It's a miracle! On July 4, I was frolicking with some grandkids in the Chesapeake Bay and made the mistake of trying to hoist a six-year-old up onto a floating dock. Something along the back side of my upper left arm stabbed back at me. OUCH! Well it seemed a simple muscle pull which responded to a couple Ibuprofen a day. But it didn't get better...it got worse...until my whole shoulder seemed involved. I had been seeing Dr. Shaye about once a month for "wellness" sessions for several years after he helped me alleviate some lower back and neck pain a couple of years ago. So after nearly a month of sore shoulder, I asked if he could work on that. And work he did! After several sessions within two weeks, I regained total range of motion in my left shoulder. I can once again pull a t-shirt over my head, lean on my left arm, do some basic exercises, and when I get into my car to drive somewhere, I can reach up to get my seatbelt and also close the driver side door with my LEFT arm....things I hadn't been doing in weeks. Here is the best part though.....Those five sessions in two weeks? None of them involved more than ten minutes of work. Almost always I was in and out of Dr. Shaye's office in under twenty minutes. I took NO pain medication and did NO additional exercises or any kind of extra work at home. I even kidded around about whether the whole office had done time/motion studies to be so efficient. The simple answer: "People do not like to wait in a doctor's office." You do NOT wait around in Dr, Shaye's office. And my shoulder improvement seems nothing less than a miracle to me. read more

Dr. Shaye and his team were great. I've never gone to a chiropractor before and I wasn't 100% sure what to expect. However, I'm training for my first Half Ironman and my piraformis (lower back/left buttocks) just started hurting. I live in SD and came out here for a business trip. I wanted to make sure I saw someone soon because my race is in 9 weeks and I still have a lot of training to do. I was able to get into see Dr. Shaye on short notice and he gave me some great advice. He did some adjustments on me and I could tell that it was working. I've been able to continue my training without any pain or discomfort. The office was extremely flexible with my schedule and they were extremely welcoming and friendly. I'd highly recommend Dr. Shaye and his team. When I come back into town, he'll be the one I go see in the future! read more

Dr. Shaye and his team do a top notch job, from diagnosing the issue, to setting up a plan, to keeping in touch, and of course throughout the process the most important factor is good treatment. As an athlete and someone who was looking for help to keep doing what I loved, I was relieved to find someone who was willing to keep me going rather than tell me to stop. Dr. Shaye used a variety of techniques, from chiropractic, to dry needling, to acupuncture, to deep stretching and even massage, and I always felt like he had my goals in mind and a complete understanding of what the issues were on a given day. Now in wellness care, I know where to turn on a more infrequent basis, and I know that Dr. Shaye would rather have me well than have my business. In sum: this is the chiropractor you're looking for. read more

I went to Performance Chiropractic with extreme pain in my right arm and shoulder. After my doctor's prescription of steroids had done nothing to alleviate the pain, I was desperate. I began a program of both chiropractic and massage therapy visits. A month or so later, my pain was gone. PC helped me undo years of bad habits carrying a heavy load on my right shoulder. Thanks to the guidance I received at PC, I've also improved my habits and posture in ways that I'm confident will help me avoid back and other aches and pains going forward. I call Beth, the massage therapist at PC, the muscle whisperer. She is truly amazing. She and Dr. Shaye are models of professionalism and friendliness. They know their stuff and they know how to listen and take care of their patients. I highly recommend. read more

Prior to visiting Performance Chiropractic, I was suffering from bad posture and rounded shoulders which was causing me shoulder and chest pain. This was affecting me from fully enjoying lifting weights and playing basketball which are both major hobbies of mine. After visiting Performance Chiropractic for a few months, not only did my posture tremendously improve but I was able to lift weights and play basketball pain free. On top of that the costs of the treatment was much more efficient then my other options. Also Dr Shaye and the staff at Performance Chiropractic are very professional and very friendly. The service they provide is excellent and overall I would definitely recommend visiting them if you are looking for chiropractic treatment. read more

I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and was in constant pain and discomfort. I was told by an orthopedic surgeon that surgery was the best option to relieve my pain. He suggested I receive an epidural to see if that would help, but couldn't say with any guarantee if it would work, or how long it might last. The following day I went to see Dr. Shaye, who examined me and gave me an "adjustment" followed by acupuncture. I was pleased with the results, the pain receded and I was able to walk comfortably. Continued appointments have proven to be extremely beneficial in reducing pain and increasing my mobility. I heartily recommend Performance Chiropractic....their staff is very friendly and professional. read more

Three weeks ago I started taking my 97 year old father to see Dr. Shaye. With advanced arthritis plus other issues in his neck, dad hasn't been able to turn his head in years and lived in constant pain. As soon as I relocated him to Williamsburg I knew I wanted a chiropractor for him. Dr. Shaye and his staff are so patient with his hearing loss and stories, and after only a couple of weeks, Dad is almost completely without pain and is beginning to be able to move his neck. He loves going to his sessions where each staff makes him feel valued and important. Performance Chiropractic is truly a caring practice, committed to the wellness of their patients. read more

We were on vacation this week and my daughter woke up with a very stiff neck. Not being from the area I checked our in network options and chose Dr. Shaye. The office staff was amazing and offered us an appt quickly, even though we would not be repeat customers. Dr. Shaye is very friendly and explained to my daughter what to expect. She had her neck adjusted and we returned two days later for a follow up adjustment. With her neck feeling great, we were able to fully enjoy our vacation. Thanks to Dr. Shaye and his fantastic staff we will certainly return if we need chiropractic care while in Williamsburg. read more
