This is a review of Dr Koretoff and the physical therapy practice…read more I visited Koretoff mid 2024 for ongoing shoulder pain. He spent the entire appointment acting like he was late for other things and had too much going on, really didn't seem interested in hearing what I had to say and was so scattered I thought wow maybe he is just having a bad day and is distracted by something. When I went back for a second follow up visit he was even more distracted and uninterested in talking to me. He repeated the same things over and over as though he forgot he had already told me certain things that same day, kept saying he was really busy and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. Based on the first appointment he had referred me to their physical therapy program. This is the key for the practice. It wouldn't exist but for the overpriced PT that is the magic answer for all their patients. Now for the billing. Each THIRTY MINUTE physical therapy appointment is billed at $550 to your insurance. They charge $220 for 15 minutes with a STUDENT physical therapist. $230 for 15 with a licensed PT. I do have a high deductible insurance plan which I am well aware of. This means I owe a larger percentage of whatever the cost is up to my deductible. I have seen other offices and been to PT many times throughout my life and generally expect the total for a PT session to be anywhere from $120-$250 and my portion of the co-insurance to be calculated based on this. In the case of this office, they waited FOUR months until I had completed the recommended course of PT to send me any kind of bill. Strategic, so that I would not know the amount until I had completed my therapy. They have obviously implemented this strategy for a reason. Yes it is my fault for not asking for a bill upfront but never in my life have I seen a supposedly reputable PT practice charge these prices. They received from my insurance over $350 for each one of these $550 thirty minute sessions and STILL want to charge me personally $80 per session. Talk about a RACKET. Wow. When I first received the bill I called immediately with my concerns and very calmly explained the situation and rationale. I was told the office was going to discuss the matter and see what they could do for me. Over the course of the next two months I was not contacted again by SDSM and instead had to reach out to them two MORE times. Each time I was told a different story. At one point the billing office agreed the amount was very high and I was told the actual therapist could agree to a discount and that they were going to discuss this. Again, no follow up just repeated bills in the mail. When I called again to ask the outcome I was told that they can't offer any kind of discount if any portion has been paid by insurance. WTF. I again explained my outrage at the pricing and that I never would have continued and certainly never will go back had I known what they intended to charge. Again, "we will call you back". Each time I made it perfectly clear they were NOT to send this to collections which they agreed. Months went by and I received a bill now almost a year later saying that my account is delinquent and to avoid collections to contact them which I did immediately. After putting me on hold for ten minutes to read the copious notes they have in my file I was told there is nothing they can do except offer a payment plan. Upon supposedly transferring me to the payment plan office she promptly disconnected the line without actually transferring me. I had to call back AGAIN and leave a message. Everyone should be aware that this is their practice. If you are okay with insanely high bills and a practice that takes advantage of insurance (which is why we ALL pay insane premiums) then go ahead and support their business. $550 for a 30 minute PT session. No thanks. And their doctors aren't even good. Needless to say, my shoulder still hurts and now I have a headache and hours of my life lost talking to them about a ridiculous bill. Really wish people wouldn't support a business that takes advantage of insurance and over bills.

I waited far too long before starting PT, mostly hoping my injuries would resolve on their own and…read morebecause I hadn't had great results with PT in the past. I was dealing with chronic hip and back pain on one side of my body from multiple sports injuries. Pain ranged from a 5-8 and made sleep and daily life difficult. Before Pro+Kinetix, I tried traditional PT and chiropractic work. PT felt outdated and boring, and chiropractic care was more of a temporary fix. I found Pro+Kinetix through Instagram and the scheduling process was smooth from the start. I chose them because they clearly focus on active individuals who want to get back to performing at a high level. Working with Kyle has been a completely different experience. He is highly educated but also very active himself, which gave me confidence right away. The program was personalized, he listened to my feedback, and he kept me accountable. The staff and overall experience are top notch. Even Buddy, their mascot and director of morale, adds to the environment. Now my pain is almost nonexistent. It's down to a 1-2 at worst; after long, sedentary days, which would have been unbearable before. This is not your average PT office. It's by far the best experience I've had, with the best results. Thank you Kyle!

    1) How long did you wait before making the decision? I…read morewaited a few months after my most recent injury before deciding to seek physical therapy. Why wait that long and what was the obstacle? I waited a few months because I had previous PT treatments for the same injury and I thought that doing the same exercises would help more than they actually did. After a few months my pain and mobility did recover but not as much as I'd hoped. 2) About particular problem...what was it and how was it before you came to see us? I had strained my back a handful of times over the past decade, with symptoms increasing in intensity & frequency over time. At first, the symptoms were limited to pain with certain movements/weight. With each instance, the pain increased, the range of motion became more limited and stiffness felt practically constant. 3) What else did you try that didn't work? Mainly repeat the exercies I had been shown in previous PT treatments. Applying some heat would help with symptoms but I still needed to address the root of the problem. 4) What was the main reason you chose Pro+Kinetix? I decided to try Pro+Kinetix because their experience working with athletes so I signed up for an evaluation. I was impressed with the attention to detail of the tests because they were specific to the symptoms I'd described to Dr. Amos. For example, I had mentioned numnbess in my feet, specifically toes and she performed a capillary reflow test to gauge the severity of the symptoms. Another aspect that convinced me to go with PK is the explanation of the cause of the symptoms since this helps me understand the mechanics of the human anatomy. As a result, I understood why certain exercises would alleviate symptoms. 5) What did your physical therapist teach you at Pro+kinetix that you can't get anywhere else? Dr. Amos didn't just teach me which exercises to incorporate into my program but went beyond to teach me about how habits & lifestyle can affect and exacerbate the symptoms. 6) What did you experience as a patient at Pro+Kinetix? I experience attention to detail of my symptoms like I haven't before. If there was any exercise that created discomfort or pain, Dr. Amos would suggest a variation of that exercise that would work much better for me. Again, the diagnostic test performed in my evaluation as well as folowing sessions is what really imppressed me. 7) Since you came to see us, what impact have have we had on your quality of life? By the end of my treatment with PT, I'd made more progress than I had anticipated. I felt stronger in parts where I was weak and unstable, and even felt a mind-muscle connection in muscles I had rarely, if ever, constracted in my life. 8) What would you say to someone skeptical about physical therapy? Just do it & believe in the process. -Luis

Later, when I faced hip flexor tightness that almost jeopardized my Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, I turned to Prehab again. With Marielle's help through several physical therapy sessions, I was able to run my race--something I didn't think was possible towards the end of my training block. The clinic is clean, and I appreciated the 1:1 attention. You work directly with your physical therapist--no hand-offs to PT assistants. Scheduling was easy through phone, text, or their website, and parking is super convenient with a large lot. Their PT packages are worth it for me because they included complimentary K-laser therapy and Hyperice Normatec compression boots, which really supported my recovery. Marielle is fantastic--personable, knowledgeable, and dedicated. She understood how important running the race was to me, so she focused on helping me achieve my goals. Unlike other PT clinics, especially those through my insurance, which likely would have told me to stop running, she tailored my care to keep me race-ready. If you're looking for a clinic that truly understands runners and provides effective, personalized care, I highly recommend Prehab!
