On a recent trip back to the east coast, I stopped here to visit a friend who was here with his children. I was surprised to see how empty it was; the majority of the people go to Hammonton Park during the day. That keeps the Borough Field a pretty well kept secret!!! They've put a lot of money into the baseball field recently. From an electronic scoreboard, to stadium lights, to enclosed dug-outs, its a great place to play. The park has lots of parking on the street around it, or you can always park at the church next door... Though, I'm sure they wouldn't be too thrilled with me suggesting that, but who goes to church these days any way??? I've spent a lot of time here playing softball, climbing trees, and playing squish the lemon (best game EVER!), and encourage parents to allow their children to do the same!!!

The slides are good and steep, there are plenty of swings, mini climbing wall, nice springy ride-on toys, and a tandem swing for toddler and mom or older sibling. There is a walking path and exercise equipment for parents with view of the playground and a nice picnic area in the middle of the park. The ground is spongy, so no scraped knees. I would recommend going in the morning or on a warm (but not too hot) day, since there is no shade. Also, bring a jacket if it is at all chilly, since the breeze blows from the bay into the park. Also, use the bathroom beforehand, since a portapotty is your only option once you are there. The park is free - definitely check it out! And then swing on over to the Popcorn Park Zoo when they open at 11.
