This last season they missed winterizing our sprinklers (we were on the schedule in October and were simply missed.) Our pipes burst and the water flooded our basement, ruining Christmas presents. They told us what to do, but when we contacted in the spring, the original proposition was we pay for the part ($179) and they cover labor ($50). The part was by far more expensive than the labor. My husband got confused as to what three parts were versus one part and when they found out our confusion, they told us the assembly part was $472. I offered to do 50/50, with them paying for labor, but splitting the cost of the part. Upon further research, I learned it was ALL considered one part and that's what the $179 he was referring to was. The situation was blamed on us for not communicating that they missed it. However, the way things have been handled in the past was a bill would be sent in the mail after the service was done. This easily can be missed. For such a small loss to take as a business, it sure was stressful to have to deal with the flood, loss of presents, rewrapping presents, and then the unprofessional attitude and communication from one of the gentlemen.

One of my favorite parts of our backyard is the crimson king maple tree. When we first moved in, we noticed that the tree looked like it had been sealed with some black tar and we worried about its health. We called West Michigan Tree Services to come take a look at it, and they gave us some advice and a care plan. They treated the tree and injected some fertilizer into the roots. They did some other work to it as well in order to give it the best possible outcome. I'd hate to lose this tree, so I'm willing to invest some money into its care. Each spring I receive a tree care contract via email that includes the cost of service for that year and what will be done. If you pre-pay before a certain date, you get a 10% discount, and the work is done that spring. We've been doing this for the past few years, and our tree is looking great! I'm so thankful for the certified arborists and staff for helping us care for our tree. They also provide tree removal and stump grinding, pruning, and land and lot clearing services.
