BEN U.

The Three Mariners is my top pub in Lancaster, there is always a good selection of cask beers many changing each day.The pub is very cosy being tucked away down a cobbled road that was once the main road through lancaster. The cask beers are in a room upstairs which was carved out of the rock and are gravity fed to the bar, When we visit i always feel that Long John Silver will be in the bar along with Jim Hawkins. The pub is owned by Mitchells of Lancaster who stopped brewing in the ninties and the pubs now have a great choice of brews to sell.Recently Mitchells have bought the York Brewery which gives the drinkers an even bigger choice. There are quite afew good pubs with real ale in Lancaster but the Mariners will take some beating.

Great food and very friendly staff. Very historical restaurant right next to the castle. Would highly recommend.

Genuinely very old. Good real ale available. Can get busy but this is because it is popular.
