RSL's were always a place where community could go to get a low priced meal and be together. However here, a gluten free burger will set you back thirty bucks. A side of veg is thirteen. Granted, running costs are off the wall everywhere, but it seems it would be better to embark on lower priced options and more of them, and service the community with adequate marketing. There are motels and a hostel basically next door. It's time to change with the times, even if it's Uber Eats and similar. The ambience is not enough to justify the high prices, even if the cause is. While some of the specials look good at $15-16, they're not marked with allergens, so it's too much effort there when there are many easier options nearby. It's not the only RSL with this issue, but someone could lead the charge and modernise them.

I think for a little cheaper price, my review would be a little better. My veggie samosa plate was $16 AUS and had a side salad. With only two samosas...it was really a snack and not a meal. On our table were a few steak sandwiches, burgers, and the oh so enticing "Kangaroo Burger" on a black bun. I think there is a reason why Kangaroo is not widely served around the world, get the steak or regular burger, especially if it is your first time trying Kangaroo. FYI Kangaroo is really gamey and lean so your burger will be dry... guaranteed! There are very few other options in town, just a cafe, bakery, a few take away spots, grocery store and a fancier restaurant across the street (with equally poor reviews). It's convenient and the rest of the group was eating here, so it was a nice way to get to know them, but definitely had a little of the tourist trap vibe.
