12/29/25: THIS OFFICE REPEATEDLY DEMANDED I COME IN FOR MEDICALLY UNNECESSARY APPOINTMENTS…read more I did blood labs in October. I received a call in November that I needed to repeat a lab, & when I asked which lab & why, I was told I would need to make an appointment (with Amanda Schaffer, PA) to find out. . I raised this issue with the office manager,Tammy. She did not really respond to this issue beyond acknowledging I SHOULD be able to get that information from the office. ⁣ NEXT I WAS TOLD I NEEDED AN APPOINTMENT TO GET A RENEWED PRESCRIPTION for a lifetime medication. I HAD ALREADY 1) had an appointment, 2) new blood labs were ordered specifically for a new prescription, 3) lab results are the basis for writing a prescription, THEREFORE, THE PCP IS ABLE TO RENEW THE PRESCRIPTION & HAS NO NEED FOR FURTHER PATIENT ASSESSMENT. NO FURTHER APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED. The 3rd time this office told me that I had to have an appointment was for a medicare annual exam. So I went. ⁣ Turns out the appointment was used to kick me out of the practice & I had to remind Amanda schaffer, PA to address the reason I was told to come in. ⁣ In summary: my goal is to clarify the difficulties I experienced with this office: 1) being told I have to book unnecessary appointments with my PCP & 2) this medical office does not answer their phone.

Under Dr. Robeson's care, I've always been taken care of. Let's see how this visit turned out. I was able to check in 30 minutes early since I made to drive from Norfolk. Once I was called up, they were able to weight me in (lost 9 pounds since my last visit), give a urine sample (results were good) and have my blood pressure taken (lower than my last visit). Overall, the blood results were good. Dr. Robeson, my primary care, suggested for me to start taking Mounjaro which'll help with weight loss for diabetics (me included). Of course, I'll have to incorporate exercising and changes to eating meals since it'll make myself full fast with increasing doses. So I'll have to see how the process is going this coming November for an appointment. So far, I feel fine using the product. We shall see what happens going forward. Just like that, another great appointment here. They will continue to have me as a patient. Till next time :)

The nurse Sheryl was very businesslike and no nonsense to the point of chastising me that they were busy and I needed to not speak unless I was answering questions. Dr Mohsin was efficient and instructed me that I was welcome to come there but there were guidelines as she was a busy person. I would need to limit my questions and keep things moving. Such an interesting group of individuals and a modern mode of treating humans.

Prior I was a patient of Dr. Mohsin's for about 10 years. Initially I wasn't offended by her beside manner and her overall treatment of patients, I appreciate people being straightforward with me, but the last year or so while navigating some health scares and issues she became more and more dismissive and would raise her voice at times if I had a question that did not pertain to the subject at hand. I have a severe needle phobia and was told to suck it up when expressing nervousness about lab work. There is no support in this practice for navigating insurance for the purpose of medication approval. It has been night and day seeing my new doctor who listens to me and works with me. I think Dr Mohsin is burned out and is pretty transparent about the fact that she doesn't care about the individuals she is seeing and their unique circumstances. I have been shut down and told that my time was up numerous times. I understand that doctors need to stay on schedule, but there are other ways to go about it than making the patient feel unheard and unimportant. I wrote her a letter outlining my concerns about feeling disrespected and did not even get an "I'm sorry you feel that way." I got her stating that she knows she has never been disrespected to me and I probably should find a new doctor, and that is what I did. I'd encourage everyone else to do the same.
