediate area (and there was a doozy of a jewelry collection). I wandered through the rest of the store noting lots of great stuff: Victorian fur coats (and plenty of other vintage clothing), candy colored depression glass, beautiful pottery, prints, and all the staples one would hope to find, but I was on a mission, and only gave it a cursory glance. Plants are housed in a little greenhouse, and it is not a particularly large area, but they have some real treasures! Many common plants, but plenty that feel more special, like the aforementioned String of Turtles, Prince of Orange and Birkin Philodendrons, several varieties of Alocasias (even trendy Black Velvet!), Calatheas, etc. Many sizes, in hanging and standard pots, macramé hangers, etc. I was very pleased, and tempted by many, but only have so much space, so forced myself to stick with the plant for which I visited. Prices are comparable to other area nurseries, and I think the same could be said for their antiques. When I paid for my purchase, the same gentleman who had been at the front when I arrived assisted me, and he was as nice as could be! He shared care tips for my baby, and told me about the little tree frog they have living in their terrarium. So don't be put off if your encounter initially feels unfriendly. So far, my SOT is living the good life in a terrarium I crafted at the store owner's recommendation, and he seems happy as can be. Planted Earth is an excellent option for a lesser-known nursery that just might surprise you with your wish list plant.

I was one of the top salesperson at this particular location. I had been working and the owner stopped responding to me, and found out (through social media) that he had hired someone else. Weeks later, I finally got ahold of him and he texted me: "I won't be needing anymore help". About a month later he still hadn't sent me my last check, I told him by law he should've been paying me the whole month because I still hadn't gotten my check. He finally sent it to me but then put a stop payment on it. I texted and called multiple different times and he ignored me every time I reached out. Side note: he also didn't pay my friend, who worked there for a few shifts until finding a new job. I hope youll support more professional, kind hearted business owners instead of this one. There are many boutiques in Utah, Madison and Sixth should be the very last place you go. I was amazed that a "business man" would act this way. Hopefully he'll get to a place where he realizes business can only stand so long on the stilts of bad ethics!

I'd just left American Eagle and had felt a little body shamed by the employee that was assisting me at American Eagle, but it went even worse with the girl at this store. I typically wear an 8 or a 10 depending on the brand, and I had asked the girl if I looked like I wore a size 12 because I was still in shock that the AE girl had suggested I try a 12 when the 10 she'd seen me in had obviously been two big in one particular area: the crotch. The girl at this store said no, and suggested I was a 14 instead. It was extremely hard to keep my composure; I was polite as I left the store but felt insulted. I definitely won't be returning here. When you work in retail, especially clothes, it's all about building up the customer and making them feel confident about their looks. This girl definitely lacks those skills.

We drove 2+ hours for my teenage daughter, I wanted her to be fitted by a pro at VS. Nothing beats…read morethe magical experience of a real brick and mortar VS store. We were greeted by three employees and fitted by a very kind and professional sales lady. It all went down hill when it was time to try on the Bra's. My 14 year old daughter had been handed an $80 bra. I explained to the dressing room attendant that we did not want that one, and we went to find more affordable styles. I took her back to the dressing room with 5 styles of bras because she needed multiple. The attendant was very rude and said that I didn't know what I was doing, I messed up the bra display and had managed to get the wrong size of bras. She left us both standing there looking stupid while she took off to find the right sizes. She came back with the freaking $80 bra! Then admittedly she said " I did actually have the right sizes" but she put them back & the $80 bra was "the best option" We very, very annoyed and promptly left. I grabbed her one $40 bra on the way to the register and even managed to get the correct size by ourselves !! We went directly to the register without trying it on. Luckily it worked and she loves it. What an actual joke, I was waiting to be punked or something. So very disappointing for my daughters first trip to VS.
