Love that everything here is a dollar (especially my favorite snack - Hot n Honey Cheetos!!)…read more Literally everything is a dollar from chips to plastic bins for storage to gift bags to birthday cards to pregnancy tests (yes they sell those here!) to school supplies. Hate that sometimes, there are 20+ people waiting to pay and only 1-2 cash registers open. If I am in a hurry and see that the lines are long, I just leave without buying anything.

Yesterday I shopped at this Dollar Tree and bought some things for a party. When I got home I…read morenoticed I did not need 3 of the items that I bought and was missing a few things. Today I went back to Dollar Tree to exchange the items for something else. I did not want a refund! I just wanted to exchange. I asked the cashier if it's okay that I exchange, she said "I would need to speak to a manager". A female manager by the name of Alex (She wouldn't give me her last name due to policy) approach me with an attitude and said I could not exchange without a receipt. I asked if I could show my credit card transaction and she said no with an attitude. I do not understand what's the attitude for and what the issue for exchanging items that you KNOW belongs to your store and that are a DOLLAR. If it wasn't for me being in a rush and really needed these items, I would have just left and not buy anything. I will not be shopping here again. The Manager Alex needs to be retrained on customer service. It's not a good look to have a nasty attitude. P.S. The store is ALWAYS a mess, 5 registers but only one open, bad customer service & not a good place to shop. Sad!

Guys here also carry a variety of veggies and have several aisles of fully stocked shelves. One side of their large glass counter has the deli meat+ cheeses, followed by pre-packaged mixed greens, Salad toppings and prepared meals- which they can heat up. On days I don't bring lunch to work, I get an eggplant sandwich with lettuce/tomatoes or go for the eggplant on mixed greens with other veggies- that are both winners for me. The Spanish-speaking guys working on the kitchen side are always helpful and know my picky ways and the owners are friendly. Budget-friendly is not. But know this- S&W comes handy on this end in E. Tremont.

Unfortunately like anything else there isn't a consistency that I can honestly say every sandwich I've gotten has been fantastic. They definitely have not been because it depends solely on the person making them. BUT over the years I feel they've earned the 4 star review. Aside from the sandwiches, this is a clutch spot to come to when you need some quick things instead of having to go to one of the big grocery stories. They have a good selection of groceries, meat, and produce. Some of the prices are a bit higher but nothing crazy in my opinion. Over the years most of the staff have been friendly and helpful, the sandwiches have (mostly) been very good, & they always have things I need in stock. The online ordering is super easy and efficient, and they offer deliver too. Recommend stopping in next time you need some groceries are want a good deli sandwich (hopefully) ;)

I'm super amused that Yelp wants me to review every single placed I've checked into…read more The best thing about Deal$ is the puzzle section. Most of the puzzles are terrible photos that someone shouldn't have been paid to take. But there are a few awesome 500 piece puzzles that are a buck each. I highly recommend the jelly bean puzzle if you're up for the most frustrating hours of your life. Also the office supplies are pretty great. But there's always a very long line.

Located on 14th Ave in a mini shopping center called Whitestone Shopping Center with a parking lot in College Point, the Deals$ store is much larger than the Family Dollar. The Deal$ chain is owned by my favorite dollar store chain, Dollar Tree. Compared to the Family Dollar next door, I feel the Deal$ store is more organized and has a store "feel" to it with actual Deal$ flyers at the store's entrance. The day I came to visit, I was looking to buy some inexpensive hangers and I found a ten pack of hangers for, which seems to be a better deal than buying the Dollar one for maybe three hangers. Each aisle has similarly-grouped products so it is easier to shop and look for specific items. The right side of the store starts from home items and the left side of the store is food and drinks. There is usually only one cashier working, but there maybe two during times of necessity. A lot of the products sold at Deal$ is also sold at Dollar Tree. While Deal$ doesn't seem to be too bad of a place, the feeling of things costing me over a dollar doesn't make me feel too good because I'll always be pricing everything in my head to see if it is actually cheaper than if I bought it somewhere else. When items are a dollar, I only need to think: yes or no? Because of these reasons, I'm still missing Dollar Tree. PRO: Discount items, parking lot CONS: Products sold may be more than a dollar
