Great thrift store! The whole store was 50% off, and blue tags were 75% off. I hope it's just a normal sale and not due to going out of business. They were playing awful modern country music, but I was finding some good stuff, so I tried to ignore it. There was a lot of interesting framed art, reprints and originals. I love finding original art at a thrift store to bring it home. This is a large store with a nice big parking lot of its own. A fun thrifting experience. read more

I had bought 2 of the same items new converse shoes about a week or so ago and was charged $10 each which was 50% off the original price of $20. So today I went (it was 50% off everything) to purchase another pair to donate for a teen who would like them for X-mas (they are really cool) and also found other items for my give-a-way closet. But, the cashier who spoke PERFECT English to me started to speak Spanish to her in front of me to another co-worker, then she said to me no they are $45.95. I asked for the manager. He (Miguel) came he spoke English to me but turned to the female employee and started to converse in Spanish. I asked Miguel if he would please speak English because I did not understand Spanish. Miguel rudely said to me that he was speaking to her. (as he pointed) I then said yes but you are talking about my transaction and I do not understand what you are saying. I asked Miguel if he were in my place wouldn't he like to know what was being said? would he like it? Miguel said no. But then proceeded to converse in Spanish with the other female employee, Miguel then turned to me and said the shoes were $45. (not $45.95. So now there are 3 prices; $20. $45.95 and $45) Why couldn't they speak so I could understand? Why the difference in price from the other week? Why I asked; Miguel rudely said that he could talk anyway he wanted and he had the right to refuse service to anyone. I then asked are you refusing to sell me these items as I pointed to them. Miguel said yes and refused to let me buy the other items that had already been rung up but not paid for. I was flabbergasted, shocked and upset. I then asked Miguel for the corporate phone number. It took Miguel a few minutes but then he gave me a phone number; I then asked Miguel for the district managers name. He said he was; I then said no your bosses name. Miguel flat out refused the name and proceeded to say he didn't have to give me that or any other information and that I could leave the store. Miguel' tone was disgusting in fact the way/tone Miguel spoke to me was an ORDER for me to leave the store. Miguel treated me horribly in front of at least 8 people. Miguel dismissed me like I was nothing. I thought I was the customer!!!. Regardless of anything you don't treat a customer the way Miguel treated me. All I asked was for them to speak English so I could understand the conversation. It was about my transaction.....They all spoke English perfectly. I didn't know why that was so hard or wrong. Were they hiding something ???? Is that company policy???? I know the company changed their donation policy to where you can't donate anything to the store in back anymore. Did abuse to customers get added in? I typically between $50 and $200 a month in that store. I buy and put together things for others who don't have fun items for their kids, people who need household items and don't have the funds or when I come across NEW shoes for a great price that would put a smile on a teens face, hay I get it! I love smiles. For the principal of the matter I am not letting this go. I have NEVER been treated like this by ANYONE. I want an apology from him and then my business will go and my money 100% to Goodwill. You know I feel bad for Miguel because it was clear he does not have the proper people skills to be in the position of manager. read more

Used to be my favorite in town . Now it's expensive, smelly , and the manager with short hair is rude . She always has this mean lemony looking face . Last time I was there , I asked the cashier what the price read on an item because it was poorly written . He said he couldn't read it so he went shed and gave me a price . Minutes later, the lady came by , was behind him as cashier rung me up . I reminded him of the price he gave me . She then said "no, we can't give you that price " . I said "he already gave me a price " . She kept saying no I can't give you that price it's an expensive toy , then said take it ir leave it . Super rude manager or owner not sure what she is . My favorite thrift store in Merced. I go to Goodwill as well but I always come back to this one. You cannot beat the prices. They always have a 50% off. If you spend more than $20 they give you a coupon for Sunday to get 75% off. Yes it can be disorganized. Yes it smells. Yes there are weirdos. But who cares!!! If you love a good bargain come in. I am never coming back to this place. I had such a bad experience here. I picked out some jeans and a shirt and decided to try them on. There was a line to what they call their "fitting room" (more like a person's clostrophoebic nightmare) and the door to it is literally a drape with little clips to close it. The pants did not fit so I decided to set them on the rack in front of the cash register and purchase the shirt. I used my debit card and the cashier had to go slide it to the other register. In Spanish, the manager said out loud to her "why is she buying only the shirt! I saw her with two pairs of jeans! Where are the jeans!!" Basically accusing me of stealing! I had a small satchel purse on me, there was no way two jeans were fitting in there. I was so upset, I felt humiliated that he said that out loud, in front of customers. I don't think he realized that I actually understood Spanish since people often mistake me for being white. This place stinks. I would donate febreeze to them but they don't deserve it. read more

