Service is very friendly, food could be a bit spicier imho. However, they offer soy sauce and Siracha sauce, which can help. You can pay by card and sit outside. read more

It is hard to get good vegetarian versions, since most dishes use fish sauce and you can't just substitute soy sauce and have it taste right unless you really know how to use the rest of the seasonings. Clearly, they do here. The place was very quiet, which is surprising, because it is a gem. I ordered a big bowl of soup which was new to me. It had coconut milk and peanuts with several kinds of mushrooms and rice noodles. Highly recommended. I wish I were staying longer so I can return.

The food here is flavorful, rich, interesting, full of great textures and always presented with a smile. I was the only person at the restaurant, around 4pm. After I finished my dish I smiled and raised my hand to the server. She was talking on her cell (something I didn't see), and waved me away. I waited 15 minutes just sitting there as she continued to talk. No other staff were around. Once she got off the phone, she told me that they had stopped serving food for the day, for reasons completely baffling to me. So I asked for the check. Good food, but not remarkable…read more While visiting Berlin, and reading great reviews about Cat Tuong, we decided to give it a try. The service simply is not the best, and their wait list system is prone to errors. The server sat tables that arrived after us, before us just because they did not remember who was first, this is especially terrible on cold days. Aside from the average service, the food is the highlight. All the dishes that we tried were good, and decently priced, but non of them were remarkable. All in all, if you are in Berlin and want Asian inspired food, Cat Tuong is a decent option. My Criteria 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 stars: This restaurant should be closed.

The prices are pretty reasonable too. The Ducker dish (mock duck) is a MUST try. My friends and I all ordered it with either Red Curry or Peanut Butter. I got mine with peanut butter because I'm not the biggest fan of the strong coconut flavors of red/green curry. I thought the peanut butter curry was perfect, with strong but not overpowering fresh peanut flavors. Still, the peanut flavor is strong so I would only get it if you really like peanut butter. The veggies are hidden under the curry, and they were well-cooked. The duck is the star of the show though-- so tender on the inside and crispy on the outside.
