But Amy can help you see that, and she can then give you guidance and the tools to fix, adjust to or change whatever it is you're going through. Amy is honest and sometimes plainspoken, but she's also compassionate. She won't sugar coat things for you, but she won't brow beat you either. From personal experience, I know that some talk therapists can fall into the trap of saying your problems are everyone's fault but your own or that they're all completely your fault, neither of which is truly helpful. One of my favorite things about working with Amy is that she is more of a motivator or coach than anything else. She's very much aware that your physical well-being is directly connected to your mental and emotional well-being, and she's always suggesting physical things--like running, biking, swimming, or even a leisurely walk--that will ultimately help your mental and emotional state. And she's always in favor of making a solid plan. "What do you want to change? What do you want to achieve? What does that look like in your life? Then how do you get to that point?"
