I made an appointment with Thrive Chiropractic in the hope of addressing a minor neck injury.
I had a great experience several years ago with a Chiropractor in the UK when I had lower back pain so was optimistic about this visit.
Prior to my appointment, I had a call from salesman Luke at Thrive.
During the call, which was a strong 'sell' on the benefits of Chiropractic. Luke revealed that Thrive do not offer one-off appointments, and I would have to agree to multiple treatments, or not be treated at all.
This is before any assessment, no questions about my issue, how it occured, how long I have had it. I was told it's regular treatments or not at all.
As a result of my not agreeing to multiple treatments before setting foot in the clinic, Luke cancelled my appointment. :-(
If my car broke down, and the mechanic said he would only fix it if I agree to bring it once a month, I would likely go elsewhere.
If I had a leak in my flat and the plumber said he'll only fix it if I agree to let him come and check me pipes regularly, I wouldn't agree to that either.
A business can operate as they wish. If this is how Thrive wishes to operate, thats fine. Their business, their choice. I just felt after taking the time to make a booking, and the 17 minute sales call which resulted in Luke cancelling my appointment, I'd share my experience which did result in a little wasted time for both parties.
I don't doubt Thrive provide a great service, I chose them on the strength of their reviews. Had I been allowed to have an appointment, maybe I would have become a repeat customer - but that needs to be my choice and not one I would make before ever having been to the clinic and experienced the service.
I take no pleasure and often don't review where the product or service did not meet my expectations, but in this case I hope my review will be of specific interest or help to those looking for a one-off Chiropractic appointment. read more
