That was almost 3 years ago and I am still with Joanna and RIAH, in their new location in St. John, which is bit closer to my home. I love how my hair looks, feels and styles. All the stylists are friendly and outgoing and the front desk staff goes above and beyond to accommodate you. You are offered a beverage (from a pretty good selection) and they even will help you with your coat or offer you an umbrella if it's raining. The "RIAH Retreat" is the shampoo room where the lights are dim and quiet spa-like music plays as you get your hair shampooed, conditioned and receive a nice scalp, neck and shoulder massage. It's a fabulous part of the service and really makes RIAH stand out from other salons. Their products aren't something you can get just anywhere either. They do carry Paul Mitchell but the also carry Benniefactor and Davines which are only sold to salons and they offer exclusive training to the stylists. I've used both lines and I love them. The products are more expensive that what you can get at Target or Walmart but they last longer and my hair has never been healthier.

Over the weekend I noticed my nails were coming apart and stuff was getting in between them. I went in today to have them fixed. The guy used the machine and file to cut them down and added some nail glue. I couldn't understand how it happened and at first, he said it could be the water (which I assumed he meant swimming and I said no). Then it went to washing dishes when I have a dishwasher. Finally, it was not their fault it was whoever did my nails before them. I've been getting my nails done on and off for years. This has never happened to me and now my nails look worse than before. He shaved down the sides of my nails which you can see in the second photo. I was so excited for this nail place since it's right down the road from my house. I tried to let them fix it since it's been less than a week. There's $50 down the drain.

I had to give them my credit card when I made the appointment a few days earlier. I am handicapped and had to wait 1/2 hr before going to station. The girls had an attitude from the get go. My husband mentioned this also, as he dropped me off. The stylist started by telling me they couldn't do my color and I'd have to come back for a consultation by someone more qualified. This was a waste of my time and because I had been a hair dresser I knew what she was telling me was bullshit.
