I was suffering from a really painful spasming tendon band from my knee to hip, and PA Kevin DiMauro saw me the same day I called. He prescribed treatment that gained me relief. I am grateful for his caring approach and depth of knowledge. They have an X-ray suite on site so he could order X-rays that aided in his diagnosis. The two receptionists at the front desk of Tidewater Orthopedic were extremely rude and uncooperative at my last visit. First, upon checking in, one said "You owe $15." I said "I paid it online 10 minutes ago." She responded "No you didn't." After a couple minutes of prodding and checking, she said, "Oh, I see you did pay." I sat down, waited for more than 30 minutes, and suddenly the other receptionist called my name and in an accusatory tone said, "You never checked in." I said I most certainly did check in, 10 minutes before my appointment." This obnoxious woman then argued with me for several minutes before she finally admitted, "Oh I see you did check in." No apologies, just rudeness. I hope their management hears this. read more

Well three months after surgery and my husband still has swelling. I don't see that it improves with time or buckets of ice..Tried to communicate in my chart but no message from practice. He did get a callback but missed the call and no message on his phone. It's like he's just a number, well swelling is going on for more than ,3 months Can't we revisit his individual case? read more

I was a patient of PA Lanzetta and she was amazing. I would highly recommend her for issues with the hand. I had torn my tendon in my hand and it hurt to the point I saw stars every time I move that finger. She was honest with me about the recovery time. If I have an issue with my hand again I will definitely be going back to see her. read more

Tidewater Orthopedics has a wonderful group of doctors within its practice. I was very happy with all the doctors I have seen and been treated by. My quality of life is so much better with the concern and professional care I've received. Dr. Payne repaired both of my shoulders and replaced my knee. Dr. Jonathan Mason replaced 2 of my cervical vertebrae C4-5. Dr Camp helped with my Tendonitis in my right Hand. Dr.Maloof did a fusion of the MTP first joint right foot. So, I can honestly say they are the best. I was lucky to find them when I first moved back to Williamsburg.. If it takes awhile to get in, it's because there are so good at what they do an have a lot of patients. LINDA L read more

Listen when I tell you.....you are just a dollar sign to this practice. You will be shuttled in like cattle for surgery and disregarded afterwards. My surgeon was Dr. Higgins whose bed side manner was acceptable BEFORE surgery but completely unacceptable AFTERWARDS for my follow-up. I waited over an hour for him to see me at my follow up appointment and he was quite crass when he arrived. I wouldn't recommend this surgeon because when I informed him that I was experiencing complications after his procedure he brushed me off and then accused ME of being rude. You have me waiting for over an hour for my scheduled appointment, you walk in with no apology, you dismiss my knee pain concerns then accuse ME of being rude????? Like what in the world of gaslighting is going on here???? I'm calling everyone one I initially recommended this practice to and rescinding my recommendation! Being a surgeon doesn't mean you have unrestricted access to behave like a pompous a-hole. read more

I dutifully join the ranks of the 'one star raters!' You will be charmed at the first dollar but follow ups earn them nothing, so that's the reason for the highly recognizable cattle call treatment that follows. There "vill-be-NO" rapport building with ANY of the doctors here! They do not want you to become attached (or a regular sick bay commando). Ditto experience here with the 2 canceled appointments I waited months for. If you have an acute issue like a cracked rib, go somewhere else. It's a common theme for the doctors that come to Williamsburg on Thursdays only to man their clinics one day a week. You can see the $$ in their eyes! Finally, they use a 3rd party to provide copies of your records and that company will tack on a 2nd charge (I didn't request images, just records, jokes on me) regardless of what block you choose on the office form. Both my husband and I are patients at Tidewater Orthopedics and we have both had repeated incidents of totally failed appointments. Confirmed appointments made with these physicicans are treated as unimportant and in THREE instances the doctors literally NEVER showed up to the exam room. (This was after 40-60 minute waits). Keep in mind in a couple of cases these were critical first and second surgical follow ups. To add fuel to the fire, the front office staff was uninformative and unhelpful. I strongly recommend future patients look elswehere. read more

Not being taken seriously after several visits over a few years. Now I'm trying to get in with a different practice but I can't until Tidewater O. sends my records for review by the new doctor. It's been 2 months of faxes and phone calls from the new doctor and myself trying to get my records but the incompetent staff can't seem to make it happen. So my life is on hold waiting for these idiots to send my records! LIVID, don't waste your time with this office! read more

My family and I have had nothing but excellent care at this practice. I would and do recommend the doctors here. They are very thorough before and after surgery. The physical therapy folks are great also. We have had knees, hips, hand and foot problems over the years and every visit has been really good. read more

I have waited days for contact with practitioners, if they ever call back at all. The pain management is lackadaisical, like they don't even take it seriously that their patient is suffering. Talking to a human being is a real challenge. They may be competent physicians, but their practice gets an F in patient care. read more

If I could give a zero, I would. I was injured almost 30 years ago and have a permanent disability. Dr Jonathan Mason refused to see me because of it. This establishment is awful! Find another office. More concerned with billing than actual care. I arrived a few minutes early for the appointment. Had to wait in waiting room for several minutes. When I was finally called back, I waited for the physician an additional 45 minutes. When the physician finally arrived, he was in and out in under 5 minutes. Has terrible lack of eye contact. The most incompetent practice I've ever been pained to deal with. I have been trying to schedule since January for an auto accident injury. I was referred to the practice by my PA. First they needed private insurance to schedule me even though it's a PIP claim. Okay, whatever. Then I call back to give them that information and all of the sudden they can't take parties that have attorneys for their injuries?! Seriously, do not even waste your time with the incompetent, lackadaisical staff at this facility. You have been warned. read more

I have had two successful arthroscopic knee operations, and my wife has had two successful knee replacements done by Dr. Higgins. All four were done with the highest degree of professionalism, and we had minimal recovery times. Compared to family and friends who used other surgeons, we were far better off. He does 500 operations every year, and the hospital staff has repeatedly said he is the one they chose for their families. We wouldn't go anywhere else. read more
