I love this little thrift store. The prices for clothing are extremely reasonable and the quality is good. They always have a lot of kitchen ware which is my favorite thing to pick through at thrift stores. This used to be called Women's Assistance League of the Temecula Valley. The name has changed recently but it is still the same non-profit. It's completely run by volunteers and all of the proceeds remain in our community to help youth programs, foster kids and other needs. This is our go-to place when we make donations donations. New name for the Assistance League that's in the old bowling alley (which is why the layout is unusual, lol). I really like this location, and I don't think I've ever walked out of here with nothing. They gave a large jewelry counter, a boutique, and they have a bunch of housewares. They also have quite a large clothing selection, and good prices on the basics. The boutique and appraised items are considerably higher. You can sign up for their email newsletter, which lets you know what will be on sale for the week. Quite a few parking spots in the front lot, but don't park to the East of the building because we told the owner of the business directly on that side will tow cars. Now they are Called thrifting for gifting and I have to say they are still just as good if not BETTER cause they have a 50% off a certain dept sale going on every week! I try to come here regularly, especially when womens clothes are 50% off or kids clothes are everything you can fit in a bag for $5 or the 50% is off frames or books cause i can never get enough of those as supplies for my art :) read more

I love that the Assistance League is all volunteer and non profit. They actually help a myriad of services for children and young adults. It's a large store that carries clothing, houseware, books, DVD's, jewelry and more. Great prices too. I found a necklace that happened to match my outfit and a cool Wonder Woman bracelet. This place has classic thrift store feels. They even do 5$ bags. I didn't get to explore the whole store because I came in close to closing time. I knew I had very little time plus my dogs were in the car parked in the shade. The building seems huge. I know I want to come back but I don't need anything. I just love shopping and I love a good thrift store find. Pricing is a little high. You'll have to shop the sale items to get a good deal. And they have a boutique. I always feel those boutique items are a bad deal. That's super opinionated. But it's how I feel. I bought a Forever 21 blouse and a unknown/unpopular VOII (possibly vintage) zip up sweater. Total came to 9.79. That's 10$ for two shirts, not exactly the best deal I've gotten from a thrift store. However, I found the same sweater in a different color/size for sale on eBay for 13$ + 13$ shipping, OBO. Now most likely they will take less than 13, but the shipping price and time it would take to get to you... makes AL's pricing GOOD by comparison. I didn't look around good, but I couldn't find the pricing for the clothing section I was in. I noticed they do Goodwill like pricing where certain items like all skirts are "6$". But oddly at the register I saw a sign that if the item has NO price tag it won't be sold. Neither of my items had price tags. I did see plates (6$) and something like an antique cookie jar (10$) with white sticky price tags, maybe for those items? There were several registers open, 4 I think. All manned by Golden Girl looking ladies. And as I said it was close to closing time. I heard them say over the megaphone, the registers close in 11 mins. Make you're way to the line. We open back up tomorrow at blah blah time. And they were dead serious about the registers closing. I heard someone say to a lady who wasn't trying to move to the live, if you aren't in line they won't check you out, they will close their register and you'll need to canoe back tomorrow to check out. I love this tactic. So feisty of these little ladies They apparently have an eBay page. They have large mystery paper bags of baby clothes for 2$. The parking lot is huge. The ladies minding the place are 70'ish old white ladies, kind yet strict. Their check out registers are uptodate, fast. And take applepay. They use Clover. You can get your receipt digitally or printed and both. read more

