After searching I found the items I liked. The t-shirt I bought had the insignia of the university. Also I bought a pair of blue short with a Cal logo. Both items were Champion brand. I liked the store because of the variety of Cal apparel. What made this store appealing to me while I was a student was the abundance of vintage graphic t-shirts. This was the place where I bought two Beatles album cover t-shirts: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road. When I looked at the vintage shirts upstairs I noticed there were lack of selections unlike before. The quirkiness appeal of this place is gone, but Bear Basics is a nice store to purchase decent apparel.

Assaulted Behind a Restaurant -- Mall Management Ignored My Requests for Help…read more Approximately seven months ago, I was punched behind a restaurant at Pacific East Mall. Afterward, I asked mall management to review the surveillance footage to help establish what had happened. My requests were ignored. I received no meaningful response and no confirmation that anyone had reviewed the footage. A report of physical violence deserves serious attention. I expected management to take my complaint seriously, check whether the incident was captured on camera, and respond. Instead, I was left without answers. My repeated phone calls went unanswered, making it extremely difficult to reach anyone who would address the situation. Being punched was disturbing enough. Having mall management ignore my requests afterward made the experience even worse. Their lack of response left me feeling unsafe and abandoned. Based on my experience, I have serious concerns about safety at this mall and management's willingness to respond when someone reports an assault. I do not feel safe returning. A mall that welcomes customers should take reports of violence seriously. Ignoring them is unacceptable.

However, I believe their prices were reasonable for a souvenir shop in a touristy city in a touristy area. The staff were helpful and the store itself was clean and well organized. It was pretty small though, which is usual for any San Francisco unit. Overall, I think it is a good place to shop for souvenirs, although not all products are related to the area or the local culture.
