All this, in a short span of time -- 3 months. (I also did counseling with Elly Sanchez -- who was also great! -- see review). Highly recommended!

My only issue is with Bridges Counseling, the agency she works under. I tried for over a month to get in to see her while on medication that I was getting low on (a little over 2 weeks out so I wasn't that "emergency" type patient that I've had to work with). No one would return my calls. Ultimately, I had to titrate myself off of a SNRI and had to find someone to pick me up cold without access to my medical records. Not ideal. Definitely not impressed with Bridges. I preferred her old agency as they were much better at communicating with me about appointments, medications, and questions. If Anne Marie had her own practice or was still under her old agency, I'd still be seeing her. The odd thing is I received a return call in August/September 2017. I'd been calling in April and May of 2017. Just something future clients might want to be aware of. I also had no direct way of reaching Anne Marie, so perhaps she will see this feedback and realize there is an issue with her staff's communication.

She was very professional and very knowledgeable, providing me with various approaches in dealing with my situation. I decided on a procedure that would alleviate my problems in a particular manner and she was very understanding and supportive of my decision. She also gave me the option to change my mind whenever I needed. I did not feel pressured one way or another. The surgery was quicker than I anticipated, recovery was great, and Dr. Eaton did a wonderful job. I was off of the pain medicine in two nights, and I have minimal scarring. I feel very confident in Dr. Eaton's skills and I appreciate her respecting my decisions as an adult woman, as some people are not always as understanding. Additionally, the staff and PAs are also great. I have always had a great experience there, and everyone is very kind and helpful. All around, I think the world of WCA and they have treated me so well.

Unfortunately, after multiple experiences, I will not be returning. Most recently, I was seen for urinary symptoms and provided a urine sample. I was told that a prescription to treat a UTI would be sent to my pharmacy. It is now the following day, Friday, and despite calling multiple times and sending a message through the patient portal, my prescription still has not been sent. I called again this afternoon, an hour before they close, and had to leave a message. With the office closed on weekends, I fear I will have to spend additional money going to urgent care or making a telehealth appointment to prevent the infection from getting worse. Unfortunately, this also isn't my first difficult experience here. During a previous visit with a different physician while I was experiencing a miscarriage, I had a very uncomfortable, painful transvaginal ultrasound during which the probe was not inserted far enough. I was already going through an incredibly difficult experience, and with a history of SA, the unnecessary physical pain made the situation significantly worse. I chose not to complain at the time because the physician was otherwise very kind. I can overlook an uncomfortable experience or an occasional mistake, but I cannot overlook difficulty obtaining prescribed treatment after repeatedly contacting an office, especially going into a weekend, and after multiple incidents where I felt my care and treatment was not properly valued. Kind providers matter, but communication and timely follow-through matter too. After this experience, I've decided to establish care elsewhere. If you do choose this clinic, I sincerely hope your experience is better than mine, but based on my experiences, I cannot recommend it.

