It is within walking distance of the town square and all the venders in the downtown area. The daily rate of $32.00 seems reasonable. The couple who operate the park are friendly and helpfull. The park is attractive, there is laundry facilities (we didn't use them) & bath and shower facilities if you need them ( we didn't use them either). Now the NEGATIVES: If it rains very much the park turns to lots and lots of mud, which it did the week we were there. The park is older & was designed for older RVs, ie 20-25 ft. long & only needed 30Amp hookups. We tripped the breaker a couple of times. We also had electrical problems with the park hookup as did another RVer, his kept going on and off one day. The park is owned by the operators father who if you have a problem refuses to come to the park. He shows up long enough to create a problem then leaves and the couple who run the place are stuck trying to solve what he caused, she says "you'd just have to know my dad", not a good answer. Two of the 3 entries are difficult to maneuver thru if you have a newer (and longer) RV such as a big 5th wheel. Half the park is on the LOW end of the park and if it does rain very much it becomes a real mess, one guy had to spread hay just to pull out and he didn't have a big trailer either. We had a 4 wheel drive Dodge or we probably would not have been able to pull out since we were on the low side of the park. One guy hit the metal corner post at the entry with his trailer ( mostly his fault but still it is a real problem where it's at but it's protecting the power pole that's also located at the entry) not good either. I gave this park 3 stars mainl because the couple who run it are nice and are "stuck" much like we almost were otherwise I'd rate it a TWO !!If you do reserve a site request one on the high side of the park and you'll be better off.

We wanted a quiet place, where we could rest and take a load off. Man! Did we ever find a hidden gem! The owners were super nice, as well as the seasonal folks who took us for a quick cart ride to see the Fallen Rock. This year, we wanted to get away for 10 days over the 4th of July weekend. We didn't think long before we remembered how much we loved this campground! They were so accommodating! We had the same spot of our one=night visit last year. We met many more of the seasonal folks, and their dogs (we brought ours with us this time!) We have already make a reservation to go in the fall next year for the covered bridge festival. In closing, this is the nicest, cleanest park we have stayed at to date. The owners have obviously put their hearts into this place. They feel like family. Oh, and they put on a fireworks shows that rivals the ones in DC!

The grounds seem clean but there are a lot of gravel sites that are close to each other and it is hard to see the site numbers is certain parts of the park. In part of the park the sites are completely gravel. The shower/bathrooms are clean but there was absolutely no hot water in the women's showers and I am not sure why. It's almost as if the hot water wasn't turned on. It is a convenient location but sad at the changes.

We came here for just one night as we are on our way to Memphis…read more It's a bit off the highway to get back into here, but the roads were safe enough. They were super friendly at check-in and even offered chocolate chip cookies, which is a first. They also had popcorn. There is also Fatso's pizza place that is part of the front office and they give you a menu upon check-in. We were assigned to site two, which had a beautiful Lake view and was on the end so we had fairly unobstructed views of the lake. There's plenty of green space in this park and they had Disc golf as well as a pretty nice playground for the kids. The sites are fairly close together and there are 60 total sites in the campground, so seem like they had plenty of room. There are a lot of different site types that you can reserve, including one that is completely paved with some patio furniture. They also have cabins to rent if you don't have a camper. Loved all the shade trees too. We did not use the public showers or restroom so I cannot comment on that. With a good Sam discount, this place was $53 per night. Make sure to try the pizza, we ordered a small one just for a snack and it was fantastic! Make sure to ask them to make the cross extra crispy if you like it that way. All the utilities worked fine although I will say, even with our filter, the water had a little bit of an odor to it. Not sure what that was all about. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within about a mile of this place as well.

The staff was friendly, the site was level, and the setting was beautiful and serene. The camp even has a bar (lounge) where you can get beer, mixed drinks and pizza. Explained the rules. After that another camp worker, sweet friendly woman escorted us to our spot. I had ordered fire wood online but, when she was bringing us to our site, there was "extra" from the previous campers. Long day of driving ended with a nice relaxing late afternoon/evening. Note: Review is for the park only, not the campground…read more This east side park is lush and green with several shelters, playgrounds, and Burns Lake. The lake has numerous fishing docks. An Amphitheater with stone seating faces the lake and has a small "stage" area at the base. The rest of the park has a paved path on the east side and other trails that wander around the lake. One of the key points of interest along the path is the Kenneth E Smith Memorial Labyrinth which is a recreation of the one "in the floor of the Chartres Cathedral in France in 1220." There are 34 changes of direction before you reach the center. If you stay on path, it totals 0.58 miles if completed. Of course, since it is simply inlaid without barriers, you can walk off anytime you choose. Most of the areas I walked were clean, but some natural debris, like fallen limbs, was around. A large tree had fallen into Burns Lake near one of the fishing docks. Shelters seemed clean and came with numerous picnic tables and some grills. The washrooms were very clean and fairly newly renovated. The not so good: when I checked in, it was mentioned that all dogs must be on a leash, no cages, fences or kennels. Then the older gentleman said rather curtly something to the effect that he wished people would read the web page, etc. I did just read the webpage and I can't find anything about no cages, I guess I am blind. But, what astonished me was that I wasn't arguing with him, I was actually talking with the other employee. It is what it is, it's one night. But keep that in mind when making reservations.
