Arrived at 7:40pm and got sour faces from the people (lady at the counter and male server) working there upon entering the restaurant. Felt awkward so i immediately asked if its still ok to come in. Staff said, only take out and if you are dining in, you need to eat fast. WTH? Very very disappointed on how they treat guests. They need to adjust their operating hours to 7:30pm and not 8:00pm as posted. If they dont want to serve guests at those time, make it just a take out restaurant instead. read more

After a long flight, a long drive and a tiring 1/2 day of work, I was entitled to a good meal. After turning to Yelp for suggestions (and eliminating all the chain restaurants in the area), I settled on Thuan Hoa. Pork chop, egg and rice? I'm in! The restaurant was pretty chaotic when I got there. There was only one waitress, a line of people waiting by the register and a LOT tables that needed to be cleared off. As the waitress was busy, it did take here awhile to come to the table and it really did cross my mind to go somewhere else. (But, I was oh-so-tired that I figured I could wait another 10-15 minutes.) On Monday's, there's a special for $1.00 spring rolls, so I just ordered one in hopes that it would come out quickly. It did. And...it was really good! My friend Ruth H. makes the best spring rolls (IMO), but these came a close 2nd! I kept it simple and ordered the grilled pork chop, egg and rice (#53), but they have a great selection on their menu! I kept eyeing the orders from other tables and thought everything looked/smelled great! My meal was really good and the portion was actually too much, so I ate some for breakfast. Don't judge. The food was great, but I would probably call in an order for pick-up to avoid having to deal with the chaos inside. read more

Came here after reading the reviews online and was not disappointed! Food portions are massive and at an excellent price point. I got #33 - rare beef, tendon and meat balls with satay. Lots of noodles, lots of beef and tendons. It was a bit short on the meat balls, but they were really good - which is why I would've liked more! Their beef balls are different from other beef balls I've tried. They seemed less fatty and just had a really good flavour. All the food was fresh and I didn't have the MSG after taste I usually get after eating Vietnamese. Bonus! I highly recommend coming here. The spot was busy and the service was quick and friendly. Worst Vietnamese food in Lethbridge. I was served an unspiced, unseasoned, deep-fried pork chop on a mountain of plain white rice. The meat was bland and over-cooked, and the whole dish had no flavour. The servers were friendly enough, but never came to clear empty appy plates or bring the bill. Average food and setting for Vietnamese food. Order those house pho in medium. Size wise it seems a little small compare to what I am used to. Price also seems high for that size (comparing to what I am used to in Toronto). Food wise, it was average nothing too specific. Soup base seem fairly generic. Was a little disappointed that the bean sprout came after the noodles so I had to drop them in fast in order to cook it a little. read more

First time here and it was delicious. The food was fast and fresh. There seemed to be a steady stream of people either sitting down or grabbing take out even though it was the middle of the afternoon. The portions were huge. I only had room for half my food and thought I was going to be sick because I couldn't stop eating it tasted so good. The salad roll was large and tasty too. The chairs were hard and the decor was dated but the food and price is worth it. Also the service was very attentive and friendly. Will be back soon. read more

Even though the place is a total dive, the Pho is the best in town. One of the few places that will give you some basil/mint as a condiment. One of the better hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Lethbridge. read more

Thuan Hoa is the best Vietnamese place in Lethbridge! It's a friendly, family owned business. Their seafood pho broth is a bit plain, but the regular broth is pretty good. Perhaps under new ownership? I found the reviews and the pictures previously published do not match our experience at all. Heading to Salgonese on Christmas Eve and finding it closed, we noticed this small restaurant was open and ventured in. I was quite ill and so my date ordered plain broth to start (not on the menu) and we followed that with chicken curry and a seafood platter. The food was cooked to perfection and was extremely fresh and cooked in fresh oil. Even the chicken broth was real, which is unusual in such a restaurant. I am sensitive to food products and was happy to find the seasonings were absolutely lovely and delicate. Having moved here from the SF Bay Area, I have very high standards for food. The only thing I might do differently if this was my restaurant, is to fuse some French flavors in, which is something I expect from a Vietnamese restaurant, and to have perhaps a really authentic dish country for adventurous customers to try. Very solid Asian food. Absolutely delicious. I'll go back just for the broth! It was the best I've ever had! read more
