She had a video visit with Dr. Narvaez, who, heard her symptoms, & when the nursing staff failed to answer sis's call button, told her to call 911. Thank goodness!!! 3 days in ICU and now, much improved... Expect her to have a recovery, albeit, extended now, BUT, this weekend I'm soooo grateful she pulled thru!!! And wouldn't have but for Dr. Narvaez. 5 stars is insufficient. THANK YOU!!!

She answered a lot of my questions, and if she did not know about a hormone question I had, I was graciously referred to a specialist. I really liked her honesty, patience, personality, and sense of humor made me feel really comfortable for my first visit. I'm glad I made the switch to Linda for PCP, because my previous doctor assumed I was young and healthy, and would fast track our annual visits, but I would also rely on the data rather than a simple number (my age) to justify my health. I will say some of these comments on Yelp talk about the front desk, but my experience was more of the check out desk, who seemed unnecessarily grumpy that morning. There was a prescription that wasn't send to a pharmacy, and I tried to ask the front desk about it, but she snapped at me and said to ask the pharmacy (with attitude). Next time I could do better and stand on my ground more firmly, but as this review is for Linda Narvaez and not for the front desk/ check out person, I am personally rating Linda as 5 stars.

I like the people here and wish I could give a better rating but... Buyer Beware UCLA health…read morebilling. Beware the "convenience" of the video visit. The $500 for 5 minutes call. The convenience is all for UCLA. They will charge you for an in-office visit. Additionally, if the video call is 5 minutes, they will also use a 20-29 minute in office visit code, which is their minimum charge per the billing rep. Potentially understandable if a semi-complex medical question and semi-complex medical files. That means if you have an HDHP that is $500 for a 5min phone call to ask if a common medication may be right for you. I emailed to ask for advice and they say, oh ok, let's get a video appointment. Did I know I will be charged? Yes. Did I think it would be more like $200? Yes. Was it? No. No matter how many times I asked them if this was correct after I got the bill. Did I pay it? Unfortunately, yes. Lesson learned and hopefully this review is a lesson for UCLA office to make it very clear to advise patients that a Video Visit will be charged as an in-office visit. At least offer the cheaper phone call consult. Also, 500 for an in office visit is also exorbitant. Anyways... PS. Also, beware of hidden charges for an annual visit. They tried to charge $100 for a portion of the annual screening that should havr been covered under preventive care or something they did not do (extra consultation). They force you to spend an hour with billing to get them to waive it and you have to research and explain why they made a mistake.

Dr. Javdan in particular has been…read moreincredibly helpful to us and our family, and we're very grateful for the care, guidance, and attention he has provided. What makes Westside Family Health especially different is that they are a nonprofit with a genuine focus on preventative care. They're not in the business of selling procedures or maximizing the number of services you receive. Their focus is on keeping you healthy, identifying problems early, and helping connect you with the right specialists when needed. In a healthcare system where financial incentives can too often influence care, it is incredibly reassuring to feel that the people advising you are looking first at your health and not their bottom line. They're also incredibly easy to work with--responsive, thoughtful, and very good at helping us navigate the healthcare system. We feel very fortunate to have Westside Family Health as part of our family's healthcare. Highly recommend.

I requested that the number please please be kept off my appointment notes and paperwork. It was front and center under my name. I just had a really bad fall and hurt my knee but I can't bring myself to come in to have it looked at because I feel so violated and unsafe from my treatment here. Patients have the right to decline being weighed, but this practice has surprise attack exam tables that weigh you without your consent.

Over a two-month span I attempted to get referrals that were within a reasonable distance from my home, and the best they could produce were offices like an hour or more away. Whats more, all the referrals they produced were usually two to three months down the road! Absolutely none were within the same month, and you can forget about being seen that same week! This despite me indicating to them (and my Primary Dr at the time-see my reviews- who also earned a 1-star review) that I had not one, but two urgent situations. The most immediate and critical issue stemmed from trying to pass a 7mm kidney stone onto the viscous back pain and sciatica attack that was the result of a vehicular accident (not my fault). So I lost on all fronts, especially when you throw in the fact that my primary MD who is associated with this medical group was about as useful as a third leg....that points backward....and grows out of your head! Thanks a lot Prospect! It's become clear to me (and apparently many others) that our "prospects" with your medical group were just that....a prospect, and nothing more!

Patients cannot talk to anyone other than the customer service people who can't do anything to assist you anyway. My husband is a heart patient and when his cardiologist retired we were referred to a new one. Although he is good, he wants my husband to see a cardiologist who specializes in his condition. Our PCP has submitted three separate requests for this. The first time we were referred to a surgeon (my husband doesn't need surgery) who isn't even in this medical group. When we called the nice staff person at his office said she couldn't understand why we were given this referral. Our PCP submitted a second request and we got the same referral to the same surgeon!!! At this point the surgeon and cardiologist are calling us confused as to why Prospect did this again. Third submission by our PCP we got a referral for an echocardiogram but no actual cardiologist. As much as we like our PCP we will be leaving him simply to be able to choose an actual, competent medical group. It's shameful they are even in business.