I have a confession. I am a professed "thriftaholic" and very proud of this self-proclaimed designations! When I need a healthy fix, I head to Assistance League of Temecula Valley (ALTV), one of my favorite thrift shops and nonprofit organizations. I experience such a rush and natural high every time I step through the ALTV doors. The volunteers are always warm, friendly, and caring. It is so therapeutic and a necessary escape for my mental health. Whenever I'm having a not-so-good day, I can always lift my spirit just by visiting ALTV! Shopping here makes my good days, so much better! There are so many great finds. My favorite departments are the women's boutique, shoes, and home furnishings. I rarely, if ever, shop retail anymore, because I aim to support the mission of nonprofits and give back to the community. I also repurpose items and keep them out of landfills, which is good for the environment. I formed a thrifting group, "Thrifting BooGee Style" and when we have regular meet ups. ALTV is always one of our stops. I have been shopping at ALTV for more than eight years and will continue frequenting for years to come. Here are a few of my fabulous finds: Great Room: Every item in this room was purchased from a nonprofit thrift store and cost about $75. The stainless steel bowl, black balls, black/white balls, black/silver balls, white candle holders and the small silver vase were purchased from ALTV. Spare Bedroom: Every item in this photo was purchased from a nonprofit thrift store and cost about $100. After reading reviews of a few other thrift stores in the area and seeing so many comments about high prices I realized that after comparing Goodwill, Salvation Army and Assistance League, Assistance League has the lower prices on clothing consistently. Assistance League has regular sales which offers even more savings. The merchandise is in good shape and they have lots of kids clothing and toys. Not really a place for furniture although they have some. As I mentioned in my first review they have very nice stuff in the boutique area. I would recommend Assistance League for people who want fair prices, especially on clothing and accessories. read more

First time here, such a great experience! Friendly staff, clean and organized facility, great variety of items. I will definitely be back! Probably one of the best experiences I've had at a thrift store / antique store. I want to express that I admire the idea of having student volunteers, as it allows them to have that experience prior to them experiencing the real world. I was able to talk to a young lady that checked me out and gave her some advice to life and loved her bubbly personality and openness to life! I came in here with my daughter about 10 minutes before closing. We knew what we came for and only needed a couple of minutes to look for it. When we were checking out it was a couple of minutes until closing. The cashier told me they all have homes to get to and she's been on her feet all day. I felt this was unnecessary since I never complained and finished before they closed. I have no idea why I was talked down to like that but it made me feel like a child. read more

Arrived at 3:45, they told me they closed in 4 min and I better look quick. I told them I was aware of my time and would make it quick. The Intercom 2 min later advised they close in 10 min . So I continue looking. 2 min later they turn off the lights and an angry ANGRY OLDER LADY told me I needed to leave. It was 3:52 and she had her purse in hand. I told her we were just told we had 10 min, she said "no not true" and told me to leave. I ask her " Do you close at 4 Pm or do you just really wanted to go home?" I'm assuming this is just a thrift shop with flex hours and unhappy employees. read more

