I went to Anna to get my brows microshaded two weeks ago. She's professional, knowledgeable and passionate about her work. I'm happy with my brows and I will be going back for a touch up in a few weeks. The first pic is the day I had them done. The second pic is 15 days later.

Final touch up of brows. Anna is a genius.

I wish I had more body parts to perfect with Anna's (pronounced Anya) services! I had lips done yesterday and eyeliner touchup. Her student was very warm and professional and I felt completely safe in their hands. The spot is undergoing renovations to "class it up" and it looks amazing. I can't say enough good things about the attention to detail, professionalism ad cleanliness of this spot!!

    Love my lips)))))

Went to Anna for eyebrow microblading two weeks ago after purchasing a Groupon and I'm so happy with the results.

Looking for a place to get a blowout? And no, boys, I mean a hair blow-dry--get your minds out of…read morethe gutter! AVEDA Institute is a great spot. It's a training school, so you'll have students doing your hair, and while they're working toward their certification, they're not compensated beyond tips--so remember to tip! They offer hairstyling, color treatments, and even facials, which are fantastic. Just be mindful of which level student you book with--since they're still learning, it can take a bit longer, and it might not be perfect, but it's great for simple services like blowouts (aka blow-drys). The students are super sweet, eager to please, and honestly do a great job. For a blow-dry, I paid around $25-30 with a tip, which is such a steal compared to what you'd normally pay in NYC. I've also had facials done there and they were wonderful--just ask for more experienced students when booking if you're nervous about that. I highly recommend AVEDA for a mini spa day that won't break the bank. It's not a Groupon deal--it's actually half the price of regular salons and spas in the city!

I've been visiting Aveda salon for about 10 years now and today was my final visit. Prices have…read moreincreased to the point that it is no longer a deal and the service is absolutely atrocious, both from supervisors and students. Today i went in for a color touch-up, something I had done about 6 times before. A dumpy, stocky, barrel of a woman in red lipstick started screaming me out for not know color codes. And not having a photograph of what was done in the past. What a nsaty attitude and a scream down in the middle of the salon. Reprimanding me about not knowing these are students and I SHOULD KNOW WHAT TO ASK FOR. Excuse me? I am paying $72 dollars for a service. Even if its student, I expect a bare minimum of service for my money. You are not doing clients a favor. Clients are doing you a favor to sit there for 5 hours so your students can make an absolute mess of their hair and then pay $72. Onto the students. The quality of students they have have zero competence. Again a bare minimum is expected when you charge $72. The students are so incompetent that they have no busienss even being students in any area. The school is doing a very poor job recruiting students. Most of the times you leave the insititute worse than you came in. The students dont give a rat's tail what they do. They are too much in a rush to sit and play with their iphones Lastly, they downright destroy your hair. During my blowdry she yanked so much of the hair out. I came out with a splitting headache. And after all this more of a surprise: A service that I expected to pay 50$ for came up to $62 plus 10$ tip. I could' ve gone to a professionals salon for this price. What a horrible experience. (you should've seen what they did to the client sitting next to me.)

She really listened to what I was looking for and even was willing to make a few adjustments after she had dried my hair. Everything from the washing of my hair, which was very relaxing to the gorgeous blowout she gave me was phenomenal. The only downside of the experience is that it does take a while because there is some waiting for the instructor to give feedback ( i.e. I was in there from 9 AM to 12 PM for my haircut) but Sophia was so easy to talk to the time flew by. I can tell all the students really take their time with haircuts and I would come back again!

The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and approachable, which makes the learning environment very comfortable. She scheduled me for classes starting Monday. However, on my very first day, I was told I could not attend class and could not take the English exam for the price I paid. She stated the $1,880 was only for the Chinese exam, and the English version would cost $3,500. This was never mentioned during enrollment after | clearly stated my needs. How could I possibly take a Chinese exam when I can't read the language? It's either a severe administrative failure or a deliberate trick to get people in the door. I have never seen a school treat a potential student with such disregard. Fortunately, received a refund, but the entire ordeal was a huge waste of time and energy. Be very careful and get everything in writing.
