Anne should be promoted to train other people all over the country on customer service and basic humanity. Elderly client having trouble finding her confirmation? They helped her out. Need a ride to the airport when you check your car back in? They are there for you and make sure you make your flight. Someone accidentally left their cel phone in a returned car and is now several hundred miles away? No problem, they drop the phone into fedex and you have it back in a day or so. Truly astonishing and wonderful. I wish them much success.

But today, I pulled up 1 minute before closing time on Friday (they are closed all Saturday and Sunday), on my way to pick up my daughter, after picking up a rental car in SFO, and while ON the phone with hertz, because the engine line came on on the wall here and car was overheating and I almost crashed.... and these sons of bitches waved me off. I repeatedly yelled emergency, again I'm on the phone with hertz, and dangling my rental keys in the window and begging them to walk over.... And I've been standing off here now for 40 min, after being on hold for over an hour, after picking up a broken new car, and after getting to this location right before closing... And the corp office doesn't know what to do and my plans are ruined for my daughter, and these sons of bitches are still just sitting there. Please Lord don't let me see these non-men out this weekend while I'm stranded here. In the meantime, because of them being complete pieces of shit... We did the Napa experience which took us on Silverado Trail and then we hit some back roads which was really cool to feel the car working like it was built to do. I typically use the Vallejo, CA agency. But this location had a significantly better rate for my booking than Vallejo, so I decided to go with Napa. Driving to wine country for any purpose never disappoints. Such a lovely overall area of Cali. Jackie, the lady running the agency treated me with courtesy & respect which was really appreciated. My car--a shiny blue metallic Nissan Sentra with only 20k miles--worked perfectly as a new car should. Major advantage of this location over several other agencies including Vallejo's is a handy after hours drop-off service. Park your return in the ample-sized lot surrounded by several new car dealerships and just drop your keys into the secure slot adjacent to the main entrance. This option worked supreme for me. Shhhh, but this location also has a free overnight accessible lot. Meaning you could--in theory & in practice--park your personal ride on their lot (loose gravel behind the agency and accessible via Silverado Trail). Drive off in your rental for the length of the reservation, returning anytime day or night to drive off your personal vehicle. But, I didn't work up the courage for that move, idk maybe another time? Personal cars left there overnight are at owner's risk of course. And of course, I always recco renters take out Damage Waiver Insurance for their rented cars. For the peace of mind of PRIMARY coverage, which differs significantly from SECONDARY coverage typically offered by your credit card. Something happens to your rental with Primary? Basically, just hand the agency the keys and they take care of it. Secondary coverage (if ever called upon via your credit card)=NIGHTMARE. You'll potentially loose a few years of your life in stress having to go that route! (Never happened to me but I'm hip to the fine print, potential pitfalls & repercussions of a damaged rental car without crucial primary coverage). This agency is also located conveniently on busy Soscal Ave. near major bus lines that can take you back to Vallejo (Line # 11) or even major transportation hubs like BART, SF Ferry, and beyond during normal transportation times: https://vinetransit.com/. We're from Idaho, we have my handicapped Dad and step-Mom with us in our truck, we're headed to Yosemite National Park and our truck breaks down on the side of the road. Hours later, and a tow 55 miles into Sonoma, we are trying to get a rental car for 5 days. Kendra who is in the Sonoma store went above and beyond the call!!! She stayed late while we worked out the details of the repair of our truck at the automotive shop across town. She gave us a discounted deal to help out since we were from out of town and obviously in a bind, she found us a better vehicle than our Insurance worked out for the same price, etc. She made the breakdown experience far more bearable! I don't know where to begin. I made a reservation and prepared the rental agreement at home. I live…read morejust over 1 mile from 8th St. east Sonoma and thought it would be easy to get a ride to get the car. This was a 7 day rental. A neighbor took me to 8th St. the address listed on the internet. We drove around and around an industrial park, nobody even heard of hertz. With the phone book I called the local number. The man said that the address had not been changed by Hertz anywhere. The new location was on Broadway. We found it with great difficulty. Its about 6 miles south of the Plaza where Highway 121 meets highway 12. Even then we drove round and around and more round to find the Hertz office. The man inside came out and waves us in to the lot. He started to prepare the rental agreement by hand. Why? Hertz doesn't have a printer. The car had a 'maintenance required' light on. I pointed this out but he said it needed an oil change. The car a Yaris was okay. As of this writing I have the car and will return it in a few days. Thank God to get it off my hands. If you were staying in a hotel in Sonoma area and wanted a Hertz car to tool around the wine country, God Help You !!! You would never find this place, I have lived here 35 years and had a very difficult time finally locating it in a big farm rental agency/lumber yard. Why Hertz does not have a location close to the Plaza in the center, I do not know. I should have gone to Enterprise rental in Boyes Hot Springs. If anything, there is local bus service on Highway 12 that can take you to and from there and it is not in the wilderness. I have never had any problem with renting from Hertz at the airports I came through but this local 1 week rental was a terrible experience. Take my advice carefully. Thank you. This review does not reflect on the employee on duty. He tried hard to make everything right and get me on my way. I feel sorry for him working under such poor conditions. Hertz should do much better.
