Exam room. So cozy, comfortable and relaxing
Sascha J.

I attended the Tia grand opening of this location with a girlfriend and we were so excited to witness a place that I personally feel every woman should be able to visit. For starters, the staff are all WONDERFUL. So helpful, kind, caring and gentle. The space is gorgeous and comfortable. I signed up for the monthly membership and visited for my annual preventative after having a virtual appt to set up my care plan and wow. THIS is the place to go for your gyno needs ladies. Honestly as someone who gets anxious with certain procedures and more uncomfortable/invasive appts I literally felt like I was at home. The comfort and care is just amazing. They let me take as much time as I needed to get situated and were very thorough with reviewing my health and all my needs/ care going forward. They had different robes for different types of comfort, the exam rooms are cozy, quiet and so relaxing. They also had supplies I could keep that were high quality. Erin is just wonderful. Following my exam anything I needed the care team on my online portal was so attentive, helpful and on top of things I needed. They even worked with me regarding alternatives to things, my sensitivities and what would make me most comfortable. I have also had bloodwork drawn at this location and mind you I get very anxious with needles. They let my boyfriend in the room for support and the lab technician was so kind and gentle. They also worked with me regarding adding things to my bloodwork I requested. I just love this place and honestly I actually look forward to my appointments :)

I had the single worst experience with a doctor in my entire life, with Dr.Salceda. I had the…read moreunfortunate experience of seeing this doctor after I lost my job and had to go start paying for my own health insurance. Dr.Salceda office was one of the few gynecologists that would take my insurance and could see me within the next three months. I read the bad reviews but didn't think it could be that bad... oh was I mistaken. I was taken back to the old, run down room to sit in my paper nightgown, waiting for Salceda for 25 minutes, after already having been taken back for my appointment 20 minutes late. When the Dr walks in, she's cold and abrupt, not a great first impression, but I give her the benefit of the doubt (wrong move). I explain that I'm just here to get my annual exam to continue my birth control prescription and she says she can only do that after a Pap smear (typical) and a blood test. I'm ever averse to needles and have never had my blood drawn so I explain that I don't want to have my blood drawn, am I still able to get my prescription refilled? And she says no, she will not refill my perscription without a blood test and a Pap smear. I ask why and she says "how else am I going to know if you have diabetes?" Um what???? I'm 26 cooking in for an annual gynecologist appointment, I think we would know if I had diabetes and also, I've NEVER had a gynecologist require a blood test to refill my prescription for birth control and I've had 3 different gnyos from moving states. She's VERY abrupt during her examination, NO bedside manner whatsoever. I'm not going to go into detail, but she then diagnosis me with something that completely caught me off guard because I had none of the symptoms and it was something any woman would know if she was having problems with. She provides no explanation or detail when I'm clearly confused as I've never experienced this. Added detail, I got a second opinion and she was completely wrong, I had nothing. She then tells me to put my clothes back on and to go into her office, which I do, where she says over and over that I will have to go somewhere else because she won't prescribe me birth control without a blood test. She then doesn't explain why and doesn't explain the prescription she's giving me and basically dismisses me out of the room. I believe Dr.Salceda's practice exemplifies how terrible our healthcare system is. This is an office for people who have bad health insurance because that's all they can afford and they seem to take advantage of these people. I paid $300 per month for health insurance and she is what I was stuck with??? Ridiculous. If I could rate Dr.Salceda negative stars, I would. No woman deserves to be treated like this, especially in such a vulnerable practice. ** the nurses were wonderful and the only saving grace of this terrible experience.

If you have any sensitivity about gynecological issues at all don't go here. They don't even give you a gown, just a flimsy paper sheet to cover yourself. She also made derogatory comments about the way I dressed. Lastly, the office does not accept credit/debit cards and demanded cash at the end of my visit. I wish I had trusted my instincts and never gone back after the first visit.

Pros: - I like the app, makes things like self check in and pulling up prescriptions/appointments easy - Dr. Chaikin is great. I'm the type of person who only goes to the doctor when I have an issue (sometimes years in between visits), and Dr. Chaikin has always been spot on with his diagnosis and recommendations. I'm a big webmd guy but it's really just not the same as hearing it from an expert. Pretty much the only reason I drive halfway across town to come to this location. - Seems to accept all insurance plans, I've switched a few in the past 5+ years and Cedars has taken all of them - Location is 'relatively new' and still looks really clean Cons: - Parking is not free. There is validation but last time I went I think it only took $3 off. If you think you're going to be there for a while I'd consider not parking in the structure.

