It's a miracle! On July 4, I was frolicking with some grandkids in the Chesapeake Bay and made the mistake of trying to hoist a six-year-old up onto a floating dock. Something along the back side of my upper left arm stabbed back at me. OUCH! Well it seemed a simple muscle pull which responded to a couple Ibuprofen a day. But it didn't get better...it got worse...until my whole shoulder seemed involved. I had been seeing Dr. Shaye about once a month for "wellness" sessions for several years after he helped me alleviate some lower back and neck pain a couple of years ago. So after nearly a month of sore shoulder, I asked if he could work on that. And work he did! After several sessions within two weeks, I regained total range of motion in my left shoulder. I can once again pull a t-shirt over my head, lean on my left arm, do some basic exercises, and when I get into my car to drive somewhere, I can reach up to get my seatbelt and also close the driver side door with my LEFT arm....things I hadn't been doing in weeks. Here is the best part though.....Those five sessions in two weeks? None of them involved more than ten minutes of work. Almost always I was in and out of Dr. Shaye's office in under twenty minutes. I took NO pain medication and did NO additional exercises or any kind of extra work at home. I even kidded around about whether the whole office had done time/motion studies to be so efficient. Dr. Shaye and his team were great. I've never gone to a chiropractor before and I wasn't 100% sure what to expect. However, I'm training for my first Half Ironman and my piraformis (lower back/left buttocks) just started hurting. I live in SD and came out here for a business trip. I wanted to make sure I saw someone soon because my race is in 9 weeks and I still have a lot of training to do. I was able to get into see Dr. Shaye on short notice and he gave me some great advice. He did some adjustments on me and I could tell that it was working. I've been able to continue my training without any pain or discomfort. As an athlete and someone who was looking for help to keep doing what I loved, I was relieved to find someone who was willing to keep me going rather than tell me to stop. Dr. Shaye used a variety of techniques, from chiropractic, to dry needling, to acupuncture, to deep stretching and even massage, and I always felt like he had my goals in mind and a complete understanding of what the issues were on a given day. I went to Performance Chiropractic with extreme pain in my right arm and shoulder. After my doctor's prescription of steroids had done nothing to alleviate the pain, I was desperate. Prior to visiting Performance Chiropractic, I was suffering from bad posture and rounded shoulders which was causing me shoulder and chest pain. This was affecting me from fully enjoying lifting weights and playing basketball which are both major hobbies of mine. After visiting Performance Chiropractic for a few months, not only did my posture tremendously improve but I was able to lift weights and play basketball pain free. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and was in constant pain and discomfort. I was told by an orthopedic surgeon that surgery was the best option to relieve my pain. He suggested I receive an epidural to see if that would help, but couldn't say with any guarantee if it would work, or how long it might last. The following day I went to see Dr. Shaye, who examined me and gave me an "adjustment" followed by acupuncture. I was pleased with the results, the pain receded and I was able to walk comfortably. Continued appointments have proven to be extremely beneficial in reducing pain and increasing my mobility. Three weeks ago I started taking my 97 year old father to see Dr. Shaye. With advanced arthritis plus other issues in his neck, dad hasn't been able to turn his head in years and lived in constant pain. This is a long overdue review. I love Dr. Shaye and his staff. They're unbelievably nice and accommodating. I work an hour away and sometimes have to cancel my appointments with short notice. They've never charged me and are always lovely when I'm unable to keep my appointment. And I truly believe I could just walk in any time and they'd see me. They're that nice and accommodating. We were on vacation this week and my daughter woke up with a very stiff neck. Not being from the area I checked our in network options and chose Dr. Shaye. The office staff was amazing and offered us an appt quickly, even though we would not be repeat customers. Dr. Shaye is very friendly and explained to my daughter what to expect. Today I had to go in for a last minute appointment While we were visiting Williamsburg . They were able to get me in and did a fantastic job and I felt better when I left it was so nice to get some relief in my neck . Each visit at Performance is such a pleasurable experience from a phone call with the kind and helpful staff, to the warm feeling walking in and out of the office.
