I came here because they were having a charity event, trying to raise money for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, as the most amount of people to brew a beer.
It was easy to find, and you can't miss the green trucks on the street that are posted with Thunder Road Brewing. Here I got a tour of the brewery, with an explanation of the brewing process. It was fun adding hops to the big kettle, and seeing the head brewers explaining everything to you. I must say that all of the staff were very friendly.
On the downside, the main thing that I missed was that this brewery didn't have food on location. Sure, they have eateries around the block, and on this certain day, they had a food truck right outside their door. And I wish I had gotten tasting notes. I ordered a paddle, and could not for the life of me remember which beer was which. Sure when the beer-man first helps you out, he explains everything to you, at the bar. But once I sat down to try these out, I didn't know A from B. So, if I liked one more than the others, I was basically helpless to know what it was.
If it wasn't for the charity cause, I don't think I would have ever made it to TR Brewing. But I'm glad that I did, I helped brew a beer! read more