Trying to make an appointment was very hard the wait is over 2 hours, when I finally get through someone he is extremely rude, sarcastic, and ends up hanging up on me. Day 1: I was greeted by Latoya and had my service with Dr. Bjorn. First red flag was that Latoya came up to me to pressure me to please do a review on yelp and make sure it was 5 stars, when I had not seen the doctor yet. After the service I left at front desk some paper work to be filled out by my Doctor, it turns out that the paper work was misplaced, was not communicated to me and when I would ask them about the status they will say that it was not filled out yet. One month later I get called from Cynthia, clinic manager, asking me about what paper work I was talking about and that she was never told about it.. wowww after all the wait. The worse part is that Cynthia after telling her everything that happened, her attitude becomes rude, defensive, and disrespectful. Cynthia was never apologetic about what had happened and just decided to hang up on me. Later that day I decide to call back and reschedule my appointment and to my surprise I get the same guy who answered the first time I called as a new patient and, believe it or not, his attitude was the same, rudeeee . I ask to be transfer to some else and he transfers me to Sandra who did not speak English and sounded like a robot, every time I asked a question she did not know how to answer, so I decided to ask for a manager and to my surprise she was one of the managers. .. Hours later I get a called from Alissa, saying that I was no longer going to be seen by my doctor because MINE ATTITUDE WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE... I was very surprise and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Pleaseeeeee do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, this place is not worth the time and money .... Dr. Lapilles, if you are reading this review, I Ask you kindly to please do a major and urgent costumer service training to everyone. The people that are running your facility are doing the worst job ever, please take time to see all yelp and google reviews and you will realize that this is not the only bad review, but one of many following. Please start with the staff which called themselves managers and cannot even apologize for anything or be compassionate. For everyone else let me warn you that as a patient of these facilities you will 1) wait for 2 hours just to make an appointment 2) will not have communication from staff and you will have to contact them to find about any kind of status and if you are lucky the person that answers won't have an attitude. 3) paper work to be lost and not be communicated about it or even apologized. 4) if you complain about your service, you are at risk of getting banned as a patient. 5) no compassion or understanding from staff. Read all the reviews and will find out that this place is not worth it.

I love that they have a lot of availability (including on Saturdays). I've booked next day appointments at other Tia locations without any hassle. Tia as a whole seeks to foster a community of women who care about their health. This is reflective in the virtual book club and occasional free workshops (see Pasadena location). Everyone I've interacted with at this location has treated me with decency and respect. Parking is a little crazy here but I suggest parking on one of the side streets near Inca and walking over. Just make sure to read the street signs. If you're looking to empower yourself by taking care of your health as a woman, Tia is a good starting point.

I called to let them know, and they said don't come - we can't see you... it's literally insane for them to be based in LA and not budget extra time between appointments. So stupid lol. The best part was the girl I spoke with called the office, put me on hold, then took me off hold and said they couldn't make it work and my doctor was "running behind"... I said, so doesn't that mean she's actually going to be late to my appointment anyways? LOL. She goes, "well, I mean, if you're late then she'll actually be pushed back." Right... Then I get home and get notified that I'm being charged a $75 cancellation fee... for cancelling on me? Going to call them to get this fixed or dispute this with my credit card company given lack of service and the undisclosed strictness of the cancellation policy. DO NOT BOOK HERE - if you hit any LA traffic, you're screwed. Also, I work in private equity so I get it given the PE ownership, but this is extreme. Quality of care probably suffers because of these dynamics too. Will most likely be choosing a different provider as my OBGYN.

At the first appointment, I showed up late in the afternoon, a half hour after the appointment. Dr. Lansdowne assured me it was no probem and we didn't finish until after 6PM and I'm sure she got out of there much later. The history she took was thorough. During my pregnancy, although I had no symptoms, Dr. Lansdowne identified something called bacteral vaginosis. She treated it immediately and further tests indicated that it went away. Additionally, I called once complaining about itching and a discharge. She saw me the next day evaluated my symptoms, gave me medication and called me several days later to see how I was doing. When I was getting ready to deliver, a week before my due date, my contractions started coming about 4 minutes apart and my husband rushed me to the hospital. Dr Lansdowne was working that night. They placed a monitor on my abdomen to check the contractions and hear the baby's heart rate. They checked my cervix dilation which was not as large as they wanted it. A lot of time passed but I gave birth the next afternoon. Dr. Lansdowne was friendly, even loving, and I'm definitely seeing her again. I came back a few weeks later because I was leaking urine; Dr. Lansdowne performed the surgery. Again I found her bedside manner wonderful. It's been 5 months since the surgery and I'm very happy with the results.