I am a new volunteer member of this wonderful organization. I feel so very fortunate and honored to be able to contribute my time to this great cause. Assistance League of Temecula is a local chapter serving Southern Riverside communities, which includes Temecula, Murrieta, Hemet, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, and other cities. The thrift shop is the main revenue driving contributor, with all proceeds going back to local philanthropic programs that they support. Their primary program is Operation School Bell, which benefits students from low income families.. They have many other programs that they support to help those in need--there are too many to list here. The thrift shop is clean, organized, and always has so many nice, quality items. The prices are unbelievable! So many customers have commented about this being one of the best thrift shops they have ever been to. Please shop and donate here! The organization is run 100% by volunteers. They operate like a small corporation, under the policies and guidelines of National Assistance League. They run a very tight ship, that's for sure! Temecula continues to amaze me and it's continuously developing population. Who would have known that an Assistance League is nestled behind Jefferson Ave.? When I left the area this was all dirt and underdeveloped properties. Apparently since moving to Hawaii, Assistance League opened here over 6 years ago. My mom has always talked about shopping in the most affordable way possible. She doesn't thrift shop much unless shopping for toys for her grandkids (my brother's kids) and this is the perfect place to do just that. Assistance League in general is a non-profit organization and proceeds go to the children and families of their local cities. There are no paid employees but only motivated volunteers. AL of Temecula is a huge!! They are burrowed within the industrial areas of town on cross streets Commerce Center Dr. and Via Montezuma. You won't miss this building since their lit up sign is visible covering their front brick and mortar. As much as I enjoyed perusing their large toy section, home goods center, books section and apparel goods, the fun part is the boutique section next to the cash register. A plethora of designer shirts, pants, dresses and shoes are well decorated nicely in that specific unit. Purses and 5 inch heels are on the shelf for everyone to look and try on, the glass shelf houses all of the finer pieces of jewelry and are at fair prices. My mom found a fun purse to splurge on. On my next vacation to visit my parents, I won't pack as much junk this time and shop here instead. Parking is ample and hours are a little more flexible at this location. I was surprised they only charged me for $5 this entire bag. Full of great brands. GAP, Justice, Joe and so much more. God Bless their heart. I visited ALofT to drop items that have been sitting in my storage unit since moving back down here in 2014 from Washington. I'll assume the "director" came out and greeted me and I told her what I had in a Uhaul that I wanted to donate: A full size bed (very comfortable but not meant for two people), a 25' inch tube TV that worked perfectly, a 22 computer monitor that worked no scratches and a TV stand. That woman looked at me with some uppity attitude and said "no one can re-sale used beds, and who's going to buy a old TV??" Wow...this is not what I expected out of THRIFT STORE. I understand that every business has operating costs...but obviously she was expecting more of a margin. As I left the store her last words to me were "we service children". And I'm thinking why in the h*** do you have champagne glasses, antique china and adult clothes? Sounds like she assisting herself off the community. I went to the Goodwil and donated it all. I disagree with Frank L.. Many hours are spent sorting through all the donations to find the best-donated items. In regards to the pricing, it is bettered priced than all the other second-hand stores in the area. Assistance League is volunteered run, no one is getting paid to be there. Most importantly ALL the proceeds go to wonderful programs that STAY in our community. Unlike other donation places who first pay their CEOs six-digit salaries, the families from our community benefit yearly from this organization. This is the only place I donate because it's the only place I know in Temecula that will sell my donated items and give those monies back to our community. read more

I'm an avid thrift shopper, but Assistance League was not an organization I was that familiar with. Our local chapter has a tiny, but excellent thrift store. I was expecting more of the same, but with the size of Temecula, it was great to see such a large store. The store sits in the commercial area, right outside of town. Parking is ample. The facility is large and organized. At the entrance you'll find glass cases filled with collectibles and valuable merchandise. Each has been researched via eBay to find fair prices (most were 10-25% below recent auctions). Books are to the left, baby items beyond. Down the small stairs you'll find toys to the left, and clothing and home goods everywhere else. To the right of the entrance is the cashier with the fashion boutique. These are the nicest items and clearly a fun area of the store for the volunteers to organize. Prices were typical and reasonable. As the sign said, any discount means less money is going to the organizations they support. This is a must-stop thrift shop! read more

The volunteers here do an amazing job! There is something for everybody but you just have to look---that's half the fun! Also, when you purchase items from here you are helping with their wonderful philanthropic programs like Operation School Bell, where underprivileged children are allotted $100 for new clothes. Plus shopping at thrift stores is shopping green. The first Fridays of every month is 50% off everything in the shop except for boutique items. I've shopped there many times over the years and always come away with bargains and special finds. Highlights are the children's clothing and toys, and the women's "Boutique" which features up-scale clothing. Their periodic sales are fabulous. Over time I've chatted with the volunteers who run the store - in addition to raising money for charity and providing reasonably priced recycled goods, the store gives back in direct donations to women and families who are struggling and need clothes and furniture. Another donation-based thrift store that is over-charging for the things that they received for free. The employees seemed nice enough, but the prices are ridiculous. Not as bad as Salvation Army down the street, but $80 for a dirty, old, plastic high-chair is seriously pushing it.
