DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL!!!!!!! THE DIRECTOR MR. THOMAS WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL. Mr. Thomas the guy in charge is TERRIBLE to the students and teachers. DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL. He literally makes our experience horrible. This feels like a prison, he yells at us if we go to the bathroom, he makes fun of our shoes, he also says he will kick us out at any time if we ask questions he doesn't like. I wish I NEVER came here. The teachers hate him, and all the girls in our class think he is SEXIST and is trying to make us feel like we're lower than him. We feel THREATENED by him and any time he walks into the class he is sleezy and staring at us, gross! The teachers have no say or power and he will still harass you with his presence, lord I hate this place Bc of manager Thomas!! Mr. Thomas makes this school feel like kindergarten and if we complain, he punishes us!! Ladies don't come to this awful place, go somewhere else!! The teachers are good but Mr. Thomas runs this school like his prison , and believe me, some of us have been in jail and this school is worse! He made a girl cry for having her period in class and didn't allow her to go use the bathroom. Everyone is scared of him, we are filing a lawsuit to get this man removed from the school because he is AGGRESSIVE towards us , and INTIMIDATES us like we're his battered wives or children. It's like being in a domestic violent relationship!! DO NOT COME HERE, YOU WILL NOT LEARN, YOU WILL CRY, YOU WILL FAIL OUT because this man only cares about taking your money and free loan grant dollars, not you! Mr. Thomas we are documenting all of your crimes against us students and teachers and will make sure your are fired because of this TORMENT you are inflicting on us. Some of us have kids, we gotta make it in life, we can't be a man like you so stop treating us like crap!! read more

Honestly reading these reviews about Mr. Thomas is ridiculous. I am currently an empire student who is about to graduate in a few days. I came into school today and was told Mr. Thomas is no longer our ED. This is real upsetting to me, considering this man came into our school and made changes for the better. A lot of the girls were disrespectful towards him because he enforced rules about dress code, makeup work and our break being 10 minutes. These are the rules of empire whether he is here or not. He was never loud nor did i ever hear him screaming at anyone. If you were disrespectful or not following the rules you were asked to clock out. I really feel like this man was doing his job. I do recommend this school, the teachers are great at what they do and I've learned a lot being here.. I'm disappointed that I'll be leaving and Mr. Thomas is no longer here and unable to share this day with students who actually appreciate the good things he has done for this campus. All these reviews complaining about him sound personal and they claim to be students at empire but using fake names. Something doesn't sound right. And i feel like maybe we should all have been spoken too about him. My name is Banin and i am a night time student. read more

As a current student, I am thrilled to be enrolled at Empire Beauty School. The application process alone took as few as about a week to complete. The environment is always lively and friendly. The instructors take their time to make sure you understand the tasks given to you as well as why you complete the instructed tasks. The student to Instructor ratio is about 20:1 which is very reasonable as it isn't too crowded and each student gets the time to ask individual questions about anything they might be unsure of. This school is very successful because the staff work hard to accomplish all the goals of the school. Students come from other schools and also find this location to be better or more convenient. The instructors also well monitor and work with the students to avoid mishaps with clients but it is evident that not all clients are easy to please. I am definitely glad I considered coming to this location to study in Cosmetology. If you like a positive environment and is attentive in your learning, Empire is the place for you. If you are a client, the prices are also very affordable and they try their best to accommodate your needs. Go Empire! read more

I gave Empire Beauty School five stars.. Upon entering Empire Beauty School, I had no knowledge on understanding the Structure of hair, and doing hair.. I have been attending Empire Beauty School for six weeks now.. I have adapted well to understanding the text theories, and doing well with the practical such as doing Permanent Waving, Hair and Scalp Treatments, Hair Relaxers, Thermal Curling, Soft Curl Perms, Finger Waves, which at first was hard to do, and Pedicure& Manicure.. I have learned how to do all this within six weeks.. I had no prior experience in doing any of these services..The Educator's at Empire Beauty is very well Professional with outstanding knowledge of hair.. Their teaching is superb... My Current teacher is an Amazing Woman, I fell in love with her on the first day of being in her class.. She has a warm, endearing Personality.. With her teaching, you see the compassion she has for Cosmetology.. Am so happy I chose to attend Empire Beauty School.. I highly recommend this School to those who is interested in going into Cosmetology... read more

The review about Mr Thomas is a complete lie ! This man has done nothing but help these ungrateful students at Empire ! We have a strict dresscode at Empire which is all black and these students feel completely entitled to wear what ever they please ! When he does his job which is to enforce dress code, it's a problem ! Mr Thomas has gone above and beyond for these ungrateful students. As a current student at Empire, I've watched them speak to him with total disregard and disrespect. It's disgusting that they used their lies to tarnish his name and reputation which ultimately led to him being fired. Shame on Empire and shame on you students for telling a complete LIE ! read more

Great school. Excellent teachers. The salons ok if you need an inexpensive do. I'm a student. If you need color, please be advised that your going to have to come in prior to getting your hair done for a consultation and patch test. A lot of people complain about that, but better safe then sorry. So when you call, you are making an appointment to get a patch test. If u don't have an allergic reaction, then you will come in to get your color done. And teachers will help so don't feel scared about having students do your hair. read more
