After talking to the owner our order was placed, the food arrived hot, obviously fresh made and delicious. If you want to try authentic Chinese or Vietnamese food this is your place. What we had here was on par with our dinning experiences in Vancouver, Richmond or Calgary food wise. Will be returning often. Tip- ask about the shrimp dumpling soup, it's not on the menu but it's excellent. Time for another review. After a few meals at this restaurant I can still say the food is generally pretty good but if you order the same meal you will notice inconsistencies in the food. Sometimes it's better other times not.

Possibly the most disgusting poorest excuse for chinese food i've ever experienced. The dry ribs…read morewere inedible, the chow mein was mainly cabbage with sporadic uncooked chow mein noodles, the sweet and sour chicken balls were dry, flaky and greasy all at the same time... didn't know that was possible but they managed pulled it off! The fried rice had no taste and contained something brown and flaky like tree bark. One of the owners sat 2 tables down working on her laptop, no one else in the restaurant, there was no music or noise other than us trying to chew the crap they call food. We finally gave up, walked away with our plates still full of garbage and consider ourselves lucky we didn't get sick. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY and TIME!!!!

This also could be my fault for ordering Chineses style food from a Vietnamese place. We had the Ginger Beef which was hardly edible, the sweet and sour pork which I'm sure was from frozen(Even had a few pieces still cold in the center) and finally we had the special fried rice, which wasn't great at all. For Vietnamese the prices were higher then I was expecting, I know many in Calgary cheaper with amazing food. I love Pho and would like to return and try the Pho but now I am probably not going to be doing that.

A description on what they sell and offer: there are products from around the world, you name it:…read moreChinese, Japanese, South East Asian, Korean, East-Indian, European (German, Greek, Polish, Austrian, Swiss, Spanish, Czech, Hungarian, Croatian, and many more) African and a selection of frozen foods from these countries also. A array of spices for all your cooking along with sauces to spice up your asian-fusion creations! Have you ever tried crispy duck with peanut butter sauce? Or the spring roll sauce that is store-made? There are also store-made won-tons along with many other products at a very affordable price. Oh and if you have allergies, this place carries a wide assortment of rice flour and non-wheat products that is deemed to be the cheapest in town! You don't have to just eat the same thing over and over again -- try some rice paper and substitute it as a wrap -- make your own bread with their flour, get a mini-sushi course from the owners! They also offer recipes to take home (just ask at the cashier). Don't be overwhelmed by the thousands of products on the shelves -- ask the ppl there, they are more than happy to show you what to do with the products. As for the price judge for yourself -- since it is a family owned business they still keep their prices on par with the huge chain stores. Or perhaps cheaper. Oh they also have a limited selection of chinese pastries -- BBQ pork buns and curry beef -- but that suffices... if you want to go a little more on the edge ask at the cashier for Balut (that is baby duck egg...) oh and they also have fresh sushi... gosh so many products -- and trust me you will discover something each and everytime you visit the place! Have fun -- taste the world at the Asian Supermarket -- the one stop shop!! cheers

Visiting Mama La Vietnamese Restaurant... this was our first time!…read more We heard this place made decent "Banh Mi" Sandwiches, which we LOVE! We decided to try out their version of "Banh Mi" Sandwich! We walked in the restaurant, [which is more like an unadorned Cafeteria, truly "Plain Jane" ]... Luckily it's in a Mall and there was tons of parking. My husband is 67 and I'm 75... He had a stroke and has Parkenson's... So my TOP priority was to find him comfortable-suitable seating. There was nobody standing around that we noticed, and at the time, nor did I notice a "wait to be seated" sign... It was around noon, there were only two tables with customers.... So we decided to walk over to one of the MANY empty tables... I was totally concerned about finding a spot for my husband to sit... Our intentions were to sit and order sandwiches 'to go' which wasn't going to take long. as we had an appointment coming up... Suddenly, this short [30ish something?] woman came marching over, voice piercing the air and sounding REALLY LOUD, looking extremely angry, and telling us/ordering us to 'get back', we had to "be seated, because we have customers coming!" She DID NOT ask us what we wanted to do? Well, this place didn't look anything like a "Keg" or some other 'high end' place where where we would expect somebody to seat us... so we were somewhat taken aback... She continued to LOUDLY broadcast her orders towards us... Customers were staring... It was mortifying. My husband is NOT well, and he felt intimidated and said "Let's get out of here!" And as we were walking out, the 'mini tyrant' continued her verbal attack on us... She continued yelling as we negotiated the exit door... I turned and said "you have lost two customers" and we left... She could serve us a sandwich on GOLD buns but we will NEVER go back there again... That woman could use some lessons in customer relations... She reminded me of "A Pitbull with Lipstick" ... At any rate, we walked over to "Original Joe's" right next door, and were told to sit "where ever" we wanted to! We also had a great Lunch... No verbal abuse either....Missed our appointment but it was a great Lunch! There are OTHER Vietnamese restaurants around here where we have been treated decently... See you, Mama La's!!
