I first visited this marina 29 years ago, and I'm happy to report it's still going strong! There's…read moresomething truly special about a place that stands the test of time, and this spot has done exactly that. While it has likely changed hands a few times over the decades, the charm and character that made it memorable all those years ago are clearly still alive and well. On my original visit, I enjoyed a great dinner and even rented a jet ski for a fun run out on the water -- the kind of experience that sticks with you for nearly three decades! It's rare to revisit a place from your past and find that history hasn't swallowed it up, but this marina has managed to hold onto what makes it special. If you're anywhere near this part of Georgia, this is absolutely a must-stop destination. Whether you're a boating enthusiast, a casual visitor, or just looking for a taste of authentic coastal Georgia, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend!

It was nearly 7 at the time and the marina was closed so that is why I called him the next day. The Bubba Gumbos manager saw the beam sticking halfway out in the parking lot as shown in my picture and he is the one who pushed it back on the trailer bed. I have no idea why it was sticking out dangerously as shown on the picture. It was around 7 and the sun glare made it hard to see as shown in my pictures. You can see the attitude and extreme lack of care in the owners response. I was always polite and respectful so that is a blatant lie saying I was belligerent. I have all the texts between us and am happy to share. Their negligence damaged my vehicle and I ran in front of another vehicle that nearly hit the beam right after me preventing a second accident within just a few minutes. I even offered to split the repair costs to which I received no reply at all. I tried to work with him, but he treated me extremely unprofessionally. We were planning to eat at Bubba Gumbos that night and had been looking to take a boat out to Little Tybee while on our trip, but will never use this marina or eat here. I advise you to do the same.

This is the first time I have ever written a review. After a…read morelong day south on the ICW we pulled into the Thunderbolt Ga area for the night. The first marina on the port was Savannah Bend Marina. We needed fuel and a slip. After several minutes at the fuel dock without service I began to walk up to the office when a lady appeared on the porch yelling something. As I got closer she was yelling something about the fuel. Thinking that there was something wrong with the pump I approached within talking distance explaining that I did not want to communicate by yelling. I went into the office to discover 3 other employees. The lady told me that the pump was turned on and to go ahead and pump. I went back to the boat and began fueling. The pump ran very slow and I realized that it would take a long time to pump an estimated 150 gallons. It was windy, cold and wet and the pump handle did not have a latch to keep the pump activated without hand application so I went back to the office to find out if there was some other high flow pump available or the get one of the 3 employees to pump the fuel, after all I was the customer. Instead one of the employees suggested that I place a water bottle in the pump handle. I asked if they had one. The lady suggested that I could fuel up somewhere else, not something that I wanted to do in the moment, nor did I want to move the boat to another marina for the night. One of the employees reluctantly, to the point that I asked him if there was a problem, located a Gatoraid bottle for me to use to hold down the pump handle. I pumped the fuel without any assistance from the staff, cutting off the purchase at 100 gallons when it would have taken much more. After paying for the fuel ($299) and $75 for the night on the fuel dock 2 of the employees finally came to the boat to assist in moving the boat a few feet forward on the fuel dock where we stayed the night. The service here was so awful to the point that I felt that I was intruding. Adding insult to injury, because of a death in the family we needed to find a marina to leave the boat for a few weeks. No help was to be found at Savannah Bend. Ended up a few miles away at Bull River Marina where the service could not have been more friendly.

After spending some vacation time at the marina with my boat, I was talked to like a dog when I was ready to leave and was embarrassed and humiliated by a nasty lady named Mary. She obviously has mental issues and not be in a customer service environment. All I received after spending a lot of money at this marina was hateful, rude and unprofessional behavior by Mary! Worst Marina I have ever been to!!!!!!!!!!!!!
