This review omits the water park and, instead, focuses on the ice cream shop and mini golf. We've been coming here for years. The mini golf is one of the best in LBI. The courses are creative and fun, with twists and turns over wooden bridges and under waterfall caverns. In fact, there are two separate paths you can take, making multiple visits worth it. The course is also well maintained and clean. It can get a little crowded, and suffers from the "people waiting right behind you" problem most other mini golf courses have. The ice cream shop is fantastic! They have a standard array of flavors and toppings, and can do most anything you might want to order from an ice cream shop. What makes this place so unique (and the reason we come back) is that they serve Dippin' Dots! Those little cryogenically frozen ice cream beads are hard to find. They serve not just one or two flavors, but an entire assortment of flavors. Our most recent visit was when they had the Kettle Corn flavor on special, which was a delicious sweet and salty mix. You can also expect the classic Dots flavors, such as Mint Chocolate Chip, Banana Split, and Cookies n Cream. Parking can be a little difficult because of how crowded Bay Village and Fantasy Island can get, but once inside there is ample seating. Never tried the water park, but it looks like it might be fun if that's your thing.

Excellent water park. Great for kids. The size is great as it is manageable with smaller kids. 2 hours was plenty.

First off there are not nearly enough bathrooms, especially in the adult bar section. Second, when we asked for one, we were told to go out the glass doors. When we tried coming back in a security guard magically appeared saying we had to go back around to the front even though there was no signage saying we had to and despite the actual waterpark staff telling us to use that bathroom. When we asked for the manager that's when Britney T showed up. Incredibly rude, absolutely abysmal customer service by Britney the head of security. She showed up with aggressive attitude, escalating instead of calming the situation, telling, telling us we lacked common sense. She said she wasn't responsible for us not seeing the sign until we left (what the fuck, her logic is room temp iq levels) and that's the way it was. She made my girlfriend feel u safe and forced her to go around to the entrance again. She even said some ridiculous crazy hyperbole about how we might have razor blades in bathing suits, so we were a security risk that necessitated us to go back around. Truly horrible experience due solely to arbitrary, violent, rude worst staff on the planet. Let this serve as a warning to all Latinos and minorities, this park will disrespect you and treat you like trash, don't spend your money here.

We arrived right when the park opened at noon and were lucky enough to find a spot to put our things and let the kids eat. For about the first hour, we had a good time, but after that the park became overwhelmingly crowded. We got in line for the tube slides and waited about 40 minutes. During that time, we noticed there were long lines for absolutely everything the body slides, the lazy river, and even just getting tubes for the tube slides. Some of the delays seemed to come from a lack of organization, but honestly the biggest issue was simply overcrowding. By the time we got off the ride, it was difficult to even move across the park. People were leaving their belongings everywhere, and the water in the main pool which seemed to be the only pool for everyone had even changed color from how crowded and overused it was. What was most surprising was that even as the park became nearly impossible to navigate, people were still continuing to come in. It honestly made us question whether the park was properly monitoring or respecting capacity limits at all.

I honestly wish I could give this place 100 stars…read more Breakwater Beach was fun pre-COVID, but I have to give credit where credit is due: they truly have gone above and beyond in order to ensure their guests are SAFE during this weird AF time. We've been going to Breakwater Beach for years. Although it is not as fancy as say Hurricane Harbor, Breakwater Beach HAS renovated in the past few years and everything is sparkly and new. While their number of attractions is on the smaller side, there is still a good enough selection of things to cool you off on a hot day. Not to mention, they have plenty of lifeguards posted at various spots in the park, and they are quick to tell a misbehaving child if they are, for example, horsing around in the wave pool. (Not that I have ANY experience with this... *side eyes rambunctious 6 year old niece*) However, during COVID, this place is DOING THE DAMN THING! Doing any sort of 'fun' activity during COVID is admittedly a calculated risk. Yet I truly felt like I was well-protected because I have never seen such an aggressive form of sanitation in my life. Breakwater Beach had designated sanitizers for all of the attractions - so you got off your inner tube, and it was immediately sprayed with sanitizer. You walked on a ride, you sanitized your hands. You flew down the 'banana slide,' screamed your face off, and handed your matt to get a thorough cleaning. Social distancing markers were everywhere and workers wore masks. I wish we took such drastic sanitation measures at my job, TBH! But the best part is...we booked a birthday party at Breakwater Beach for my rambunctious 6-year-old niece (the one mentioned above who TOTALLY WAS NOT HORSING AROUND IN THE WAVEPOOL!). We were given a designated a cabana for our partying and an associated who was in charge of the party. Shout out to Katie for being the MVP of Breakwater Beach. Holy moly, this girl did not stop for us all day - bringing water, pizza, goodie bags, ensuring everyone was happy...to be so peppy and so helpful is honestly a feather in her cap. Breakwater Beach, please give Katie a raise immediately. We were the first group to book a party there; perhaps we are crazy, but if your child has a birthday in the next few weeks and you're in the area, please inquire about having it at Breakwater Beach. Because the water park is opened at limited capacity, there was essentially no wait for the attractions, and we were able to freely ride all day, up until 6pm at night. Breakwater Beach was always clean, fun, and friendly, but now, it has really become a great place to bring the kids during COVID. Don't sit on this one! PS - their food is amazing. It's just greasy boardwalk food, but it's delicious greasy boardwalk food.

While on a road trip heading south, we decided to explore a few spots. Originally, we planned to stop in Atlantic City, but since we weren't getting tattoos (our longtime artist is based there), it didn't make much sense to go. Thankfully, we figured that out just before hitting Exit 82 on the Garden State Parkway! It felt a little surreal--and honestly, nostalgic--to walk around and see the places we'd only watched on MTV. Naturally, the first place we headed was The Shore Store (also reviewed separately!). We purchased a round-trip Sky Ride pass for two for under $20. The ride was smooth, peaceful, and gave us a great overhead view of the pubs, games, and amusement rides the Jersey Shore crew once enjoyed. After the ride, we grabbed some snacks, including shrimp and fries. It was a cool, crispy, not greasy, meal that hit the spot. Overall, this stop was a fun, quick detour full of throwback energy and beach-town charm. If you're ever nearby and want a little slice of pop culture and coastal boardwalk vibes, it's worth the visit!

To ride on the boardwalk on a beautiful Sunday morning is a an experience that is unforgettable. There are people that travel long distances to be at this event. His wife told me he just had surgery and his last wish is to see the Corvette he once owned, a 1982 Collector Edition Corvette. I gave him a full tour of my car, I explained I had the car recently rebuilt to my specifications. I let him sit in my car as his family cried and took pictures.