There is no way in hell I would suggest going to see this nurse practitioner…read more I chose to see Paula because she has treated a few other women in my family so I figured it would be wise to see someone who knows my family's medical background. When I first started seeing her (about a year and a half ago) I noticed her straight forward demeanor. Which is nice because I would rather have a doctor tell it to me straight rather than candy coat things. Anyway, she helped me get on birth control and medications necessary to treat an anxiety/depression problem I'd had for a while. Everything was working pretty well so no big deal. The only issue at that point (the first 6 months or so) was that she doesn't bill insurance. Oh well, I could live with that. She is a women's health focused practice so she can do the annual female check-ups and everything, and she also tended to my mother when she was pregnant with me. So when my husband and I found out I was pregnant I was relatively confident that she would be a good source of information and care as well as an aid in finding the right OBGYN for me. Well, I was very wrong. She did immediately switch my antidepressants to a brand that is safe for pregnancy but told me that there wasn't any anti anxiety medications safe for pregnancy. Anxiety had subsided with the pregnancy hormones so that wasn't a huge issue for the first 7 months. Over the course of my first and most of my second trimesters she would not tell me when I needed to see her and she would not tell me if I needed any tests done after the initial blood work (I later found out that she had only ordered them to test for 2 different things rather than the full STI/Disease screen). Whenever I went in, she would tell me that I was obese (I'm 5'5" and I weigh 140lbs, I've always been muscular and I have a high bone density to boot.) and she would poke around my belly and take my blood pressure but that was it. She rarely took notes and almost every time I saw her she would ask how far along I was or if I had gotten test X done. She didn't tell me anything about what was happening to my body and when I hit 20 weeks she asked me if I'd gone in to find out the gender or get the fetal measurements taken. (I had actually called a sonogram place but they told me I needed a doctor's referral because I was too far along to go without one) I responded "No, you didn't tell me I needed to do that." This had been my answer for quite a few questions she would regularly ask me. When I finally told her I wanted to see an OBGYN (I'd been asking for a few weeks and she kept telling me it wasn't necessary yet) she told me to get a list from my insurance company and she'd tell me who I should see. I got her the list, and she had me come in on THREE separate occasions to "tell me who I should see" but all she did was check my vitals and then say she hadn't made any calls yet. After a month of this (when I was on week 23) I decided to do a self referral to a local woman's clinic at the hospital in which I will be delivering. When I went in, I brought all the records Paula had on me (which consisted of 5 hand written pages and some xrays from when I'd broken my foot) and when I got in to see a doctor, she asked why I had brought only some of my records and why xrays were involved. My answer was that that was everything Paula had on me. Then the doctor asked me questions about different tests I should have had done and then she became frustrated that I had no idea what she was talking about (not with me, with the "care" I'd received). Pretty much, that was a massive appointment where she had to go through every piece of information I never received going to Paula. When I left, she said that she was impressed with how calm I was and how well my baby was doing seeing as how we had pretty much been on our own as far as medical care was concerned. She concluded in saying she hopes she never meets the woman I'd been seeing previously. This brings us to the present where I am still dependent on Paula for medication refills and I have been trying to get medication for my anxiety which has returned with a vengeance. I told her two weeks ago that I was suffering from anxiety attacks, and she said she would make some calls on what medication to prescribe. She said if I didn't hear from her by the following Tuesday (4 business days later) to call her and she'd have an answer. Thanksgiving week was hectic so I was unable to call her. I called her on Monday of this week and she told me she hadn't made any calls and she would get back to me "probably tomorrow or by the end of the week." Well, today is Friday and she usually doesn't work on Fridays so here we are. **UPDATE** After I finally switched my care to my OBGYN completely, I was informed that I was lucky my panic attacks didn't send me into early labor. I was also encouraged by my new doctor (after the birth of my DS) to write a letter to the nursing board in our city and report her.

The nurse receptionist was very pleasant, took husband's details, and took him back immediately. I was invited to go with him, which I most assuredly wanted to do, and see him get a needle in the arm. She examined the puncture wound, after taking all of his vitals. She was very fast and efficient. I expected to have to wait for a doctor to come in, which is kind of standard in any doctor's office, in my experience. The doctor was there within a few minutes, and he had a good sense of humour, which I liked. He told husband to rest the foot, and keep his weight off it. ( "that ain't happening" I muttered under my breath) He also said that tetanus isn't in Alaska. I found that curious, and I googled it. So whilst it's rarer up here, in my opinion, I would venture forth that if anyone was gonna get it, my husband would be the one. He's quite an unlucky fella. Anyway, the tetanus booster shot was prescribed, and the doctor left the room. Seconds later, the nurse came back in, and administered the shot, and put a bandaid over the puncture wound. No antibiotics were prescribed at this stage, however she said they'd be in touch in two days to make sure it was healing well, and to contact them should any signs of infection become apparent. We were in and out within 20 minutes. Now yes, this is a smaller office, and I personally prefer it, due to how speedily we were seen. I had a wait of over 2 hours when going to the one where REI used to be. That one is large, with lots of receptionists, and we had to wait in the car, till we were called into the building for an examination. I prefer this small office approach.
