Dave has been a patient of Dr Harpole for 10 years and has always expressed to me how rude the lady at the desk was but I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. In the past Dave was diagnosed as Pre-diabetic and has both diabetes and heart disease in the family. Blood work was done two months ago and because of Daves work schedule and the Dr's shortened hours, he was just now able to schedule the bloodwork review. Going in, Dave had mentioned that he had seen a urologist regarding a prostate issue and was scheduled for a procedure to recify the problem. Dr Harpole discussed the prostate problem and then an audible "buzzer" went off signaling the end of the appointment! Dr Harpole not only rushed him out of the office but refused to even address the 2 month old blood work telling him he now needed to make yet another appointment to go over them!!! When he asked Sandra at the desk she refused to even give him any copies until Dr Harpole "released" them. The Dr did manage to litterally scribble on a piece of paper a couple of notes regarding the results and all we could make out was "borderline diabetic." Daves father passed due to complications from diabetes and Dr Harpole is well aware of this! I then made a call to Sandra asking what had happened and she told me she could not release anything without the Dr's approval even though that's what the appointment was scheduled for in the first place. The prostate issue was completely taken care of and under control. Here's the whole crux of the experience...Dave's urologist whom he had only met one time actually took the time to call me from HER HOME and spend 20 minutes talking to me to find out more about Dave because she's a doctor who CARES and is in practice for all the right reasons. I remember delivering UPS to Dr Harpole back in 1981 and thinking it's probably time to retire since there seems to be an obvious burn out issue here. I will also be contacting John Muir and the Medical board regarding his practice. Please don't waste your time or money dealing with this business and hopefully this will save at least one person the experience. Thanks for reading...

I do no recommend this Giva health, Dr. Anita Bhat, MD that have multiple offices throughout the bay area and just want to get you in their system to make money and prescribe you medications. I am more into natural medicine and nutrition, and common sense! I am in the process of finding a small practice that can help me with my health care needs!

Best. Doctor. Ever…read more I've been seeing her for 6 years now, and I don't have anything negative to say about Dr. Nguyen. I go see her a few times a year for various reasons, and I always come away thinking that I have the best doctor in the world. She remembers things I've told her about my life from like 5 years ago! She's warm, compassionate, very intelligent, and makes me feel like I'm her only patient when I'm there. There is never a hesitation to have any kind of test done that she thinks I might need or to refer me to a specialist. I know she's busy, but I can also always get an appointment either that day or the next day. Today I called her at 11:30 and saw her at 3. She's a family practice doctor, so she sees people of all ages, so I'll be sticking with her for hopefully a very long time. I live in San Francisco, and still drive out to Pleasant Hill to see her...she's definitely well worth the drive.

Not narcotics, not anything fun, not anything sellable on the street... just regular-ass blood pressure meds to keep my heart working. I called it in five days in advance of running out. 5 days. When calling it in I was given no push back or any notion that my meds would not be filled. Not a single hint. So after the five days when I'd run out of such meds I went to the pharmacy to pick up my refill. And turns out only one of the refills was sent. They had to give me loaner pills so I don't drop dead. What the hell is even going on with this office? Ever since they became Muir medical group I can't get my medicine refilled ever without some kind of giant hiccup! These aren't narcotics. These are blood pressure pills so I don't croak! This is so insane. The doctors here are very good. I love my doctor! But this office is so screwed up and unorganized, unethical, and doesn't care someone could just die without their meds.... I'm looking for a new dr now after several incidents regarding refilling my blood pressure meds. Enough is enough. Again these doctors rule! But the office has ruined their practice and made it completely terrible. I have family members that go here that have had the same bad experience with trying to get their meds. I have had multiple situations where I need blood pressure meds and they've been so nonchalant and just "they will get refilled when they get refilled" with zero worry about my physical safety. My sister's Primary Dr. is at John Muir Medical Center, yet my Sister is stilling being prescribed medication that was in use 10-20 years ago and not even the Recommended dose! If that doesn't work the Dr. said she might try the new medicines available! My sister will only be in the window of treatable help for a limited time... Finally, my father had an appointment today with her after getting his lab done prior to his appointment. We arrived to her office 7 minutes earlier than my father's appointment and the receptionist told us that Dr. Helm is running behind and she is in traffic; She should be here in 30 minutes which was not acceptable. We waited for an hour, but she still didn't come the office. I called my father's primary doctor to give us another nephrologist referral. Dr Helm's practice is unprofessional, unreliable, unorganized, and uncaring toward her patients. DON'T CHOOSE HER!

I was born with a kidney condition…read moreso I've been seen by many nephrologists over the years and she has been one of the most thorough and patient doctors I've met. She will spend as much time with you as needed to make sure that everything in covered that needs to be addressed. She has addressed and corrected health issues that other doctors have overlooked and/or never addressed before. She is sharp and up to date on all the current kidney and health information. The only down side is that, because she spends so much time with her patients, the wait times in her waiting room can be very long but I just plan accordingly and know that it is worth it to be seen by her.
