The main library is large and split into sections such as media is in a seperate room just off the main area. There is plenty of choice, with new best sellers being available for one week loan, with most books being three weeks. If its a certain book you are after you can register online and order the book in for collection and also online you can renew. The staff are friendly and helpful too. It does need a little bit of tlc as the interior is a bit dated but it kinda adds to the charm of the place. Also if have time go upstairs to the art gallery asits worth a ponder too.

However, i wouldnt advice going in if your looking for something specific and particularly modern. I went in recently for 'The Hunger Games' for a neighbour of mine and they didnt have it. I would say the library caters mostly for the elderly members of Tickhill, so if you are a younger member of society and have an interest in spiritual or ancient historical books id stick to amazon.com.

Computer/printer and internet access at not cost to library members. millions upon millions of books to choose from and if the one you want isnt there, the staff will order it for you and it take on average 3 days to get to you and they call you when they have the item requested. a great library and very present to spend time in, they even have special even for the children. me and my daughter recently went to the teddy bears picnic and it was brilliant, stories crafts, cake and more. she loved it and so did i well done guys :D glad to have a place like this in the village

There is disabled access, some posts to lock bikes to, and the area in front of the library is nicely landscaped. I have always found the librarians to be helpful and courteous. The local surestart centre runs a rhyme time there on the 1st Thursday of every month, and this is very well attended.

I don't have time to go to the library very often but every time I do I always wish I went more. I…read morego to the local library in Armthorpe because it's handy and easy to get to, just outside of the main village centre. The staff are really friendly usually, and especially when you first start going it can be a bit confusing (well it was for me anyway!) so its good to be able to ask for help and advice without feeling like a total twit. I've managed to hire out quite a lot of books that I thought would have been hard to get hold of which has saved me a fortune and they've got thousands of books, all free! They also have reference books if you're doing research, and I think they do story sessions for little kids although I tend not to hang around those :) If you haven't been to a library in a while, give it a go, it's a free day out and you're bound to find something to take your fancy.

Conisbrough library staff are always approachable and friendly and there are many groups run for the community including parent/toddler groups etc. Conisbrough library has other agencies running help sessions for the community on various days of the week.

Libraries are one of those things in life that tend to get over looked. Ok so its less of a…read moreshopping high than buying shoes for example, but I always get such a trill from a really good book. I can get lost in a book for days, if anybody tries to talk to me while I am reading all they will get out of me is a glare, I should wear a do not disturb sign. The fact that you have to give them back after you have read them doesn't matter as you just go and pick up a new one. Set in a lovely building it has that musty smell that all good libraries do, a mixture of dust and knowledge. I have been going here for months and there are still many titles that I am planning to read. They also have a great service where you can renew you books over the phone; you may never need to pay a fine again. Libraries are also the hub of any community and a really good start for getting involved with the people around you.