I used to shop here 2 or 3 times a week because I could always get a good deal. It was my one joy in life. Not anymore. I actually got charged $3 for a nick knack that should have costed no more than 40 cents. I am so angry with this store. I feel ripped off. I've been shopping here for over 10 years and never have I seen an item so over priced until recently. Now everything in the store is over priced. Shopping here is no longer fun. Nothing is inexpensive anymore. Everything is horrifically over priced and cost way too much. There are no more good deals. Those days are over. Id stay far away from these charlatans if I were you. They destroyed a good thing by being too greedy. Their over priced items and absolute greed is especially gross right now considering so many people are suffering financially with the pandemic. I love this thrift store. When my mom moved from Los Angeles to Atwater this was the first thrift store I took her to. We both love the great deals. As far as the smell, I'm not sure what people expect, but, it is after all used clothing, so its to be expected. I hope they are here for a long time to come. read more

This place was great. I could see why some people may not like it though it definitely has an old musty granny smell, there is no air conditioning and the music is kinda loud and things are a bit disorganized. But if you are willing to put time in to look through things well then you will find some real treasures. For super cheap too! I bought a shirt for .75 cents and $1.50 on a tea set(everything is always 50% off and each week they have a different color of tag that is 75% off as well!). Prices are great. Service okay. They have a ton of clothing some in excellent condition others not so good. Some days they are very busy and packed.... BIG variety of clothing, with excellent prices and sales. I loved that when we went in everything was 50% off with an extra 50-75% if the tags were certain colors. There was an excellent variety of every kind of clothing and sizes too. I found a beautiful silk shirt for less than three dollars and a brand new leather shirt for ten dollars. I enjoy getting lost in this stinky mess of a store. I have been here a total of 4 times. I was super surprised at how much I got for $20. Im a brand shopper and when I come across Ann Taylor tops and pants I get excited. I have also found Apt. 9 brands from Khol's as well as from my favorite shops New York and Company. This weekend I found brand new Ann Taylor leather scrappy heels for only 2.99 and marked down 50% off...$1.50 for a pair of $85 shoes....lucky me. There are a few things that irritate me about this shop (1) why such a need for loud rock music (2) its pretty warm inside (3) there is usually a long line to pay with only one clerk working (4) the fitting room is a joke...I do like that there is onsite security guard... read more

Been a fan of the store jz bcoz of the deal 75% off on ur next purchase every sunday if you spend over 20$. Its really a good deal esp for old clothes and for customer who keep coming back. This is my favorite thrift store so far in Merced due to the prices and choices. They have decent prices and have the best discounts in town. I got a Venezia top for .75 due to the color of its tag which had an extra percentage off of it , SCORE! And everything else was 50% off can't beat that! There was part of a nice reclining sectional more half than not for $40 with 50% off making it $20! Super nice. I've gotten a lot of really nice candle holders and neat stuff for the wall, once 1 found with a huge brand new candle that I still have today that burns long and bright. The only complaint that I have is the uh "dressing" room....It's a bit questionable....lol not a whole lot of room to move about in and the door is a sheet...little to no privacy. I am not connected in any way to the owner or employees except by the one ENGLISH word that I told the mgr. and the cashier was my word for describing my visit: LOVE! I mean it! Compared to the other thrift stores I visited in Merced, these people are pure love, and the prices they had were incredible. I bought numerous items and was very happy! I think I blew the mgr. and cashier away when I said that word! From reading these reviews, I can tell that they don't get my kind of reaction very often --- so sad, and they all deserve a LOVING reaction for all of their very hard work in trying to recycle the things that fill-up many of our landfills. What I viewed while there was a lot of very hard work placing many very nice reusable products. If I had the $$$, I would show my appreciation in a much more practical way.
